This is like a blessing and a curse for fragheads we're nosy and want to see all the collections , then when we do we end up wanting to add to our own 🤣
Oh my gosh, I so know what you mean about Shalimar. When I was about 20, so over 30 years ago now, I got a boyfriend to bring me a bottle back from overseas because I thought it was the last word in sophistication! The first time I sprayed it on myself I decided it smelt like bug spray 😳 on me and didn't revisit this until I was well into my 40s. Absolutely love it now and even have a few flankers!
I went back through your videos to find this. I recently smelt Mitsouko for the first time and I’m obsessed. Your comments have convinced me I need to try it on my skin a few more times to make sure I don’t smell like old cigarettes! The lovely lady at the Guerlain counter in DJs gave me a generous sample. I want to try the l’huere bleue too. Great video ❤️
Passion is never an embarrassment Cherie! ❤️ You look wonderful in black btw. Was just wearing Herba Fresca this morning! And Philtre de Parfum really captivated me last year. Was soooo close to getting a bottle but for some reason decided to wait. Eventually. Eventually. 😄
You are the first ever perfume reviewer I've seen who has exactly the same experience with Mitsouko! Yep, it smells like a stale car ashtray on me... and also the Cabouchard 2019, the one everybody thinks is soooo beautiful, it smells like I keep fresh cigarettes in my shirt pocket... and I quit smoking 5 years ago 😂😂
I think Shalimar is beautiful. It vaguely reminded me of lolita Land by Lempika but but after smelling them both side by side, I realised Francis Kurkdijian isn't even close. I feel Guerlain perfumes make a woman feel a certain way effortlessly. The smoothest perfume ever. Now I understand what they say about Guerlainade. There is a signature underneath all their perfumes.
This was the key to me learning to love Shalimar. I disliked the edp but the edt is much more tame, while still retaining the DNA that makes it a classic.
Hello from a fellow Aussie! 😘 Wonderful video & collection! I also collect perfumes. Couldn’t even begin to count, lol… My biggest loves are Guerlain, Chanel (vintages) Dior & Estée Lauder. For me, Mitsouko is a masterpiece! In fact, it’s my signature. The Eau de Parfum is a lot more plush, well-rounded and absolutely beautifully blended. I don’t reach for the EDT version much. Samsara in vintage EDP form is glorious. Also have many of the Shalimar flankers, and yes, the Soufflé Intense is wonderful! And oh my, I just adore Parfum Initial. ♥️
@@TheTopNote Likewise! 🙂 I’m not really sure as to why it’s hard to locate here….maybe the big chypres are slowly declining in popularity perhaps? I know that Guerlain a couple of years ago (?) repackaged their Mitsouko from the gold box to a white box. And just recently, they’ve changed the Mitsouko bottle itself, well the label actually, also in white box. Guerlain earlier this year re-released all their classics in these new-look labelled bottles. (bottles are essentially the same) For me, the best one I’ve found is the gold box version, from 2013 on until around 2019. Batch code will start with a 3 for year 2013, 4 for 2014 etc. (as you would know!) Still a few to be found on eBay etc, I’ve even purchased from overseas too.
I feel the same way about the Spirituese Double Vanille. It's not my favorite from the line, nor my favorite vanilla, but I have used quite a bit. I think it's an easy reach because it doesn't choke me out like some of the other vanillas I own. 😊
I just got a vintage EDP from 1990- but what is the matter with me? c I don’t get it😭. I was so hoping to smell the sandalwood- but it’s completely transformed into a strange perfumey smell. Maybe I will learn to love it?
Thank you so much for sharing your Guerlains! Such a classic and loved house. In my experience, Champs Elysees edp was a no for me. I tried and tried but I had to sell it. It went quite urine-ish on me 🙊. I adore Mitsouko and have never gotten the cigarette vibe but I'll look out for it now! And Gourmand Coquin is in my top 10 for life. Simply gorgeous. It makes me think of Valentine's Day...chocolate, rose, and a little booze ❤
what a gorgeous collection Cherie! Guerlain is my fav house and I love Mitsouko, never thought it could smell like stale cigarettes! lol! hope you'll like it in time!
Lol I know it felt like some kind of blasphemy! Although to clarify it’s only when it’s on my skin for a while, if I spray it in the air or on paper I love it!
Thanks for showing us your wonderful Guerlain collection! There are a few in there I need to sniff now! I have one Shalimar flanker you didn't mention that is wonderful, have you ever smelled Shalimar Ode a la Vanilla? I love it. I feel like I need to smell the original Shalimar again but I'm not sure if EDP or EDT will be more to my liking.
The Shalimar Soufflés were interesting to me. The original turned “bad” on me quickly and my family was sensitive to the musc in it. The Intense made me realize I wasn’t very into benzoin. And the only Shalimar I still have after a few declutters is Cologne. It’s what I reach for when craving fresh citrus and vanilla at the same time :)
That's an amazing collection and you've spurred me to buy Shalimar Souffle Intense because I've been thinking about it for a year now (and it's cheap). 😄
Loved this video. I have a hard time with Mitsouko as well. I have the EDP but wish I had the parfum version instead. I think it is smoother and more polished. I did get a sample of Philtre and it's on my buy list. I prefer it to the EDP.
One of my favourite perfumes ever just happens to be a Guerlain- Nahema. I have been wearing this perfume for years and love it. It has been reformulated but thankfully I have two bottles of the old formula now stashed away which I got for a bargain on ebay. I don't think the seller knew what they had to sell as I got the bottles for about a third of what others were selling it for .
@@TheTopNote This video has inspired me to get out my bottle of Shalimar EDT - perfect for this transitional weather and I had forgotten I had a bottle !!!!!!
All that Guerlain and no mention of NAHEMA? Jaque Guerlain regarded it as his masterpiece. It's little known, but it's a unique perfume. The only perfume I would label as Devine. Another interesting one not mentioned is "Chamade". Hope you will take time to check them out.
I do now own Nahema, have smelled Chamade and agree it is beautiful but it’s not available in store here. Nahema was not available locally for a long time, only now that they have launched them in the new bottles.
@@TheTopNote, excellent! Thank you for your reply. I am happy they have become accessible for you now. If you have time, I would love to hear your review on them, especially Nahema. Jaque Guerlain created it inspired by and as a tribute to Catherine Deneuve, I think he saw her as the epitome of class and beauty. In my opinion the perfume has that special vibe to it. Exquisite. Beautiful through all seasons, as alluring in summer as in dark winter nights. It's wrapped in beauty and mystery. 🧡
@@elowyn9664 it certainly is mysterious! I’m still trying to get my mind around it haha but look forward to providing my thoughts. Any others from the Guerlain range you think I should try and seek out for a sniff?
Guerlain is a great house! But I don't like their new reformulations lately! Some are OK but some are awful👎! And I don't like Thierry wasser creations always! Guerlain is not the same since Jean Paul guerlain has left the house! But your picks are nice👌 cheerio🍸🍹 PS: I think their policy imposed by LVMH is how to save max of money & reducing costs! Even flankers are the same nowadays at guerlain👎

