Hey, just wanted to say I just stumbled across Stage Traxx a few days ago and man am I so glad I did! I am a Guitar player and have been wanting to try doin a one man band kinda thing playing with pro made backing tracks. I’ve tried some other apps for this, but either they don’t have the functionality I want, or are so complicated that even after watching instructional vids I just can’t figure them out. Stage Traxx has solved all that, I was very easily able to import a backing track, add a lyric to it and timestamp the lyrics. I paid for the pro version within minutes of trying it out. I even understand how to add midi to it (I’m very much a midi noob), which I may try sometime to send patch changes to my amp modeler. The audio regions are a great feature, I plan to use them to highlight solo regions in songs to just help make it easier to see when solos are coming or ending. One specific song I think they will really help with is Bill Withers Ain’t no sunshine. There is a section where he sings “I know” about 50 times lol I’ve been wondering how the heck am I gonna know when that is ending but now I will be able to id that section with an audio region and see exactly when it is ending. Thank you so much for this app, more than worth the cost.
This is a great feature for a solo artist! I’m asking a Bluetooth foot switch so I can loop the sections until. I want to go on. I’ve had ST3 for a while now but the addition of this feature will make it my go-to app for gigging. Thank you.
I am impressed with everything this app does, I am looking for exactly this, to do events, mostly guitar and voice with background tracks, I have some questions, how many songs can be created, is there a limit? I need to cover a repertoire to start with about 300 songs and then go up to 500 or more, that's a lot of material!!! Can it be organized by categories? For example, blues, rock, acoustic, artists of different styles and genres and sync it via midi with my TC Helicon 3 extreme? On the other hand, and very important, is there a forum or support link where other users can share backup of their songs? As I said, I have to add hundreds of songs and it would be a great help if a significant part of them were already ready to add! I just want to congratulate you again for the great app you have developed!
You read my mind! I was going to ask you if we could have some regions default to looping, like for me, I need every intro already looping, and then when the singer or instrumentalist is good and ready to start the verse I hit the note number that takes it out of that loop. But you already had that I was happy to see. Amazing! Your great! I was also thinking of using A default loop for the fermata, or Birdseye
Only if you have another region defined directly after the one you want to skip. In that case just tap on that region and playback will jump to it on the next region border.
Hi Peter stage Traxx is great 1 question please is it at all possible to turn the volume off a click intro without altering the volume of the song thanks Tom
Hi Peter, I'm considering purchasing Stage Traxx 3 and starting to use it regularly. I've been using the demo version and I really love how it helps me organize my backing tracks. I have a suggestion for a potential improvement that could make the app even more useful. I was wondering if it would be possible for Stage Traxx 3 to import time and marker arrangement information from Logic, and automatically recognize and match the audio regions to the Logic session. This would be a game-changer for me and I believe for many other users who use both Logic and Stage Traxx 3. Thank you for creating such an amazing app and hope you consider my suggestion.
@@stagetraxx Well, as far as I know the AIFF file contains complete data about everything in the session. (I believe the markers too,) Maybe the Logic documentation has more about that, I'll check that out. Perhaps you could also check, if possible.
@@its_me_mari0 I couldn't find anything. Maybe they write it into id3 tags? I will take a look at it but doubt that I will find it there. AIFF is a proprietary file format by Apple and I except that they use some internal extensions to that file format to store this information.
@@stagetraxx I just saw here that the AIFF is split into several chunks. Each chunk is identified by a chunk ID more broadly referred to as FourCC. One of these pieces are markers, that is, in addition to the ID3 tags, there is the information isolated from the markers as well. I think since Stage Traxx is an app that runs on IOS/Mac OS the AIFF format works, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just trying to help here, hopefully we can figure it out or some user who reads this comment in the future
@@its_me_mari0 Yes, AIFF works, but I don't have access to these extra chunks. I would need to parse the files myself manually. I don't think this is worth the effort at the moment.
