@Ananya Considering your logic here then, I'd say many people here have biig, beautiful eyes but the way this model expresseses hers gives off different vibes which an ordinary person can't pull it off (unless yeah trained in it)
india as the eyeliner capital of the world...
@WidePeepo7 no it doesn't improve your eyesight it kinda protects your eyes and helps clean them. Because natural eye liner called as 'kajal' in India is made from charcoal and it has cleansing agents. So yeah.
@WidePeepo7 eyelashes don't help clean your eyes they just there to protect your eyes. Eyeliner which is chemical free helps keep the eyes cool. Because it is black, it absorbs the heat directed towards eyes.
@WidePeepo7 It really depends on the items you use as eyeliner. Back then Indian would require only oil (along with some props) to make kajal/ eyeliner.
@@IqraKhan-vc7lo That is what I'm trying to say !!! It won't clean the eye like literally cleaning it but it will help keep it clean... By not letting the dust in by capturing the dirt in it as it's texture is such that dust sticks to it rather than going inside your eye!!

One thing I've always admired about India is their incredible ability to blend tradition and culture with modernity. They still pull off modern looks but still retain a traditional vibe and its absolutely beautiful in my opinion. Peace from a Filipino.

I was kinda scared to scroll to the comments thinking I was going see people being racist and disrespecting the culture but I was happy and relieved to see al the nice comments. As an Indian living in U.S. I always felt that I am not that pretty because I am Indian. I wanted to be lighter skinned because I thought that would be the only way I would be pretty. I have always kinda felt embarrassed by my culture because of all the white people making a mockery of it, making stereotype, and telling what my own culture is when it is not that at all. I started to realize how amazing the culture really is as I grew older. I was happy to see my culture and it’s true beauty being recognized. 😊❤️✨
Those who say Indians are toxic should give it a read , we come out as toxic sometimes because for a long time these western people didn't treat us with due respect
i feel you. I'm not Indian, I'm African-American but i do feel where you're coming from. A lot of minorities or people who are not Caucasian often get stereotyped or mistreated because we're different, in the USA. Countries should be recognized for their true beauty and unique culture no matter what part of the world we're from.
No need of feeling ashamed! You should be proud of being borned in such a country, with exquisite tradition and culture.
@Prakhar Thakur Yeah, sad..
I feel you! I'm Indian too, and though I didn't grow up in the USA, I grew up in another foreign country and went through the same rollercoaster of emotions. I'm so proud of our rich heritage now as an adult. I will teach my children to be proud of it so that they don't have to grow up facing the same sort of things we did

@bye girl , Indians women, would never date black men, and they find white people extremely stupid, they have accepted that they are beautiful, that's more important.......
bye girl haha I have see you trolling Indians a lot . Firstly Indians have diversity in skin tone and facial features because they are mixed. India is not a race but a nationality. There are three races in India the indo aryan who are Caucasians and have light brown , olive or some times even pale white skin and some may have light eyes whereas Dravidians are mostly darker shade of brown and found in southern parts of India but the tribals people of north India are also Dravidian. Harshali Malhotra is an indian child actor with pale white skin . Neil Nitin mukesh another indian actor has pale white skin and blonde hair . Hritik Roshan another indian with green eyes and fair skin .
A beautiful country will obviously have beautiful people.

+light Kira hahaha.. you are exactly right. They were whom I was making a dig at with my comment :). I don't mind desi tunes, but I don't know where buzzfeed gets that music from. Its analogous to a caricature version of someone... But their videos are entertaining though.. so can't complain.

I love the fact that that India is one of the only countries thus far whose beauty trends are so different than the Western worlds. Love the variation! :)
RoseEyed I felt that too. While many of the other videos show a slow transition towards western fashion, India seems to have consistently held on to a sense of culture and heritage in its fashion.
Actually, while all the styles were distinctly Indian, they also mirrored the styles from the USA video very closely, at least from the 60s onward.
Honestly, not anymore. In the 90's and even early 2000's India was still completely unique (90s were the golden times of Bollywood too), but now if you take a look at Bollywood & other media culture, everything is slowly turning more Western. It stinks :(
Why does that always happen?
+James F no its not, its the other way round, western countries were influenced by indians, wavy hairstyles, 'indian' hair look, and even eye makeup. USA culture hasnt matured yet to be considered traditional, cultural or hertiage since it is one of the youngest countries in the world.
I seriously believe women from India are so beautiful! I love their fashion, it's just all so gorgeous!
Henry Fung That's were you're wrong, I'm not Indian or any of the sort! And you're a rude person for even saying that about anyone. I was never even implying that men like Indian women, when did I even mention a man's liking in certain women? Never did I ever mention that! And I don't care what American men like! I could care less and no its not true what you said, those are the races you prefer on a women not all white men.
Amber Gomez your not white sweetie, white men prefer a chinese beauty hands down, people are very jealous of chinese/korean women for their beauty. every white man i have met agrees.
+Henry Fung you don't know me nor where I was born okay. So you actually have no right to say that I am not white. Hahaha you fool you're probably not white either I mean with that damn ast name. And I don't care if that's what your friends prefer.
+Henry Fung Your grammar is even off! There are so many mistakes and you're telling me I'm not white? It doesn't matter what race you are at all for anything, people are beautiful all around the world; both men and women. People are going to like what they like in someone and their race isn't going to matter because it shouldn't matter. If you believe it matters you seriously are messed up in thinking. American men love Asian women because it's exotic to them just the same way Asian men are for foreign women; it's just to play. I suggest you just keep quiet, because you wrong in so many ways.
+Henry Fung Did you just deny the fact that SHE thought that indian women were beautiful by giving '''white men'''' opinions ? Jesus that's so pathetic :'D

