Here is my unboxing and first look at the MSI X Slim Nvidia RTX 4090. This 4090 promises not only to be more manageable in your current or future build, but also has 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, unlike most 4090 GPU's.

Thank you for an unboxing. Hope you get a chance to review it because there are 0 reviews out there for it now.
There's still not a single review on the entire internet - how is that even possible?
@@danijelb.3384 legit started looking today and nothing at all.. this card seems like a ghost
@@danijelb.3384yeah none found
Thanks for the video. I went out and got me one, too. It is awesome!
Pourquoi les Msi gaming x slim ne sont pas emballés sous-blister comme si elles avaient déjà été utilisé ?
Got one since there was nothing else on the market above a 4070. White would have been best for my build, but the black and silver will still look good
Was the cable 3 port or 4? Cant really tell.
Can you Control the rgb bar in the Front ?
hey man can it be easily deshrouded??
How was the cooling ?
Nice unboxing I just ordered one today. HYTE Y-60 case so no sag. Shoukd pair nucely with my 7800x3d
Hi, I have a few questions:
1. How noisy is it? Does it have coil whine?
2. Does it have the old 12VHPWR power connector on the card or does it have the new 12V-2x6 (ATX 3.1) power connector?
3. Can the smaller heatsink cool it enough?
Thanks and best regards,
R
Please answer these, especially the power connector type. Mine is just coming in from abroad so I can't afford to RMA it.
I bought this card, as far as I can see from the tests compared to the classic trio x there is no difference.
The card is quiet and cool, max boost is 2760mhz, consumption 450w.
Luckily I don't have coil vine.
As for the connection, I can't tell you anything in detail, I don't know what the difference is between the old and the new, someone says in the length of the pins, but I have nothing to compare it with, and what I looked on the internet doesn't mean anything to me, because again I don't know the difference between the old ones and new pins.
For now, I'm using nvidia's adapter and I'm using Der Bauer's advice, who is 100% right when he says that it's best to use 70% power limit, and that's correct. The performance is almost identical when it uses 320w as when it uses 450w. Just in case, I ordered thermal grizzly wireview to replace the nvidia connector.
The card is excellent and I chose this model because it is the only one besides the reference one that can fit in my fsp cmt580b case.
If you have more questions, feel free to ask, everything you saw in the tests related to the classic trio x is the same here.
@@dakula74 hey dude, what are your impressions of using gaming x slim after a month? Is there any coil whine, fan noise, power plug melting issues?
I want to get one but there are very few reviews about it
@@alexwishm3327 My 0 coil whine, i read reddit and ppl write same 0 coil whine. cool and quiet card, i think it comes with a new type of connector but i'm not sure. maybe the fan curve should be a little more aggressive. 30% at 67C. everything else is the same as with the regular trio model.
@@dakula74 I'm glad to hear that, I'll probably take this one too
Rebranding as Gaming Slim without the X. Lower clock speeds than the gaming x slim by 75mhz. Specs look like a ventus 3x but with the gaming x torx 5.0 fans and thinner cooler and only able to max 450 watts. 3x8pin unless you put the 666 bios and different cables that support the extra power.
How sure are you that the 4090 ti will even exist
I think they’ll just jump to 50 series nothing can compare or compete with the 4090 currently.
You said it comes in white? I can't find the white anywhere. It's not even listed on MSI's website. I have an all white MSI build and my OCD is going nuts trying to decide if I have to settle for a black MSI 4090 or a white 4090 from a different brand lol
The white is likely out of stock. My card is excellent... I understand where you're coming from. Good luck with finding the right 4090 for your build.
@@TheDigitalDigest Yeah, I guess that's possible with it being out of stock. Maybe with the 5090s on the horizon, they decided not to make anymore after they sold, but I can't even find any listed for sale on the secondary market.
I just ordered this card in white kind of scary no reviews on this!! When i get it will definitely post a video
The card is excellent
hi i ordered this card too however i noticed it doesn't come in white (except the 4080 slim), could you get me a link?
Did you post a video? There's still nota single review on the whole fucking internet
Yo, how is the performance cuz i’m thinking of buying and there is no review
@@Burner999 Hey, I bought it a few weeks ago. My card is absolutely fantastic. No coil whine, boosts up to 2690 mhz right out of the gate without manual OC, temps are great, I have no complaints whatsoever.
In mine there is no coil whine. In a Lian Li O11 Air Mini, running Furmark 3D on my 5120 x 1440 Samsung Odessy Neo, it stays at 74C / 165F. And it is quiet!
So far, this seems to be one of the best 4090's on the market.
hey, could you tell me what's your temps idle and in game please ? 🙏
Idle 40C / 104F, fans off. In Cyberpunk 2077 with Nvidia GeForce Experience suggested settings, 63C / 145F. Very quiet. @@Al3xDk
@@Divinatio666 really great temps ! Do you have any coil whine ?
No, total silence. @@Al3xDk
I wonder if it has coil wine? I hope not
No coil whine. Nice and silent.
Looks good, can you post some temps.
Running Furmark 3D, 74C / 165F.
Never even heard of this card, im looking for a 4090 to cram into my cooler master NR200.
It is in stock right now at Best Buy
I bought this for a new build, it's a beast of card no doubt also I'm getting no coil whine with mines. Still the bang out your buck
So far, it has been a great...possibly the best 4090 on the market
what about temps?
@@Criptooooo playing like Warzone my temps for the card stays in 52°
Does it have the new 12V-2x6 power connector?
doubt it
we need a review on it, and some benchmarks, 0 reviews for it out there. we need you
mine arrives tomorrow from best buy. They increased the price by another 100.00. So now it's 1799.99
@samgao Which is very confusing since it has lower clock speeds and max 450 watt.
@@austing8969 yeah… it actually runs slower than the ROG Strix 4090… oh well timespy results about 500-700 points slower
@@samgaohow is it man can you share some info no reviews of it on UA-cam and j am leaning towards asus strix this one
@@MansoorAhmed-ts3eg I like it because it fits in the fractal Terra without any mods or scraping. The ASUS is faster, no doubt. But I can sacrifice a little perf for the form factor of the Terra!!
Is 4090ti confirmed?
they are not great! my midle fan broke in 5 months on slim 4060 and cant find where to buy another! as seller wont replace, they want fix what will take month or longer.very disappointed on msi
says that an 850w source is enough
Yeah it's enough but that's if you dont plan to overclock and also depends the rest of your hardware
i feel that the "slim" in its name is largely misleading 🤦
It's insanely slim for an air cooled 4090
great! worse temps!
What temps
Temps are fine. Running Furmark 3D, 74C / 165F.
@@Divinatio666so what’s the best graphic card for lower temps?. and the fastest model or it does matter decided to return my 4080 for 4090 but looking for a card or it does matter! what model it is or should you recommend this card for me.
Best GPU for low temps, I don't know. I guess that water cooled cards have the lowest temps. I run an overclocked 3080Ti in another PC custom loped water cooled, and it runs at 42C / 108F when consuming 400W.
You don't need to overclock the 4090, just make sure it gets fresh air to the fans. MSI X Slim 4090 is great in small cases. I recommend the X Slim 4090. @@Andyou-434
