2015 Chrysler 200 2.4
Hey what's up guys! Bringing you another vid.....This 15 Chrysler 200 was towed in on "3" wheels. Somehow all the lugs nut managed to be missing, unless someone else did it.......the hub bearing got damaged because of that. Anyway I'm gonna show you guys how to replace the left/right front hub bearing in a matter of minutes.
Tools used:
basic tools
pry bar
36mm axle nut socket
E14 inverted torx
16mm 12 point wrench (long wrench)
PB Blaster
Hex Bit socket
Impact gun
Electric impact 3/8
Hub bearing was purchased from my local parts store. Brand: MOOG

Good work. Literally can’t find a Haynes manual for these yet.
I took my car to PEP boys in Lakewood CA, and they quoted me $780 to fix this. $500 just for the part. I looked up the parts ....cost $124 at autozone... fixed it myself. Plus $24 for PEP Boys front end inspection and it cost me all of $150. Car has 104,000 miles on it.
How does it sound when the bearing is going bad because i think i have that problem now ?
@@adean7612 ...car vibrates. Feels like a tire isn't balanced
@@yushawan and you can feel it when you turn ? And also it’s loud when i crank the car up on a cold start
@@adean7612 ...I'm not a mechanic, so unfortunately I wouldn't be able to help you with anything more than what I've told you.
To use the 36mm socket, if I don't have an air impact, can I use a battery impact?
Excellent video. Thanks man.
👍🏽
I think that’s what’s wrong with mine I can barely hit a bump and the raddle noise drives me crazy is that a sign that it’s bad when it make that noise like somethings knocked Loose?
thanks for the video really helpful!
Thanks for watching!!!!
Did they not tighten the lugs correctly, or was the hub just bad... how many miles did the Car have

Thanks man - This video helped me get a start on my 14 Cherokee.. Very similar... Only difference is - 2 different bearing types ( offroad, non-offroad) The rest was on point.
Could you do a video of replacing a anti-bar bushing
No abs wire?
Good looking bro
I have the same year making a lot of noise, I'm pretty sure mines on the passenger side. Is it done the same way on the pasanger side?
In this video it seems like the driver side, but my front passenger side is starting to act weird.
I had the same problem and I changed it with the help of your vid and thank you but now having problems with abs and wheel sensor on the front driver side. Any fixes???
Just get the sensor replaced I had 2 of them replaced so far.
Have you been able to fix the issue I did this yesterday and similar problems came up.
Just had mines replace on my 2015 and now my abs, traction, engine and park brake light came on any clue on what could have went wrong ?
Abs sensor could've been damaged during install of the hubs? I'd check there first!
I have a 2011 Chrysler the wheel bearing did not want to come out the actual was stuck in it as I was trying to get the ball joints out the axlel still would not come out but now the axle is broken so I had it towed to the shop
Great vid man!
Thanks for watching bro!
Thank you
Goodwork
THIS VIDEO HELPS IF YOU STRIP YOUR HUBS
AS WELL
UNDO THE AXLE NUT
PUSH AXLE BACK
UNDO THE 4 HUB BOLTS
UNDO CALIPER BOLTS
GRIND OR DRILL OUT OLD LUG BOLTS
It’s crazy this same thing happened to my Chrysler 200
What happened, did the wheel just fall off? I have a 2016 and my wheel started feeling weird. I've taken in to get looked at but everyone says there's nothing wrong but they do notice something is off
Thanks!
what size is that inverted torx for the caliper bolts?
T 14 inverted
I have the same car in black and the front right hub got the same problem. Seems like it's a common one for this model yeah
JM C front right for me. Very loud rub.
And don’t forget to buy e socket set not just the e14 socket you will need the e20 socket to removed the brake pads
My 99 Honda Accord 20 years with the same bearing and now 2020 starting to go bad that's quality
Does the bearing rattle when its worm on this car also
T Jone Mine is just a loud rub
I think that’s a start of it 🤔 mines started with a rattle sound before it actually got bad bad
Should you replace both sides at the same time
Says who?
No wheel studs on your new hub assembly?
No. This is a ''studless'' hub assembly
Leekautorepair are you able to put the wheel studs in after the rotor is on?
Austin Gray Yes. The lug nuts are actually wheel studs
Leekautorepair cool. I've never seen that style set up before.
It's your European design like like a Volvo
Followed the method gor it done but now all kinds off dashboard lighta come on..help!
Did u disconnect something?
@@Leekautorepair I didn't. The service transmission, service abs, service hand break and traction control lights are on
@@xmortale abs not hooked up correctly this car did not have abs
It’s it really a 36 mm for the axle nut or 32 mm?
axle nut is 35.9mm, so 36mm socket is correct
my axle nut is so stuck on there thanks to midas. its impossible to get off. already broke a breaker bar.
Heat is your friend!
@@Leekautorepair I'll have to try that. Wish me luck man.
Lol. Used a pneumatic wrench on axle nut and from what I see that only got to about 100 foot pounds not even close. He had to hammer the nut to make it stay because this is going to fly off thanks to him not torquing it correctly
Seems like these 200's have some serious suspension flaws from my experience. Such a young vehicle to have bearings going out already. Nice video though!
Cheap car garbage that's why
Agreed
Just had a wheel bearing swapped out and it's already bad again after 1 month of driving. What a piece of crap car.
Chrysler 200 just badly engineered car.
It's a Chrysler/dodge...did you expect any different?
BTW.. www.showmetheparts.com/timken/ to help reference torque specs when mounting the new assy if you dont have an FSM handy
Whats a job like this cost. nice job on repair
Mark Anderson I think the dealer charges 300
The mopar part is about 320.00,,, auto parts store about 100.00 same part. Parts+ labor can bump 500-600 at the dealer, I was happy to do it at home for the cost of the bearing and some beer
Wish I had the proper tools to do this.. My front left bearing just failed, again, for the 3rd time in under 2 years.. :(
Wow
Odell Goodman-Bey my exact response.. Have a feeling another one is going to go out soon..
What bout the lug nuts???? u forgot to put them
I just did the replacement on my 2016 Chrysler 200 and now I’m getting all the warning lights on the dash
Jose Lopez did you figure it out having same problem at the moment
I’m having the same problem
@@rortega121191 Did you find a resolution to that issue?
I'm getting ready to do this. I don't want to have the same issue. Did this ever get resolved?
@@meen318 My wheel hub assembly was supposed to come with a wheel speed sensor, but did not, so it didnt get replaced. I ordered one (www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=10102908&cc=3310286&jsn=10) and it cleared
not a professional, your mileage may vary, if it goes wrong, your on your own.
Did it sound like someone blowing into a glass bottle
Shiz, muthtruckers, hell yeah, fixing my shiz, muthtruckers. Great content, but maybe hold camera steady, and work on the language. Still better than I could though! Lol
Sexy car..but a pos in reliability
I've had mine for 3 years and it's been perfect. It is the 3.6l with awd which I hear is better than the 2.4l FWD
Mines the 3.6 awd also..put 45k on it last year alone and only replaced breaks and rotors. It's a great car
It is a very good car until you hit 100k range. Oil cooler is made of plastic and a total piece of crap. Get you an upgraded Dorman oil cooler and takes care of that. The wheel hub will go bad on most any car in time so that's just a thing period. Besides that it is pretty rock solid. That is besides the weak ass 8 gear transmission and its hard shifts.
Too much cussing
Can this be done without an E14 hex? Will a regular socket work?
U can use a 12 point socket. Not sure of the size tho
