- Dr. Zalost's theme from Courage the Cowardly Dog
***I did not make this song. I only cut and mixed the original theme for this video. All rights belong to their respective owner(s). No copyright infringement is intended!
As a kid you feel bad for Zalost. As an adult, you sympathize with his sorrow
we dont really know why he was depressed tho
At 70yrs old, I had a bad dream about this episode and resultant theme music. Searched and found finally. Thank you so much. The composers here deserve an award, not that I’m attempting to recreate a nightmare, but the way the synthesizer and music comes together is truly haunting. Yikes.
you mean all the voices are syntheziers ? damn... props to the composer. too bad the music score never got released.
The memories of this banger of a theme hit me like a freight train
Of all the Courage themes, I think this one stuck in my head the most. It's just so epic and emotional.
@@whispertunes609 it’s legit final boss music
When I was a kid, this episode literally made me cry...especially the part with the baby rat crying....
Now..as an adult...sometimes...I feel like Zalost...maybe it's bad that i feel this way...or maybe this is just life...sometimes it sucks...but you have to find those small moments of joy...like the "happy plums"
This was one of my most favorite episode when I was growing up
My God... memories come up from 18 years ago...
I was 6.
I cried about this episode. I felt so sorry for Dr. Zalost. I felt his pain and his will for revange.
And now... I'm depressed. Suicidal. Broken. I've became like Zalost.
I’ve been there before. I don’t care if you’re halfway around the world. If you need help reach out to me and I will help you. And if ya have to call a damn hotline or seek therapy etc remember it doesn’t make you weak or any less. Best of luck fellow human
@@dantheman7506 You are more kind than 98% of the internet. I am here if you require any form of assistance. (Almost any form.)
@@Theanymemetor call me crazy: Don’t know if you’re American or not like I am but I’ve fought in a lot of war and if it’s taught me anything it’s that the world is a better place when we stick together. If szarkabence6226 needed me to get a 500 dollar flight to come scoop his/her ass up and keep them safe I’d do it in a heartbeat. Luckily I’m able to do that kinda thing if it ever came to it. Hopefully they’ve found their way and things are getting better for them
@@Theanymemetor oh! And thank you very much. If ever I should need help I will reach out :)
@@dantheman7506 That is a heroic thing you are doing. But, it is better to know the person first before doing all of the things you just said. Just a heads up though. Great job. I couldn’t do half of that because I honestly don’t have the resources so XD.
I recently got HBO Max and saw that Courage was there. I watch this episode at least four times a week. So much childhood memories!
This theme definitely carries a lot of nostalgia!
my favorite cartoon is courage the cowardly dog my brother subscribed to HBO and I watched it, I had never seen this episode and when I saw it I thought it was wonderful the best episode
One of my all time favorite episodes ❤
This one is definitely up there on my favorites as well. This show had so much to offer! It's a shame cartoons like this don't exist nowadays.
@@whispertunes609 yeah, now there’s just: WHERE IS SKIBIDI??? when it’s right in front of them
3:57 - 4:16 something very special, it somehow make me wanna cry.
Es como si la depresión se ahogara en si misma, con sus últimos esfuerzos 😢
I love this absolute banger of a song
One of the best in the show in my opinion!
@@whispertunes609 is the gerbil boat chase theme a joke to you?
I didn’t know I needed this.
Now you know :)
eustace : ahhhh is the end of world !!
You did a fantastic job mixing the segment at the end of the episode. It's definitely my favorite part of the theme and it tops the episode with such a nice bow.
The whole song was so lovingly crafted to suit all of the bits of the episode.
It's absolutely criminal that Courage was not allowed to release a soundtrack. Maybe someday.
Great work!
Thanks ^_^
Dr. Zalost vehicle does carry depression within itself. The tred of its tires are like the tank that are set for war where death encamps its self around all men who dare dread to find themselves in the wake of their demise. The spider like legs reminds me of not only how depression may sneak up upon people over time but how it entangles people into an endless abyss driving them into madness. While the body of his vehicle is a tower. Symbolizes a time long since pass when royalty had meaning and merit where knights have chivalry and ladys were treated like princesses. Your wages were equal to your sense of adventure and that we no longer live in those times so nostalgia haunts us reminding us of our upbringing. The rose tinted glasses that blinds us of the truth of the cruel world we live in. A time of lost joy, the deception we bind ourselves in and our desperations of what damage we will do to fight tooth and nail for even in the trenches. The creators of this show really did their homework or had some understanding when creating Dr. Zalost vehicle.
Boss Music:
Facts like some from Elden ring
This theme and Windmill Vandals are my favorites
This is one of my favorite episodes and The tower design and theme song are perfect for videogames and animated movies like Sonic Spyro Rayman Legend of Zelda favorite Animated movies and more. Especially Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss.
Came looking for the old memory and glad to see others loved it too ❤️
Courage had an amazing run
I can visualize the scenes haha love the show so much
Agreed. Such a great show. This song did a wonderful job at capturing the mood of the episode.
Magnificent 👽🥰🕰️👁️🖤🤍
Give my old school Final Fantasy vibes lol
Cartoon Network never make cartoons like these anymore it’s actually saddening if you think about it!
I’m binging the show and when I got to this episode, it just hit different.
The soundtrack is amazing. I’m still on season 3.
Edit: I finished the series and now I miss it.
try playing this music to the second fireworks tower in Epic Mickey: it works surprsingly well, especially with the concept art for the area being called "Grief, Loss, and Sorrow"
That’s it! I'm gettin me mallet!
As I sit here listening to this song I had a vision as I am daydreaming. It brought me to tears. The music with the sound effects broke my heart. In the vision I was a prisoner of war. I look to my right and I see miners using pickaxes on these rocks and a machine picking up and disposing dead bodies and when I turn to my left I can see metal stones falling and finally as I stare directly in front of me I saw a guillotine and behind it the sky was painted blood red. The shine of the blade blinded me. I fell to my knees and my head planted underneath the blade. Despite my blindness I saw a baby crying. It was new life. Still fresh to the world. As I saw this a tear spilt from eyes and all I can do is smile that where I may go my hope surpasses my death. Eternal life with my Creator.
This music is epic and awesome
why am I crying so much
0:00 to 0:40 is so relaxing
3:44 so touching
Hi, same also does this theme sound like it would be, great for an invasion march for a fleet ?
Courage still runs on Toon daily, one episode. Hope it returns. Sheep in the big city and courage without question were the best. Another evil creeper on Courage was the sleep keeper Sandman. Reminded me of of Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson dancing about while madly playing his flute. Am I crazy?
Raaaat, come here rat and give me a hug. Hear the cannonballs falling into Nowhere turning townsfolk into zombies.
me da una tristeza tan grande escuchar esta cancion
This is best episode favorite ❤❤
Is there one like this with just the music
Not to my knowledge, but I could be wrong. All I've been able to locate without the sound effects is the following video, which only contains part of the theme: ua-cam.com/video/CBPUDxke1b8/v-deo.html
@@whispertunes609 thanks I guess....
There was never an official ost release sadly. It's a shame truly because this music is truly a masterpiece as well as the show itself.
@@FoxySpartan117 yes....
wow

Oh, these is sooo, embarrassing
wow this is, this is just a masterpiece
This cartoon had some apocalyptic music. Some it is very atmospheric.
