    Very few people can talk about mouse feet for almost 20mins, and not end up waffeling. The info in this vid was top tier and we really appreciate it.

    Bought obsidian air pro donuts a while ago for cloth pad usage and completely agree with you, it's unusable on cloth pads... Way too sticky

      The donuts are 10x worse on cloth pads, amazing for hard pads though!

    Hey man great video as always
    Do the obsidian air pro donuts wear out cloth pads faster than regular ptfe skates?

    • @mel0nFPS
      @mel0nFPS  2 місяці тому

      Hey! I don't advise using the Air Pros on fabric pads as the UHWMPE material is very high friction. So they'll feel sticky for lack of a better word. I don't know if it'd damage a surface over time, I'd depend on the pad. But regardless stick to the non-air pro skates for fabric pad usage.

    So if I want optimal control on glass I should opt for Obsidian Air Pro Donuts instead of the simple dot version since there's more contact point right (if I understood correctly)?
    Tysm in advance and excellent video was a pleasure to watch.

    • @mel0nFPS
      @mel0nFPS  Місяць тому

      Hey! The donuts will be more controlled due to their larger surface area. Id say one donut skates is equal to like 2.5 dots but it'll vary slightly.
      Just keep in mind the sizing limitations on the donuts, on some mice you can fit more dots than donuts. Hope that helps!

    Another great and comprehensive review as always. I'd love to get your opinion on the best skate for my ATK Sky XSOFT pad. I've tested Jade Dots and Obsidian Air Dots on my pad and noticed my aiming was much more inconsistent with Jades over Obsidian Air and the lack of control made me lose most of close range fights in COD and other FPS shooters. I'm currently using an ATK X1 Ultra (similar shape to Razer Viper V3 Pro), and I'm happy with the level of control and glide I get with Obsidian Air Dots, but the issue is the mouse can sink into the mousepad and mess up my tracking (this was way worse on Jade Dots). What skate do you recommend to get? Do you think the Obsidian Air Donuts are an improvement over what I have? I'm waiting for some inputs before I make a decision and get some other sets, but I don't think I can fit more than 4 donut skate on my mouse🤔, but I'm open to ideas 😄.

    • @mel0nFPS
      @mel0nFPS  Місяць тому +1

      Obsidian Air Donuts will be the way to go! You also don't need to use as many donuts as you do dots often (1 donut = ~2-3 dots). The only thing you need to check for is making sure the X1 Ultra has skate cutouts big enough for the donuts.
      Hope that helps!

    • @ArmanM-ly7xn
      @ArmanM-ly7xn Місяць тому

      @@mel0nFPS Thanks for the advice. I think the skate cutouts on X1 Ultra are big enough for donuts. So I've gone ahead and bought a set of Obsidian Air Donuts and will report back the results in a week or two. When can we expect a review on their new upcoming mousepad (the yellow color) that will be released next week?

      @@ArmanM-ly7xn No ETA on that, not even sure if I'm getting a unit. I have a pretty big backlog right now so even if I get one it'll be a while before I get to it sadly.

    Fantastic video, quick question however; as you mentioned with the sizing of the skates, I've been using the Jade Donut skates on my X2H since the beginning of the year and they seemed to fit and are still serving me well. If I'm looking into either the Obsidian Air Pro Donuts or Obsidian Air Pro dots for the Tekkusai The Beast glass pad coming out, which would you recommend if I still plan to use the X2H?

    • @mel0nFPS
      @mel0nFPS  25 днів тому

      For the BEAST I'd use the Obsidian Pro Air Donuts or Dots as the pad is borderline uncontrollably fast, could use the Obsidian air skates too but if you want a slightly faster experience, but it'll be up to personal preference.

    I am using the center piece of the donut skate as mini dots and it seems to be working fine. What is the downside to doing so? I know you mentioned it would catch on the mousepad, but this would not be an issue on a glasspad right?

    Hey mel0n, I'm thinking of picking up an AC Pro Mid Neon to replace my AC2 Sakura and I'm using stock EGG OP1 8k skates should I go for Obsidian Air dots or donuts? I only play Valorant on 40cm/360. I want something slightly faster than my current setup without giving up too much control.

    • @mel0nFPS
      @mel0nFPS  2 дні тому

      Donuts would be the best fit as they'll be slightly faster than the OP1's stocks but they'll give you a decent amount of control, I'd go for the Obsidian versions, but since you're using a soft-pad you can get the cheaper red ones instead of the Air versions!

    I've only used dots so far (Obsidian and corepad) but I'm curious if I should try donuts instead as I'm looking at the air/air pro. I play on a razer atlas, so only glass, no cloth. I feel like the donuts would catch any dust that's on the pad easier as they technically have more surface for it to get stuck on, what's your experience with that?

    • @mel0nFPS
      @mel0nFPS  Місяць тому

      I wouldn't say the donuts attract more dust and dirt, but due to their higher surface area I guess you'd hit specs more frequently. Personally speaking I haven't run into any issues with the donuts skates. A good way to prevent anything from happening though is to wipe the pad and the bottom of the mouse off with a microfiber cloth before use, that really helps to keep dust and pet hair issue to a minimum.

    • @mel0nFPS

      You can if you want or you can leave it in, makes no difference in my experience. I only really remove the central dot if I'm installing the donut over a screw or something.

    • @mel0nFPS
      @mel0nFPS  Місяць тому

      Personally speaking I'd go for faster skates like the Jade Air dots on more controlled pads like the GSR-SE. but you can totally use Obsidians for a more controlled experience if you'd like, it'll really depend on personal preference.

      @@mel0nFPS any difference between the ruin and the infinite speed? I couldn’t quite tell from the website, it seemed like maybe they’re the same pad with a diff graphic. The only difference I see is that infinite speed allows you to choose mid or soft, so I’m guessing the ruin would be the same as the soft surface?
