- English subtitles are available. This is building Hobby Boss USS Arizona Battleship in 1/700 with a diorama. This diorama is a commemoration of Pearl Harbor Day. You get to see the USS Arizona in her full glory before she got sunk by the Japanese in World War Two. Enjoy.

This is how asmr started
Simple and efficient technique for building the sea diorama. Going to try with my 1/1200 Bismark.

😎
Thanks for sharing. Excellent vocal and visual presentation. Appreciated your evaluation of model kit, explanation/demonstration of assembly and painting, and diorama creation. Excellent work.
Thanks. If you like this video, I made another ship of the HMS Befast that includes a tour of the real ship. It's on UA-cam. Take care.
LOVELY WORK. Thanks for sharing !
I liked your diorama. I currently finished my USS North Carolina and Intrepid and I will make them sit in the water much like you have. Thanks for the tips.
Nice build! Hobbyboss has a nice line of ships.
Brilliant! This video will be a good starting point for my son's Pearl Harbor diorama for History class. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us.
You are welcome 😊

This is a master piece. It depicts the USS Arizona as it should be displayed. Underway in it's full power and glory. Thank you for your work!
Thanks for your superb videos - they really have made me start building models again and I can't wait to see your Overlord diorama.
+jojoll1 You're welcome :)
Yeah. I just recently finished my 1/350 battleship Yamato, and she looks really pretty next to my 1/350 Missouri. Never forget those men who died that day. I remember them whenever I look at my Missouri
+The Zephyr Yes. The Arizona is such a strong symbol of the United State's reason who enter World War Two. So is the Missouri too; it is the symbol of the end World War Two when the Japanese officials signed the peace on that ship over 70 years ago. Tho two ships together are symbols that speaks loud words about America's involvement during the war.
Hakumai did you get the expensive Yamato or the cheaper one?
Good video. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
Nice video and great built, relax, qdc, you seem like a hostage at the beginning of the video ☺️

Great build QDC. You made some old sailors proud. Welcome back.
+webslinger67 Thanks. This was a project that I wanted to do for a long time. I wanted to do it last year but I couldn't make the deadline before the anniversary of December 7th. I am glad I was able to do it this year. It was my own personal tribute to the men who lost their lives on that ship. It was also an educational project as well because I never knew how it looked like before the ship was sunk. You must have served in the Navy. Take care and have a wonderful day!
Yes sir I did, for 8 years, and thank you. Keep up the good work.
Great diorama and well researched!

+Mr.snipeskater Thank you :)
Great display of a great ship, the water is awesome, however, as a former sailor and for future reference... the Union Jack and the US Flag you have set up are stowed for sea and the US flag flies on the highest mast... that said, beautiful ship, again awesome display.
awesome build, you really getting the water down, your D day build is just going to rock, with all the experience from these water builds. again very cool Arizona build.
+Clayton McClain Thanks. Building the Arizona has fulfilled a quest of making a model kit for Pearl Harbor Day ( December 7th). I wanted to do it for years. And it also it provided another opportunity to make water again. I am confident that I will do a great job on the Operation Overlord. Take care my friend.

Nice Build!

Very nice!! I really like the water and waves!
+Rocky Spock Thanks for your kind words. I feel confident about making the water for Operation Overlord.
I've been to Pearl Harbor and to see this build really does show the "real" side of the Arizona. You built more than just a model to anyone that has seen her. Well done.
+chris smith It's really cool that you saw the real Arizona at Pearl Harbor. I agree, this project has grown to be more than just a typical diorama. It's both educational and a dedication to those who lost their lives on that ship. Take care and have a great day!
You done amazing job 👍
Thank you 😃😃
You're welcome
Nice job qdc...you have done the Arizona proud. I shall use your water technique for my 1/700 scale HMS Hood.
+Marcus Reed I think it should work very well for your project :)
Loved it! Inspired me to finish my Iowa and do a water diorama as well, thank you!
Great job !!
Great look build there well done indeed...just one small thing. The flag on the bow is called a Jack and the pole it is on is called a jackstaff. The jack is only flown when moored or anchored not when under way...bar that very nice model well done.
Nice built as always. Watching your videos has inspired me to get into the hobby. Keep them up!
+Mustang Loyd You are welcome. If you are interested in making a model kit, start off small and inexpensive. There are a number of kits just for beginners that are not expensive at all to purchase. If you enjoy building these kits, you can always purchase more complex kits with all the accessories you can think of. The sky is the limit but it does cost more money. Take care and have a great day.
very very nice the operation oveerord is a very nice idea well done
+Marwin Reiling Thanks. I feel confident making water for the Operation Overlord now.
pretty amazing made👍👍👍👍
Another great looking kit and an inspiration. The water looks amazing and has inspired me to pull my Aurora Viking Ship out of the attic, build it and create a water diorama such as yours. Thank you for sharing your time and skill with an appreciative subscriber. It's always a sincere pleasure to watch your videos.
Nice water effect. You make nice videos. It seems you take the time to plan or script out what your going to say. You are to the point and don’t repeat the same things. 100 thumbs up. Your videos are a pleasure to watch. I am disabled and I would have a very hard time putting these together but really enjoy watching others build the models and then creating scene is just that much better.
Bought this model yesterday on internet, going to start building it today! Hope I can make it atleast a half as good as Yours!
Beautiful Kit!, I recently bought this Ship in 1/350 Scale.
qdc you helped me build modls with confidence from your panzer 2 video as i was building one
Awesome tribute!
+Damon Bruce Yes, it's a great tribute.
WOW, now that is probably the best diarama I have ever seen, the boat has such amazing details and I'm glad that you did this video because this boat Is a very important piece of American history, keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to watching more videos, your the man.
The water is superb.
+VerticalVertex Thank you :)
Nice work, thanks for sharing... I make ocean dioramas with toilet paper and glue. Waves making more easy and clean than silicone sealing materials.
This was really cool to watch! Nice job!

