Peter, I’ve been a beta tester for Stage Traxx from V2 and a heavy user (I’m on the forum as beejaywh) many of the current features are things asked for by myself. I wanted to say in a public area such as this how appreciative I am of the thousands of hours you have put into this software which I use to put food on my table as a professional full time musician. It’s super reliable and the best software I have used on any platform for me as a solo performer and as a band member. I really appreciate the new file transfer system. Keep up the excellent work.
I am impressed with everything this app does, I am looking for exactly this, to do events, mostly guitar and voice with background tracks, I have some questions, how many songs can be created, is there a limit? I need to cover a repertoire to start with about 300 songs and then go up to 500 or more, that's a lot of material!!! Can it be organized by categories? For example, blues, rock, acoustic, artists of different styles and genres and sync it via midi with my TC Helicon 3 extreme? On the other hand, and very important, is there a forum or support link where other users can share backup of their songs? As I said, I have to add hundreds of songs and it would be a great help if a significant part of them were already ready to add! I just want to congratulate you again for the great app you have developed!
Hi Peter Thank you! Stage traxx has been a life saver. What happens if I delete all audio files from iCloud but leave full back up? Trying to create more space on my iPad.
I love your software so much i bought it for all my band mates. but i might be having a moment. when i try sharing songs, i go to the source iPad, go to files, go to the stage traxx 3 directory. i select the file and share via air drop. on the receiving iPad it just ask if it is allowed to receive. i then go to the receiving pad and add the song, and it loses all its meta data. i see where you are talking about a .sta file, but i don't know where that file is located or how to create it. i did look through the manual, but i just don't get it.
Enable Edit mode in the song list, select the songs you want to export and then tap on the share button in the toolbar. This will create a single stsa file with all selected songs.

how do you transfer a track from a play list to another playlist in the same I pad NOT to another I pad. So I have several playlists. One has all the tracks and then there are others with a selection of those songs such as slow balads fast songs and maybe certain atistes. So I then want to add a track to say slow balads from the pl[aylist with all the songs in it?
hi Peter, can you please tell me how to replace an audio file without loosing lyrics, time codes, chords, etc, I know I'm supposed to overwrite the existing file when importing but I don't know how to get to that. I import the Mp3 file from my drive and it simply duplicates the song in Stagetraxxx, one with the data and one empty... help please!
Hi Peter. I've just purchased a Widi Jack whcih I've plugged into my Helix. Set up ST3 on Macbook and it's working great. I've then tried to transfer ST3 backup to the iPad, The Ipad successsfully loaded the ST3 database, however it's not sending midi data to the Helix. If I check the Bluetooth Midi devices in STG3 (on ipad), it only shows the MacBook Pro (with a status of Offline). It can't see the Widi Jack. Thoughts?
You need to connect your Widi Jack with the new iPad. Device connections are done at iOS level and that's not something that could be part of a backup.

Bin nach wie vor sehr zufrieden mit der „alten“ App. Doch das neue sieht mir sehr vielseitiger am nutzen und der Verwendung aus als die erste Version . Die erste Version läuft bei den Settings ja auf deutsch…ist das mit dem stagetraxx 3 auch geplant das ich auf deutsch umstellen kann? Oder kann man es sogar schon auf deutsch einstellen? Da so viel Neuerungen geboten sind wäre es mir lieber ich hätte es auf deutsch…Englisch geht zwar auch…aber in deutsch wäre es gerade bei extended Einstellungen wesentlich einfacher für mich. Leider gibt es Version 3 nur auf Englisch. In Version 2 war die Pflege der deutschen Lokalisierung sehr aufwendig und da nur ein sehr geringer Teil der User Deutsch spricht, habe ich in Version 3 darauf verzichtet.

@@mikewancura Das ist sehr einfach. Beide brauchen Stage Traxx 3 als Vollversion. Der eine geht in Settings und aktiviert "Host Session" und der andere geht in Settings und wählt "Join Session". Das war's dann auch schon :)

So...ich schwöre...wirklich letzte Frage...wir spielen viel eben mit files für das wir das stagetraxx verwenden...jetzt ist es so das wir ab und zu auch unplugged was zum besten geben. Kann ich da auch was machen das ich nur den Text und chords anzeigen lassen kann ohne einen Track abspielen muss? Könnte eine leere Spur mit zb 3-4 min laufen lassen sodass i nebenbei den Text hätte...das wäre eine umständliche Variante...aber geht's auch einfacher? Danke nochmal...hast mir aber trotzdem schon seeeehr geholfen!!! lg mike
4:27 This prompt for adding tracks to Stage Traxx used to come up when I airdropped to my ipad from my Macbook. Now this no longer happens. Is there please a way to enable this feature again? I've tried restarting, reinstalling, I've even been on the phone to Apple for over an hour to try and solve this but it's not a problem with Airdrop. Please help if you can.
When you Airdrop something to your iPad, you always get a prompt asking what to do with the file? So if you do not see the Stage Traxx option, just save it in Files and then restore it from Stage Traxx.
Hello again Peter, I created my first multi-track song and it plays fine on my Macbook. However after I Airdropped it to my iPad and tried to play the song it gives me a "file read error" for each of the six audio files. All six files have the same sample rate (44.1 kHz) and the song is shaded red in song list. Can you suggest what I might be doing wrong?
There is a bug in the current version of Stage Traxx. Restoring a song export does not automatically create the multitrack folder used to store the tracks. This will be fixed in version 3.7. For now add an audio file as a track to the imported song. This will create the folder. Then delete that song and import the file again.
Hi Peter, I do a duo and a solo show, sometimes I use the same backing tracks on both but with different equipment. I’m wondering do I have to duplicate the same mp3s but retitle them so I can use different midi devices etc. (ie) can I use the same mp3 with different meta data.
Actually you would need to copy and rename the audio files. I don't think that's very practical. What I would suggest is to configure your midi devices so that each listens on its own midi channel. Then you can just add midi commands for all your devices into one song and whatever devices you have connected will receive their midi commands.
Hello Peter. When I click the share icon to Airdrop songs from MacBook Pro to iPad I do not get the same pop-up as in your demo. Instead it only gives me the "save as" option, whereby I must first save the file to hard drive and subsequently I can then share it via Airdrop. Do you know how I can eliminate this extra step? Please advise. Thanks. J

The full version has no limit on songs. Songs can not be shared on the internet due to copyright reasons.

You can delete your audio files from iCloud. The full backup contains all your audio files.

You can do that in the Files app. Select the new file, tap on copy, then navigate to the Stage Traxx 3 folder and tap on paste.

The best solution is a usb audio interface. What also works is a cheap usb-c to audio adaptor (like the 10$ adaptor from Apple).

@@BandTheBoulevard The minimum requirement is iOS13. So any device running with iOS13 (iPad Air 2 and newer) will be fine.

How do you reset the playlist so that I don't see the "done" songs on the next gig? Thanks.
Open the History tab and tap on the "Clear" button. If you don't need the DONE marker, you can disable it completely in User Interface Settings.

Can I save and share a song that I have edited ? So does the pitch down stays ? Right now when I share it it goes back to the original key….
When you export it as a file with the file ending .stsa through the share menu, all metadata including pitch is exported.

MacOS does not have this type of share dialog. You always need to first save it to a file and then right click and Airdrop it.
