As kids we’d respond with “NOOO” then run to the door and give him hugs

there's one specific point which I know is just a throwaway, but if you think about it in the context of the video is very touching..
It's clear he's been travelling rifts for, in his perception, thousands of years to the point where it seems he's forgotten his name... so he simply wrote "Dad" on his journal because while he forgot his original name, he remembered he's a father. Kinda sweet in a way.
Side note, my own dad was also called Paul and he passed away in 1999 so weird to see him come back now :P

This video made me cry more than I want to admit. My parents divorce when I was 1 year and a half, the last time I saw my dad was in my 4th birthday, he gave me a doll and told me "I'm not coming back".... But I waited for him every weekend for 2 years until I eventually give up. That was 21 years ago. I'm a grown woman now but I still jealous when I see kids with their fathers.
