The irony of a protoss player opening DTs complaining about cloaked widow mines 😅
Then they press scan every time on lower levels since they forget to drop mules often. Observer just gets hit by mine because neither player is paying much attention
heavy invest that if not paying of probably loosing u the game vs minimal invest that can win u the game with 1 shot into the enemies worker line.
totally comparrable. typical terran player brain
6:22 "Trade Info:" For an adept getting killed on its own in the middle of the map actually made me cackle
But the trade info sucks: sometimes "for protoss" means that protoss lost less, sometimes it means protoss lost more. It seems to switch from one fight to the next. Already noticed it in the last videos.
I see that and raise you 18:33-19:00.
@@aikiseppukuit usually says -whatever if the submitter gets a bad trade and +whatever if the submitter gets a good trade.
Chronoing your probes after full saturation can help you get a second base up and running. Signing up for Tinder can help you get a second girlfriend up and running.
Yeah, but you're her 10th boyfriend.
"i knowingly walked my entire army into widow mines twice and lost for some strange odd reason"
also after he killed my army , I sent every unit I rebuilt to attack his army, but he killed them all , So his army was imba and prevented me from rebuilding my army.
my army didn't remember there were mines there! It's like they expect me to micromanage the movement of my units.
He calls it 'sniping' his observers when they are the only thing on the screen. The Terran killed observers that were chilling in the middle of the map.
the reason he lost had nothing to do with mines tho lol
From the title, I thought the submitter was playing against the AI and lost. I think that would be a pretty funny bronze level submission.
same 😂
Ai is actually pretty decent. Takes high gold/low plat to beat it consistently, just macro wise.
You are not alone, my friend! :D
@@emissarygw2264 I don't know about that, the A.I itself can be extremely hit or miss but then again, I also haven't played SC2 in years, so it's probably had some improvements since I last played but the difficulty setting of the A.I felt extremely hit or miss, easy made them more or less brain dead effectively never attacking you unless they know they can win in a fight, medium however they went from braindead to MLG because my first match against a medium A.I around the five minute mark (probably way off because it's been so long and my memory has degraded from that) and when I look towards my ramp I catch a glimpse of TWO Archons heading my way with barely anything to actually counter this push coming my way and it was the FIRST attack by the way because again the A.I felt like they would only push you if they knew that they could win that fight.
@@cursedhawkins1305 It is hit or miss because it does different builds, luck will be a factor. If you don't try to exploit it and just play a straight game it can be good for practicing macro as a total beginner. We are of course assuming the highest non cheat difficulty of AI. Anything below is just piss easy.
In response to the section about disarming mines (19:30 to 20:25), I feel this neglects an even easier, less micro required, and lower tech option:
Hallucinate some units and move them in front of your army.
I was really hoping that that'd get covered as a way to disarm mines because of how inexpensive it is and how much hassle it can save.
Another easy way is to have the observers not follow your army, but instead follow a colossus. They'll reveal the mines before the colossus steps on them and the colossus easily outranges the mines. You do have to do a little micro to make them follow a different colossus if the one they were following dies but I'd say that's less micro overall than the disruptor strategy
Especially if you float 600-1k gas at almost all points. T had no vision, I've had people Idra gg on me just because I was trying to tank, and they thought I did magic in a bunch of immortals.
I hate Widow Mines.
I don't hate them because they're imbalanced, I hate them because they're annoying to deal with.
That's all I have to say. Thanks for reading!

19:33 This was so funny! And now I have an idea for beating grandmasters with stupid stuff: you gotta play with 1 hand down your pants.
you want him to do WHAT?
@12:13
"This is like selling your car because you forgot where you put your shoes" 🤣😂
Harstem you're the best haha 😆
7:08 That one Adept and two DTs chasing the whole Terran army is a Star Wars moment. That Adept is Han Solo! Screaming and charging head on, he managed to scare a whole group of Storm Troopers... and DTs are his huge balls ;)
Imagine Turnip reading the title of this video and clicking to enjoy some quality Harstem content then realising it's him
poor guy got absolutely flamed 😂
I waited 3 weeks for this and when I saw the title and card I went "ohhhh shit."
