    Good effort! I think this was a really great lesson in just how "physical" modern tennis really is, especially on slow red clay. Your opponent was simply physically stronger than you and his shots had more natural weight/heavier spin, even though you were better at flattening out your shots and taking more risk.
    IMO, in terms of the bigger picture, you need to find at least two 4-week training blocks (possibly even 3) over the course of a full year where your PRIMARY focus is on gaining total body strength, with an extra emphasis on your legs, core and shoulders. One of the biggest benefits of all strong US college tennis programs, aside from the competition, is their emphasis on off court weight training for strength and power. Just my 2 cents.
    All the best and I look forward to watching your continuing journey!

    • @youngsuit
      @youngsuit 2 роки тому +4

      I like the idea but it's just so hard to find blocks like that with how long the tennis season is. Maybe November December but there isn't much off season so sometimes it means trying to figure out how to manage a year round sustainable program. Getting knocked out of tournaments can help too

    Felix, you have to include net-playing much more to your game strategy, mixed with slow balls, shorter balls and drop shots. Get creative. And analyse Federer's gameplay! Tennis has a lot to do with probability calculation. If your opponent makes less mistakes you have to change your strategy. In such cases get creative or loose. Last thing, tennis has all to do with confidence. Get your opponent to doubt himself. Make him think!

    Sup bro. Thanks for the content, as always!! I had the impression that was your most consistent match even though you got tired at the end. You are in the right path. Things i think you should talk to your coach : following the idea of staying more in the point like you did, you have to get the control of the point more often but without risking too much, just using ball high and depth so then you can approach the net more often mid point, in good conditions of winning the point and putting pressure on your opponent. Keep it up buddy, your 1st point is getting closer. See you in ur nxt vid ✌️

    I don't think taking risk and going for winners on many of the key points was always the correct choice. Yeah top players won't miss on those key points but you could wait for a slightly easier ball before going for a more attacking shot, slowly building up the rally. Also now you are getting used to the pace of these matches, I would try and slow yourself down a little so you're breathing and thinking more about shot selection, and play for more angles and waiting for your opponent to move or mis read your shot selection - easier said than done but I think this could help you.

  • @tolisnet
    @tolisnet 2 роки тому +1

    Try to use more legs to your shots. Look how down he gets to get another form of body stand. This might has more contol and heavy return than run to get the ball on high.. Get more time ... On serve too.. You are having great progress !!! Congrats & Enjoy

  • @thomasrebotier1741

    It looks like your risk-taking ("decisiveness") pays off early in the game when you are fresh and your game is still an unknown. But when you lose even a bit of edge due to physical overdoing, your luck runs out on these choices. I'm sure that with more matching, adjustments will fall in place; practice can't really help there, but being aware of the factors that make you ace or fail should.

    Well played. Here's my quick analysis. You played a little bit too much into his strengths by letting him continue to push you back. Against players like that, you need to commit to your court positioning and continue to play aggressive. It's way easier said than done because that weight of shot is going to continue to come at you, but you have to use your feet to get in position to take the ball early and take away time from your opponent. You did really well on points that you came to net on and when you mixed things up with the serve and volley. A player for you to watch, just judging by your game style is Alex DiMinaur. Watch the way he moves on the court and hugs the baseline. Bottom line, commit to being aggressive, use that forehand, and keep looking for opportunities to move forward.