Hello Peter, I might missed something about the regions but isn't it a good idea to just stick to the song tempo where you shouldn't set up regions by hand but just put the markers in the appropriate measures or measures parts? That'd speed up the process pretty much I think.
@@stagetraxx Ok Peter, thanks for clear comments. Hope this feature will be available in future updates. Thanks for your excellent product anyway. It releifs a lot in live work!
@@kurbaburba What I will evaluate for version 3.8 is whether it might be possible to import markers from the audio files. Logic writes tempo and markers to exported files so maybe it is possible to load these directly. No promises though.
I would love to be able to copy instances of the audio range to a second instance of the song. I have two instances; one with a lead and one without a lead. This is purely for practise purpose. The audio range is really useful when practising, but find it tiresome having repeat the loop sequences on the two backing tracks. Hoping you have a shortcut. BTW - fantastic app Peter, I have used it for a long while now and nothing comes close to the power of the app.
Not sure I understand your requirement. You want to copy all regions from one song to another? But that would only work if both songs have the exact same length. Maybe you might want to take a look at multitrack songs. Just add the lead as a second track and then you can easily mute this track instead of clogging up your song list with song copies.
@@stagetraxx Just an Idea if you can include vocal Cues when assigning loop sections of the song from within the program. see video below. Also when in playback mode is there a way to zoom the wav file so I can see the assigned loop sections. find it too small. Expandable windows
@@adrianferrer6168 I can't see a video attached. But I think vocal cues would require some kind of text to speech engine. Zooming is unfortunately not possible with the current layout I am using. But it is on my long term todo list for a future version.
Hello again Peter, since our last comment, I have been crazy busy uploading my mp3 tracks onto Stage traxx full version, really astonished at the work and effort you have put into this, I'll be honest with you here and so that maybe others will benefit from this, and that is the sound on playback, I have a good many tracks from world renowned Karaoke version, and I notice when performing live, the sound is just not there with many of Karaoke version. Tracks, I play back tracks too brought from recording studios and they can differ in sound but still sound more than good enough to play live, some may say I'm playing my tracks back through a bad PA system, I'm using the all new 9 series RCF's 935A and I'm going direct from my Ipad gen 9 to the Mixing Desk which is Dynacord, first of all is this OK what I'm doing or should I be running to a Di box first I was shocked when I heard one of the tracks in got from karaoke version it was lacking completely and I was live, I went to settings and EQ settings, everything was straight down the middle, then I pressed parametric and was greeted by a whole load of lines and I quickly veered away I moved one of these parametic levels but nothing happend 🤔 do effect not como to play while in playback, it just scared me, So now I gave over 300 songs on my new ipad and skeptical on performing live on a good few of them until I get to understand fully where levels should be at to get the best FOH as possible, do you have a full tutorial on how to actually set all these levels and what they actually do, another is when In songs at the bottom there is a level slider, I moved this and it turned yellow, do this only effect the song playing or right across the board, so many teething problems on first usage, but I know its only till I get to know how and why and for what purpose to move eq's , I'll make a copy of this and post on forum Peter, or is it just me blowing off here, I'm just bringing to the table my experience I had on my first gig with Stage Traxx 3, Peter again I have to say, the software is absolutely magic, But I need to learn how to master this and know what will suit and where to steer clear from. I would not blame you if you or anyone did not take the time to read my waffle 🤔😉
Trying to do this audio edit and on my iPad the red play head doesn’t move ; the entire sound wave is moving. Tried different settings but still no change.

Don't know if I'm missing something, but how do I group songs together? if you've a set list with 20 songs, how do you get Stag Traxx 3 to play in sections? EG Intro song plays then stops. You talk to audience, introduce next song Song 2/3/4 play one after another and then stop at the end of 4? How do you set that.
You create a playlist. In the playlist you can define for each song if you want to automatically play the next song or not (see the Autoplay feature in the manual).
I like it, and I need it! Thank you, Peter
The loooong wait is over. So happy with this update. Keep it up!

You need to grab the playhead at the top of the screen above the waveform.