Through the mines of hell
As we make our way towards Terran
through the widow mines

29:02 The OK stamp is captioned "Rammus." Absolutely love it.
Ok.
The Protoss operator looked really eager to know Protoss strategies from harstem, he also looked like him, I can see a great future for him. We definetly need more videos with him as he can surely show us that not only Hasrtem can solve such things! More videos for Protoss operator!
You can tell exactly how this is going to go after he said he ran his army into the widow Mines twice
"...was forced to run..."
It's the game's fault for not remembering mines for him. It always did before this so he was surprised by it, apparently.
But I am a little jealous of his name. That is a clever name. I always think of a clever name but it's taken so I panic and pick something stupid.
and what's worse is the mines were a side thing most of the time. Not even the main threat or killer
I remember that one time in 3v3 where the enemy protoss just flew his ENTIRE skytoss army into my random clump of widow mines in the middle of the map. He was very salty about it.
This one was fertile ground for sure, and you grew wonderful content out of it.
The Tinder joke and Hamster's follow-up annotation killed me XD
Commenting from hell, thanks to Harstem XD
damn, despite his earlier errors with the mines, I thought this P player was actually rather good until 22:30 and onwards when he suddenly brainfarted or something...
What happened? Did he suddenly have the urge to go to the toilet or had to leave urgently, so he tried to close the game as quickly as possible?
Honestly, that's the impression I'm getting.
Check the other comments, he explained.
@@jeffreywarf I don't see it. Link?

Hamster, a bulletproof vest wouldn't stop Harstem from punching someone in the head. It also doesnt stop all of the force, just redistributes it into a wider area.
bulletproof vests protect the head? what sorcery is this?
@@flappy7373 🎩 🪄 🔮
Also there are two types of a bulletproof vests. The military uses a hard type, like armor. That one would help. Civillians, like bank security, usually use soft vests, which stop bullets, but not a punch because it bends. They aren't even stabproof.
It would still help you BIG TIME in a fist fight since you'd never have to worry about defending your chest and stomach area ^^
Oh man I love toss operator part. I still kinda miss that reporter guy. How you can dump him.
Maybe he just is on his way to Aiur for some next level documentary about Protoss life. Might take a few decades for him to get there though ^^
Hearing Harstem say "turn up the base" was enjoyable
Harstem, explaining sarcasm for us. Noice.
I really like the picture of the mines on this complaint, it's what this Toss sees right after his observer is killed, he's like a goldfish, can't see them so they must not be there.
Such an excellent tutorial, very informative 😉
would like to see an IODIS where you try your best to ONLY COMPLEMENT them during the game, and then at the end get real and saying how it is.
The protoss need to learn three things here:
1. Order an observer to follow a colossi (group your units into number 1 or 2 and don't use the select all army hotkey)
2. Make a seperate group for colossi so that you can pull them back when being target fired. Very important vs vikings.
3. Always retreat if you are about to run out of cannon fodders (zealots). The zealots are essential to keep your deathball unharmed. Ensure you have supply of zealots to do the job, done by constant prism warp-in behind the frontline.
You would had walk this terran with no difficulty at all whatsoever.
Also a tip for attack up ramp (when you greatly outnumbers the enemy) you should use stutter step (small forward move followed by hold position and repeat) because with attack move, colossi would needlessly trying to attack tanks outside their range, causing it not to fire immediately at the closest targets. Failure to do so can be disastrous.
'...and the server... is North America'
*grabs popcorn*
3:35 Hamster are you ok? Did somebody hurt our man Hamster.
Nah, don't worry ^^ But I have seen it happen multiple times, so it is a sad truth nowadays ^^
If I counted correctly, he loses 11 DTs against 2 mines at 25:04.
Absolute madlad
10. one survived. but not for long lol.
Hail Mary, hope he's not looking or he's been dropping mules like crazy.
We need one of those explainer videos on how to deal with Widow Mines as Zerg!