I see how expressive this girl is with her hands and I love it! Is that a part of Indian culture to make many hand gestures while interacting?
I don't know about the Indian culture but it has to do more about the individual. Anyone can express themselves with hand gestures it just depends on the person not their nationality
ltschmrz. this video rather is more of how Indian actresses look as the years go by. her hand gestures were probably just emulating how the women would dance in the dance sequences in movies :-)
No, I think the series seeks to depict the vogue of each decade in a given country. Celebrities definitely reflect and influence contemporary fashion, but I think these videos mostly aim to show the growing middle classes of their respective countries.
Hand gestures are prominent in traditional schools of Indian dance, so they were included as a representation of the culture and to show off the hand designs (henna, etc).
Hittinum you explanation is much better hehe
espicially in our dances. hand expressions are a big thing. and at parties. like with all the bangles and such

I loved how Indians colonized by British and Portuguese (partly) for quite a long time and yet they still have their culture intact. Look at Indonesia and Philippines, it's kinda rare to see our culture in the society itself, unless you go to more smaller cities. In Indonesia, when someone wear 'kemben jawa' outside the house, she'll be considered not polite, because, you know, the majority here is muslim, and the traditional clothing from Javanese, Sundanese, Balinese, and many sub-Indonesian cultures are against Islamic law of clothing.

I started bollywood dance lessons and I M in love with you India, from your traditions, to your food, places people. Much love from Greece stay safe my friends💕
I love greece, in fact our countries have been exchanging culture, philosophy since around 600 bce, Greeks taught us how to make aesthetic statues, we gave you spices, elephant tusks etc. There were greek buddists who ruled India.
@@niranjansrinivasan4042 Exactly!!! I started reading about Hinduism and Buddhism now as well to get to know the cultures better :)

So basically India's eyebrows & hair been on fleek since forever -- makes total sense considering they basically blessed the Western world with threading and weaves.
On a serious note tho...most of the countries have reflected style being impacted by war, except US -- didn't reflect war(s) or the Depression -- and now India. Just interesting.
Jouelzy yes I love their eyes and eyebrows
I think the fact that the video didn't reflect war is mostly a product of the research done by whoever made this video. The video seems to be inspired more by Bollywood movies and Pop culture rather than everyday Indian women, that could be why it does not reflect war. Because otherwise there has definitely been a lot of war and conflict in Indian since 1910. Some would argue that "India" did not even exist before 1947, it was more like a collection of different city-states, kindomes, because depending on where one is in India, the culture, the languages and the food can completely change. I mean I am from Punjab, and a couple generations ago, it would have been completely impossible for me to connect with somebody from a place like Chennai or Tamil Nadu, because we all speak completely different languages and we would probably not have known Hindi or English unless we were upper-class and educated in private schools, etc. So I think this video mainly reflects Bollywood.
The country has been remade and redefined several different times since 1910s by war and conflict
Harsharn Kaur That's really interesting, thank you! I was wondering how well this video represents everyday Indian women. Apparently, not very well..?
Pandolino no problem
Indians are beautiful no matter whatever the state and gender. Some people won't understand

Indians are beautiful
+fuckoff5311 No hard feelings DUDE....but how can u say that indians are ugly Have u ever been to india.... we have different standards of beauty and that's it... Every Person Is Beautiful... U can't judge them.....
+fuckoff5311
The average indian? when there is a billion , that makes it hard to do a sample test to make averages. This girl is pretty yet average.
Dehumisation of races stems from these racial sterotypes like you and the orginal said
***** then you haven't seen bollywood women or frieda pinto, this girl has even commented on this video herself, claiming she wasn't anything special.
She is not far above the average indian girl, thats absurd comment to make statiscally and us just you trying to make indians look worse than they are.
you actually dissed her
+PlaidHeart She's American.
+fuckoff5311 calm down! Everyone is just being racist here and subjective to beauty. Its not 99.9%. Its more like they all have inner beauty while actors don't because they (usually) turn out fake and rude. America has a lot of rude people like you so you have no right to criticize indians.
I don’t know why but this video and the positive comments uplifted my mood and confidence and I felt more proud of my Indian culture. I randomly decided to wear a traditional dress and take a few photos in it in the mirror and it felt good
I'm a female and i'm in love this woman. She is beautiful TT_TT

CheerUp2 Yeah she's gorgeous!
CheerUp2 beautiful? she is the ugliest woman on earth
Indian women are so animated with their hands and eyes. So beautiful
It's because our ancient dance forms (kathak and bharatnatyam) involve a lot of hand and eye movements to depict stories.
She is so outrageously beautiful.
domo riski aww thank you!
I think the eye and eyebrows makes Indian's more gorgeous
Correct observation.
Very beautiful! Also really cool to see how compared to the other countries, India seems like the country that has been affected the least by world fashion and has very much had its own unique fashion throughout the last 100 years.
Yeah even after 1000 years ruled by foreigners
This comment section is beautiful.

*I'm an Indian. Trust me, they wear blouse under saree!!!*
😂😂
Most women who wore saree didn't wear blouses, even a hundred years ago. Blouse is a recent addition to the regions where sarees have been popular for centuries (eastern and peninsular India). Before a century or two, mostly women from northern and north-western India wore what can be called a blouse. Blouses weren't worn with sarees though. You can still find a few very old women in eastern and peninsular India who don't wear blouses. Indians don't even have native terms for 'blouse'. Blouses are modern, not traditional.
Hahaha
No. Traditionally, no. Come to Bengal or Odisha....u will find saaris without blouse. Blouse became compulsory only after Britishers conquered
So what ?
