I love layering scents, and am so glad you love doing that too. There is, after all, no laws against it. I am 70 years old and have only been collecting perfumes for about a year. In my mind, I want to wear as many as possible in the time I have left, and who knows how long that will be? 🤷🏻♀ I love creating new and interesting combinations, and my favorite is Mon Guerlain Intense, layered with Ormond Jayne Woman. I discovered it by accident when I recieved them both on the same day and sprayed both on immediately. My eyes rolled back in my head, it was so amazing! I bought Ormond Jayne Woman based off of your review, and am so glad I did!
Oh I love that! Gosh I might have to give it a go also, I don’t have MG intense but I do have the Florale. I actually think OJ layers well with many things even though it is quite complex on its own. Thank you for sharing and for the lovely feedback! 🙏
Fleurs De Reine sounds positively gorgeous! Want want want (don’t need…! 😇) Off to research this one. I’d happily sit in that scent bubble ☺️ For me, I have to be so careful when I apply Le Lion as that one is such a powerful beast! Funny, my 17 y.o son thinks it smells like Blistex/Carmex, like all the ambers I wear, Grand Soir another one, lol. 😂
Thanks Claire! I wish I had been able to smell on the day that I was there! I didnt really smell the other options but I had smelled the L'Iris in a store at home so thats why I bought it. I had only seen the 100ml in our local store but turns out SMN has an Aussie online store and the 50ml readily available! 🙄😂
Yes! 🙌 it’s such a shame they discontinued this one! It’s so weird I started looking up reviews on this and so many people didn’t like it. I can’t fathom why! Oh well, I will enjoy it and then it will be gone.
I'm glad you like this L'or version too 😊 On my skin I get more the ylang ylang and the vanilla. (When I buy a fragrance second hand I also spray it a few times first to get rid of the juice that stayed in the sprayer. If it has not been used for a while it oxydises. Especially if there is just a little left) I also enjoyed another version of Mon Guerlain. I guess it's the bloom of rose but I don't remember if it's the edt or edp ... I got confused with all these flankers 😂
Thanks Karine! Ahh yes, I get the Ylang Ylang too, but the tuberose really jumps out at me with that ambery base. The flankers are mental, I wish companies would just have a break from this trend!
I love Benjoin Bohem. It's my charming and lovable gentleman scent 😅. It's almost like an antique vanilla wood scent on me, but with soft Ambery touches, with its own mild sweetnes. Very sophisticated fragrance, i can totally see why you love it.
Have you heard the Grand Soir changed the formula? Apparently, the new version has cinnamon on top which I am not really a fan of 😩 luckily I have the original version so I will use it sparingly😅. Great video as always❤
Oh I’d better look into L’Iris. Sounds very intriguing. I was just wearing Sant Maria Novella yesterday. You’re right about the weather. Melbourne has been all over the place.
You look amazing in this video! I am not a big fan of very sweet fragrances, but I have to say I really enjoy Mon Guerlain and even Mon Guerlain intense (that I own currently). I love to wear it before going to sleep, it has something comforting to me. And of course it has an easy scent profile, so when I wear it outside people appreciate it. I have been loving So iris from Montale as well!
Mon Guerlain is popular for a reason - its really good! I have not tried the Montale, thank you for the recommendation I will keep my eye out for that :) x
Is that a peace lily? He’s not feeling peaceful 🙁 I hope a drink revived him! Great video Cherie, I’m so so into the amber and vanilla way more so than any florals, so you’ve peaked my interest in a couple to look at. ❤ hope you’re having a great weekend 😊
Kitty cat! 😻Love the setup and the colors and the chat! Unfortunately, I waited too long to pick up Diptyque Benjoin Bohème in the cracked glass bottle. Such a gorgeous scent! I laughed at your conference story; your scent bubble is probably still there. Will check out Fleurs de Reine.
😬 as an undersprayer it probably wasn't as bad as I was imagining, I just found myself exploring TikTok for the first time this weekend and am quite shocked at how much people spray!!
Ho Cherie ❤ J’adore is all about tuberose and ylang with some vanilla amber and fruity touches. My fave was a discontinued l’absolue that was mostly floral 😊
The new essence is going with orange blossom, made the FK way: if you smelt some of his 90s-2000s orange blossom perfumes (almost bubblegum my)you can get hints of the new Dior.
Abolutely love your latest picks. I'm sure I'll love Fleurs de Reine but a wee bit nervous of the mimosa note. What's the chypre from Maison Godet, please?
I think it is just called Chypre. From memory it was quite masculine leaning but with the hot weather we were experiencing I was so tempted by it! I wish I had thought to ask if it was possible to get a sample...
I have been following this channel for a while and noticed that we have similar taste on perfume. in fact, I am looking for something different lately just like you. used to me a light fresh floral lover but now I am more interested in amber scent. this is a definitely a good guide and thanks for sharing. perhaps, just out of curiosity, are you an academic as well? because you mentioned attending the conference, and I know there are plenty of academic conferences going on at the end of the semester. BTW, I did the same mistake as you did. lol I wore Le Lion for attending a conference in Geneva during the summer time. the venue had almost no air conditioning, which is common in Europe. so you can imagine what would happen... lol basically the idea of wearing it to get some attention, but it seemed a bit too much😅
Hi Sharon! Oh Im glad you resonate with my tastes, I know they dont always align with the majority! I am not an academic, no. haha I got as far as doing my PhD and then I went out into industry. In hindsight I do regret it a bit though, I think the academic lifestyle might have suited me. LOL Le Lion is a monster! Glad you and the others got out alive! 😂 Thank you so much for commenting and letting me know you are here. ❤

I just love Mon Guerlain Intense, discontinued now but oh so gorgeous! Still can be found online though. 😊
@@time_traveller3 Oh, didn’t know it has been discontinued. Fortunately I have a brand new large bottle and an almost finished smaller bottle.
@@kanamichelle7404 Yes, a shame isn’t it…Plenty to last you a while then, enjoy it all until the last drop, as I will mine! 😊
You look stunning! Love the new intro, font etc. The colorful background also looks great!
Thank you! I'm not sure how long I can keep it up but I'll try! haha
Grand Soir is absolutely Devine
I concur, wholeheartedly Dell! ❤
Just bought Tolu this Black Friday. It is getting chilly in the Netherlands. Love the resines scent with the green peeping through.

I loved Santa Maria Novella, didn’t fall for L’Iris as it felt so green to me. I got Muschio (musk) instead ❤

That is MY Mon Guerlain flanker☺️! Had a bottle right before I got into this hobby and used it up and now I can’t find it anymore.

Enjoyed very much your program - nice, that you talk about original perfumes, not the ones that everyone talks about
Thank you so much for being here!

I totally agree Lizzie, thanks for watching as always!

Oh I haven’t tried bottles in store since I bought this one! What a shame.

and the confusing weather continues - right now I am in the sunshine coast and tempted to put a jumper on!
You look amazing in this video!

You look so pretty, your face is glowing.
What a lovely comment, thank you!
@@TheTopNote I think women don’t complement each other enough.
Great selection… ❤
Thanks Danielle!
Hi Cherie, always look forward to hearing from you. I’m going to try Tolu OJ now :)
Wonderful video! I laughed out loud imagining your bubble. I’m not an oversprayer but I’ve been in that situation before a couple of times. 😂❤️

Ah excellent, thank you! 🙏

Karine! 😍
Do people still yell "FIRST" when they're the first to comment on a UA-cam video? Probably not, huh? Welp...