It a blustery, snowy day here. This video made me want to wear Shalimar EDP right away! I love it!
Yay!
Work hard, play hard, buy fragrances! So blessed! It is a beautiful hobby! Terracotta is fab after the bottle ages! Love the new hairdo!

I’m dying to try the new Shalimar but I don’t think it has hit our shores yet

Glad I’m not alone! I find Cabochard more wearable but it’s borderline - some days it’s a no go for the same reason. 😂
I think Shalimar is beautiful. It vaguely reminded me of lolita Land by Lempika but but after smelling them both side by side, I realised Francis Kurkdijian isn't even close. I feel Guerlain perfumes make a woman feel a certain way effortlessly.

💯 I feel so sophisticated in Guerlain
I guess i’ll give Shalimar edt a sniff.... i always test the edp when i go to the store 😁
This was the key to me learning to love Shalimar. I disliked the edp but the edt is much more tame, while still retaining the DNA that makes it a classic.
💯 I find a lot more people seem to enjoy the edt.
A great gathering of Guerlain! What a wonderful collection 👌🏻👌🏻
I've always been interested in the Soufflé variants. Thank-you for showing your Guerlain fragrances. 🤍

Hi! Love your collection and the review, this had me counting mine too, ...and counting, always excited to watch your videos, thanks

Same with Mitsouko edt, it smells strange on me. Not stale smoker’s breath but cold deep fried food.

Oh hahaha well I hope you like it! It’s quite sweet but sort of spicy because of that Benzoin, still has that prominent vanilla though.
