Hello K3N. New subscriber here. I’m recuperating at home from a period of illness and I felt the need to attempt some crafting but my poorly hands wouldn’t allow me to return to crochet just yet. I’d found the concept of slow stitching on YT recently and so thought I’d give it a little go. I didn’t think that I had much fabric\scraps to work with so my Amazon cart was pretty full with felt, fat quarters, ribbons, buttons, lace etcetera just waiting for me to press “buy”. Something made me return to YT to investigate more the art of slow stitching and your beautiful channel popped up, thankfully! What a revelation. On second thoughts, I have soooooo much material that I can work with and much of it vintage or emotionally attached to me, that’s sitting in dark cupboards and not knowing what to do with it! Thank you for connecting me with the true meaning of slow stitching and I’ve started already (pair of cut-up old Levis, pyjamas, blanket and long forgotten cross stitch threads. My heart and my hands are smiling at the thought of rifling through all those dark cupboards and I’m feeling better already. Looking forward to exploring your other videos and following your channel into 2024. Thank you! Jan x 🫶🩵
Can I share a little story with you please??? I was sitting at my desk with 2 Barons cigar boxes full of Grandmas floss on the original cardboard spool templets, her needles and thimbles too!! Looking at all their beauty, it made me so sad to not know how or what I can do to use them. ( there's over 100 double spools ) I have Aunt Josephines (1863-1949 ) hand stitched quilt hanging on my living room wall and I admire it everyday. I am trying to do something to honor the ancestors with what I inherited , BUT I don't know how to slow stitch or how to do the beautiful embroidery stitches. I'm intimidated to say the least!! I pulled up my chair to my desk, clicked on U-Tube and there you were!!!!! Angel bells started ringing!!!!! My stomach flipped around with excitement when you talked about your new project for 2024. I WILL BE THERE!!! I want to thank-you for the beautiful work you do and for sharing it also the ease in which you explain things. I will be watching ALL you past posts. You made my day! and gave me something exciting to look forward to in the New Year!!!
I love that you use old fabric. I never buy new fabric for my stitching, either I use things I don’t wear anymore or I buy them in a charity store near my house. I’ve already used my mother’s old bedsheets and my grandmother’s old bedsheets and bread bag. So nice, it seems we’re giving a new life to things that belonged to our loved ones I love your books 🧡💚💙💜❤️🤍🤎🩵💛🩷

As a trained but retired librarian too I totally understand how you feel about repurposing books and so have never had a go. However, i do like the idea of using a book that is too old and battered to be read. Count me in for slow stitch in 2024 too.

I just found you, and I’m so happy! Yes, I’ll join you in 2024. You do lovely work, and I’m looking forward to learning more about how you’ve made all these beautiful items. About 20 years ago, I designed a hussif using a fat quarter so I could work on my small sewing projects at (work) lunch. It has everything I need, and I treasure it.
This is so inspiring! I agree with your thoughts about limiting your options to increase the creativity. I often get overwhelmed by all the goodies in my craft room and work better with a pre planned palette. Looking forward to the videos in 24!
We share an appreciation and affection of vintage textiles. Your journals are unique and beautifully tactile ~ I think I might be inspired to join you in creating my own stitch journal in 2024. I enjoy hand sewing and especially hand quilting, which I find meditative and gratifying ❤
You popped up on my UA-cam and I'm so pleased that I started watching your introduction - I am very much looking forward to watching and learning to slow stitch with you. Thank you.
I was just thinking if I found one of these projects in a vintage store I would think it's the most fantastic treasure ever! I am so intrigued by your ideas and projects. Fantastic, thank you. Looking forward to your videos. J 🙃🐨🇦🇺👍
Welcome ❤️
I just found you, and I’m so happy! Yes, I’ll join you in 2024. You do lovely work, and I’m looking forward to learning more about how you’ve made all these beautiful items. About 20 years ago, I designed a hussif using a fat quarter so I could work on my small sewing projects at (work) lunch. It has everything I need, and I treasure it.
Thank you! I had to look up hussif, I know it as a 'housewife'. What a wonderful thing and so lovely that you still have it. ❤️
This is so inspiring! I agree with your thoughts about limiting your options to increase the creativity. I often get overwhelmed by all the goodies in my craft room and work better with a pre planned palette. Looking forward to the videos in 24!
Thank you yes, too much choice just stops me in my tracks 😁❤️
Looking forward to joining you in the new year,
Your thoughts on using the 'belly band' from your husband's trousers made me laugh! 😂
We share an appreciation and affection of vintage textiles. Your journals are unique and beautifully tactile ~ I think I might be inspired to join you in creating my own stitch journal in 2024. I enjoy hand sewing and especially hand quilting, which I find meditative and gratifying ❤
Thank you so much!
How exciting, something to look forward to in the new year 🤗🤗🤗🤗 I can't wait to learn more techniques from you xx You are AMAZING !!!!! 🇦🇺😎😍😍😍
Thank you you're too kind ❤️
You popped up on my UA-cam and I'm so pleased that I started watching your introduction - I am very much looking forward to watching and learning to slow stitch with you. Thank you.
Welcome ♥️
Wow!! Luv your work, will join in❤
Wonderful, thank you Christa ❤️
I was just thinking if I found one of these projects in a vintage store I would think it's the most fantastic treasure ever! I am so intrigued by your ideas and projects. I have pieces of lace and fabrics from my grandmother that I never knew what to do with. Now I know. These are such beautiful projects, and in my mind, museum worthy.
Thank you so much, such a lovely thing to say ❤️
New subscriber here. Thanks for sharing your ideas. I'm excited about trying your project for 2024!
You're welcome, I am looking forward to it myself 😀
I don’t FB or Instagram but I’d absolutely LOVE to be part of this. 💕💕💕
Not a problem, delighted to have you along ❤️
Very enjoyable and informative ❤
