This is an age-old story beginning with taia777 in 2012, where people from all walks of life would comment about how their life is going. In 2020 that original video was removed. In that video's honour, I have kept both the original title and video, as we have all found the video recommended to us seemingly from nowhere, with a Japanese title and low-graphics thumbnail. Yet, out of curiosity, we elect to watch it and find a beautiful community of commenters

Try practicing gratefulness : Every night, before going to bed, take time (abt 5min) to write down a couple of things you are grateful for, like "I'm grateful that pasta exist" or "I'm grateful to have that nice friend". I know it sounds a little funny, but doing that makes you feel in average happier. Of course don't take that as a miracle solution, but at least try it out ! It can't hurt xD. Have a great life !

Checkpoint: I'm overcoming my social anxiety and fear of rejection. I've made new friends, though last year this was the thing I struggled with the most, but now I'm making beautiful friendships with people surrounding me and I feel loved, in a way that I have never been loved before.

It’s simple, but I think this is one of my favourite things I’ve seen in my life, bravo, truly, powerful. Being socially anxious, it took me a while for worthwhile connections, but it’s beautiful to see someone finally get one of, in my opinion, the best feelings in the world, gaining more meaning.

I felt that too recently. Crying while writing this because I'm remembering how that feels. Thankfully that being more alone than ever before in my life quickly ended. I'm so so so so so so so so glad I didn't do anything bad. Listen, it must feel so abominably bad, but if you're still here, something's stopping you. You could call it your fate. You could call it God protecting you. Whatever you believe in religion-wise, you can't deny that something's stopping you. Listen to that something. The happiness that you will feel and the happiness that others will feel because of you if you decide to keep on going is infinitely worth more than the pain you're going through now. TRUST ME!!!!! I'm only 18 and am not very wise, but I believe with 10000000000% of my being that if you choose to be strong and keep going, you'll live a life that you wouldn't regret. I believe that in the end our good deeds will outweigh the bad ones, as long as we try!!!!
Also I completely agree with @GlitchmanVGM !! If you don't believe in God then I hope you do soon, He is the most important piece in everyone's life.

When i was younger and in school i had a similar period of my life. I managed to pull through, but it took many, many years to recover, and it was very hard.
Video games were my escape as well. If you can stomach it, listen to reggae music, that lifted me up during my hardest years.

@CamelGuy3 - My advice to you is to do something fun that'll also better you outside of classes. I think taking up physical exercise like martial arts, working out or a sport would be great for your confidence and you could meet some great people whilst doing it. Also do nofap, eat healthy. All of these will sky rocket your confidence, and you'll be able to stand up for yourself a lot more easily.
You got this man, I believe you can defo turn things around, take it from me, I had a year where I felt friendless and hated life, followed by the best year of my life when I did nofap, meditation and living a healthy life style.
As someone who’s also gone through this, it’s not about what others think of you, it’s about what you think of yourself, always look up, your fight isn’t over yet soldier.

I understand that loss and grief are a part of who I am, and that those who left me behind only want me to be the best version of myself. Im so sorry for your loss, my brother is graduating in a few weeks, and ive genuinely considered suicide, I was in enough pain that I didnt consider how someone like him would process it if I went through with it. When someone is in that much pain its very easy to forget how others would take it, but it never has to do with how much you love someone, im sure he loved you so much more than you know 💜💜

Life is so strange.. im 27 years old, and never encounted the original internet checkpoint. And seemingly out of nowhere, i get recommended this video in the same way many others have. The japanese text, the unassuming backround.. I cannot explain the instantaneous flood of emotion that came over me. It is one of the most human experiences ive ever had. Reading all of these stories, struggles, and glimmers of hope gives me the strength to continue. While I may not have been there to see the original, this hit me just as hard.

I don't know who you are but glad to hear that you successfully cried (that sounds weird). I have grown up all my life trying to hide when I cry and that turned into not wanting to cry at all. Make a list of what is fact and what is your mind telling you. For example. your mind telling you "I am worthless'. fact: "I am good at this... or that...". Even if your fact is.. 'No one is worthless'. Trick is to remember your value always.... because we forget and we make all this irrational thoughts in our head that sound so 'logical' or 'better for everyone'... when they are not. Even at your lowest.... we are not beings wired to hurt ourselves... any thought of it.. is a lie our mind is telling us. Please seek professional help.. medicine does work... and do everything else you can as supplement.

Checkpoint 6/6/23: My German Shepard just passed away a few days ago. She had cancer, and was trying her hardest to hold on for the last few months of her life. She was such a warrior, she would do anything to protect me and my family. I'm so glad I got to meet her, I hope now she is peaceful, running and playing, chasing squirrels, just like she used to ❤
Men what a coincidence. My girl was also a german shepherd. Also died a few days ago. Time has been rough lately, hope you do okay. She is out there in heaven, don’t let your memories die.

Checkpoint: The start of teenagerhood
Checkpoint 6/3/2023: I am 20 years old and my grandfather passed away today, on his birthday no less. While I am obviously upset over it, I cannot say it was unexpected. In his life, he survived 3 heart attacks, near deafness, and slowly losing his ability to walk, as well as a couple nasty falls here and there. He was resilient and strong for all of that time, always wanting to see his kids, and later his grandkids, smile. Maybe it's some kind of fate, maybe it's just me noticing things now that he's gone, but I almost feel like his influence was over me today. Yesterday, I spent the day doing yardwork for him and just spending time there afterwards, and today I went to the bank to deposit money he gave me for my birthday, wearing a coat that was a hand-me-down from him. And on this exact day, this video just so happened to appear on my UA-cam front page, which is why I decided to "save my progress" today. As a whole, I wouldn't consider myself the most spiritual or religious, but I have always found death, while obviously sad and tragic, something that is more beautiful than sad. If there is some kind of afterlife, then he's enjoying an eternal paradise with everyone he knew who had died before him. If there isn't than he lives on for the rest of my life in the form of fond memories I have involving him and the rest of my family. Either way, he isn't truly gone, and I think that shows just how important the connections we make in life are, as they can keep us around for longer than our bodies or minds ever could. This has all been a bit scatterbrained, I know, but I feel that I really just needed to get this out somewhere for a sense of closure with myself. Maybe I won't fully feel that today or tomorrow, but I feel this is all one step closer to that than not talking about it at all.
I love you grandpa, and we'll see each other again someday, I'm sure.

I just graduated high school, and got accepted into college and a marching band! Right now life is very strange, stressful, but overall wonderful. I’m still exhausted all the time, but that’s just because I don’t know how to relax lol. Either way, I got a lot to look forward to as one adventure ended, and so many more opened at once. I feel so happy