+Airbornerock Thanks :) I'm working on Operation Overlord this week :)

+Julian RedSea Thank you
A great job. So tiny but for me that's what makes this scale fun to build. :)
+Hayden Young Yes, it is a very tiny but highly detailed kit. You must like small scale kits :)
+qdc748a I gave the 1/700 scale Tamiya kits a go, aside from the 1 or 2 warped parts they're great.
wonderful build again Qdc, I love it!
+Burak Ayağ You are welcome :)
Awesome!
Really appreciate you putting these videos out QDC. I did some models when I was a kid which were very rough. You've motivated me to pick up the modeling, and I've been using your videos to improve my models. Thanks!
+Brandon Lemmon You are very welcome :) I do not know how old you are but, this hobby doesn't have any age limitation. If building model kits makes you happy, keep building them. Improvements comes with time but the most important thing is for you to enjoy it. Take care and have a great day! :)
Great stuff love your presentation style, keep up the good work!

Welcome back, Maestro. Hope all is well with you and yours. I want my X-mas gift, please: the final video on Operation Overlord. I've been a good boy, Santa. Gimme, gimme, gimme, hehehe... Just trying to make you laugh. It's a Boston thing, You know? Thanks for remembering Pearl and the Arizona. Coming from a military family, I appreciate the thought and gesture. Of course, the project came out great (no surprise there) but the motive and reasons behind building this model are also worth mentioning. You are very sincere about your work, giving yourself 110% on all your efforts and that makes you "special", a true modeler. Thanks for sharing. We appreciate it. Also, forgive me if I am wrong, but it seems to me you changed the camera angle during the shooting of the video, most noticeable, the close-ups. Am I right, Mestro? I am sure it takes a a lot of work to publish these videos, much planning besides glue, airbrush and a hobby knife. Damn... you're good. Anyway, thank you, again, for sharing. All my best to you. Happy Holidays to you and yours. Lou
Amazing use of silicone...Happy Xmas to everyone!.
+ARHEMIUS :)
Your videos always amaze me, I love watching your models and dioramas literally come to life! As always great job!
+Jorge Mateos You are welcome. It's fun to build model kits :)
Currently I'm interested in building my first serious model ship and therefore it was a nice surprise seeing you made a video about this topic. I wasn't sure which scale would be appropriate for me (1/350 or 1/700) because both scales have their (dis)advantages. Finally decided to go with 1/350 as I believe ships are more of a long-term project for me. Also I'm more into destroyers and they are really tiny in 1/700 scale.
Now I even more want to start this project, thank you for inspiring me :)
Keep up the nice work with models and videos alike, I really appreciate it every time I'm watching on of you videos.
+R'n'S It's cool to know that this video helped you on your decision making process :) You are very welcome :)
I love the waterline series models! Do more ships please!
Nice job listen you a perfect at model's and you changed how I make model's you explain and do the whole thing thats is why you are the best model youtuber
good job
700th scale ships are a challenge due to the crazy small parts, having built 3 so far for a future diorama, (so far a DD, BB, and a CV).
I never forget to take a minute on Dec. 7th, to keep in mind of the people that lost their lives and those that had their lives change forever on the day.
+SC457A Yes! I agree. December 7, 1941 was a tragic day and it changed all Americans that day when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.
What a beautiful ship. I am trying my best to complete the 1/350 scale version and i can't finish the build after 2 years! I admire your patience.
Thanks. I'm sure you will finish yours soon. Take care. 😁👍
Nice job on this 1/700 scale, looks like parts/pieces fit as drawn. I too am in the process of building the 1/350 scale Arizona from Hobby Boss like Mike & Models. I'm very disappointed in some of the pieces not matching their intended places, corresponding holes are 180 degrees off on the three masted towers, the base of the two cranes don't have holes where they're supposed to. This was my first Hobby Boss kit and definitely my last. I purchased this kit because I wanted to add the photo etched decking which looks great, but these mismatched pieces are taking away from the build quality and appearance. Shouldn't have to cut and drill and redo holes that were not done correctly at the point of manufacture.
v3ry nice job bravo
+nixon jackson Thank you
I just realized I've got this exact model. I really should finish it.
when those tubes are new, it is easy to remove the rear cap and scoop out large amounts of stuff with a spoon or putty knife. Then put the rear cap back in place to use normally in putting out a thin line of the stuff.
+Big Fat Tony's That's a good tip! Brilliant! You have a good head on your shoulders. I think I might use that when I need large amounts of caulking. Thanks :)
you could work for hollywood in the special effects department. great A+ job. a fitting tribute.
+modar Thank you :)
Very well done water Collin! When you think of the Arizona, think of her sister ships that were raised and participated in the battles around the Philippines later on in 1944. They inflicted severe damage on the southern pincer of the Japanese attack. Taffy 3 was the northern part of that action as you know Collin. Thanks for depicting our America in such good form...
