Thanks bob. Next month I'm going to get back into the cooking videos. And possibly one overnight fishing video 😉 talk to you in the next one and have an awesome week
another good installment in the series, I see Scott ran across the bench seat at the 12:43 mark, like that wool blanket setup for camping, I still use one on the bed in the winter months
Yes Craig. Scott made an appearance in this video. He was running all over the place. I have one in the future that he makes an appearance three times. Oh man I love wool blankets. Unfortunately Jessica thinks they're too itchy and won't allow me to put one on the bed. But I do keep one for the couch for me and the dogs. :-) talk to you in the next one. And have an awesome week
Thanks tim. Congratulations you just spotted jj. I've got a video coming out next month where he makes three guest appearances. Yep he's running all over the place. LOL talk to you in the next one
Thanks karen. Yes I've accumulated a lot of gear over the years. I think I have a problem. You should see my gear locker. LOL talk to you in the next one and have an awesome week
Have a GI Wool blanket like that too. Seem to be getting harder to find. As I cruise through Surplus store websites, the ones I go to anyways, are always "out of stock". They are handy. Nice little overview of your different pieces of sleep gear. Enjoyed the discussion. Thought I seen JJ running around. He looked to be in a hurry to get somewhere.
You're not kidding Karl. when you do they're so freaking expensive. I remember back in the day you couldn't give those away. I wonder what changed... thanks. Yep JJ was on the move. Not sure where the hell you was going though. LOL. You'll be seeing more of him next month. On a side note still waiting for my fish. LOL talk to you later
That's a good a good idea Neal. Oh yeah his claws we go to the toughest very mattresses. I'm pretty sure peanut would do the same thing. She's really tough on the blankets on the bed. LOL sometimes I think she's trying to dig a hole to china.. have an awesome week. I'll talk to you in the next one.
Hi david. I agree you cannot go wrong with the wool blanket. I have several in the house. Unfortunately Jessica won't let me put one on a bed because she says it's too itchy. Congratulations you just spotted JJ. Talk to you in the next one and have an awesome week
Hi Bob, I don't do hammocks at all. You're lucky you can sleep with just the Thermarest pad alone. I have the Ridge Rest pad like yours and the Solite one too, that has the silver on one side to retain/reflect body heat. I use mine under my self inflating mattresses as an extra barrier and cushion from the hard ground. I recently got a down 0 degree bag. It's something that I've been wanting for winter camping, that will fit on the bottom or in my large or medium Alice packs that doesn't take up a lot of room and is lightweight. I can put a woobie in it for a liner or a regular sleeping bag liner. I myself am a cold sleeper. Need all the warmth I can get in fall and winter or early spring. (Even though I hate hot weather)
Hi Jeff I was against the hammock for a long time until I finally got one. I'm going to be honest with you it took me a couple months to get the hang right and finally get comfortable. But now I sleep like a baby. I even have one set up in my office for afternoon siestas. And would you believe peanut loves getting in it too. LOL I know I have a weird dog.. That's a good idea using both sleep mats. I bet you're definitely comfortable... Sounds like you have the perfect setup. I'm not a big fan of doing an overnight in the hot weather either. Even though I do some all night fishing in the summer months. That's what I have to call it now to keep out of trouble. Personally I prefer the winter months. Now even more that I have a new stove for my tent to try out. Which I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing this winter. Have a most awesome week and I'll talk to you in the next one.
Yes trapper JJ decided to make a guest appearance in this video. I have a feeling we're going to be seeing him more next month possibly three times in one video. Have an awesome week and I'll talk to you in the next one

If you are hearing the drum beats of a Native American tribe do not be surprised. That area is probably an old campground for a long gone tribe. Their bodies may no longer be there but their spirits still occupy the space. Non Indians get apprehensive when they hear such things but Indians...we understand. 🪶🌎🦬🐎🏹
Awesome Bob, thank you again.

I see you spotted jjj. Nice.
i often use a wool blanket (folded in 3) as a sleeping mat,
as my camping buddy (a hound) has inch long claws and inflatable mats dont last long,

a bad night sleeping will just kill your day
Agreed and it ruins the trip too.

I've got a question for you. Have you ever been to White Cloud in Horton kansas?
No, but I have heard of the place. The Iowa tribe lives there. @@Bob808Knight
