New Tie Rod from 1AAuto.com trq.video/ia-1...
This video shows you how to replace the inner tie rods on your 2001-2007 Volvo V70. The inner tie rod has a ball joint that can wear over time, causing a clunking noise, loose steering, and eventually, other problems with the wheel and suspension components. It’s a good idea to replace your inner tie rods as soon as you notice any of these symptoms.
This repair was done on a 2001 Volvo V70 X/C 2.4L Wagon 4-Door AWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2001 Volvo V70
2002 Volvo V70
2003 Volvo V70
2004 Volvo V70
2005 Volvo V70
2006 Volvo V70
2007 Volvo V70

Great video! I was stuck, trying to use an adjustable wrench to loosen the tie rod and you used a pair of pliers and that worked great.
Great clean clear video!
Is there a risk of damaging the steering rack when tightening the inner tie rod? Volvo calls for a special counterhold tool, but i have heard mixed opinions about this.
What kind of grease is used on the joint? Ceramic, copper or aluminum? Is the anti seize aluminum paste?
Have you ever heard of having to break the outer tie rods in order to get the inner tie rods? This is what I was told and the reason given for why I had to replace them both.
The outer tie rods don’t have to get “broken” but you must remove them in order to replace the inner tie rod ends. So if your outer tie rods ends are old you might as well replace them while you’re doing the inner tie rod ends instead of having to revisit the job again soon down the line.