The way you said prime hit different. I've been stuck on the first 20 seconds for 5 minutes now.
Man I wish I ever remembered to build disruptors. Pretty much every game I remember goes well
I dunno I have f2 a moved a bunch of disruptors into the opponents army on multiple occasions.
@@loraxak Same. Also my patented move is blowing up my charging zealots instead of the enemy. Maybe its lame, but i often go the 6 collosus way + a lot of stalkers that i try to manually control against vikings.
the thumbnail gave me an idea; what if someone were to submit an IODIS of a match between themselves and the AI? imagine the savage roasts lmao.
"that's like buying tinder premium after you got a girlfriend" 🤣 man how do you come up with these
Meanwhile I have so much mine PTSD that every time Terran stuttersteps bio I assume they’re leading me into a minefield.
Thanks Harstem now i can deal with mines without detection!
I just want to see the Word file Harstem has with all his similes he's thought up. " like selling your car because you forgot where your shoes are " hahahahah
Loved the Protoss tutorial 19:31 , Just right for me:)
Did you remember to take your hand out of your pants?
19:32 aauhuhauhauhauh epic!
my love for starcraft is so much bigger then my skill :(
Imaging if in imbalance complain there was a terran who wrote "I defended toss attack while my mines were terrorizing his minerals line and then went for standard push. It wasn't the greatest move but since I'm already ahead I w'd say it was a net win. He counter attacks and it went decent for me. I stayed up in economy all game but he easily destroyed me with X...etc
Imaging in real game the terrorizing was 4 probes and 2 stalkers killed in cost of 2 medivacs and the "decent" trade wasn't even in terrans favor while the enemy'es 3rd base was solid 1.5 min earlier... Well, i think the description of the game would be shorter for sure at least.
If this series has taught me anything, it's that SC2 is not imbalanced and I just need to play and practice more. Thanks Harstem!
eh... it's still pretty imbalanced across skill levels due to race representation being so lopsided
@@HellecticMojo that's debatable
@@lustydouglas7316 Hardly. Majority of Grandmasters is Protoss while Protoss can't seem to win a single major tournament.
19:30 - ROFL......That was amazing!
I mean, zealots were the stars in the LOTV trailer. Why wouldn’t they work against Viking, ghost, liberator, widow mine in small chokes, right?
15:18 our diamond hero is floating an ass load of gas and minerals. Beyond everything that has been brought up, our boy don't know build orders or how to spend money. I'm bronze, for good reason, but i know if I'm floating gas i need to sink that into something. It takes skill to float gas a toss.
Honestly, feels like free coaching from @Harstem
I remember when window mines were detection units. Now.. That was broken
Oh god, they had detection?
Now I will admit the claim of the A.I forgetting that there's mines that were literally spotted and they were looking at them, I mean it does have some justification, because logically even without the detection if you KNEW those mines were there then one would assume that they would still attack the mines they were aware of, it reminds me of the A.I of the Engineer's sentry gun in TF2 if it locked onto an enemy spy before they disguised and then they disguised the sentry gun would still shoot at that spy because it had already locked onto them prior to them disguising, once that spy goes out of sight either by invis or breaking line of sight would the sentry forget about them but that at least makes sense because it's not meant to be this game ending thing in the Engineer's kit, it's just an area denial tool similar to the Terran mines.
Edit: of course now that I saw the HT, what's preventing Bace from using the HT Storm as a minesweeper? I remember doing that a few times back in the SC1 days to clear out spider mines and didn't want to risk using any other unit to either bait them out or as a sacrifice, in fact I think SC1 even encouraged you to do that for a mission involving Infested Marines since they pretty much acted like spider mines.
that tutorial was absolutely hilarious
23:23 another thing you can do is warp in sentries and have them tickle the vikings to death
I don't think Terran is OP as a whole. BUT!
-A small blue dot appears on the map for 2 seconds. I get a notification. 15 probes are dead. at this point 3 seconds have past. Diamond 2. Masters 2. The attack looks the same, and kills at every level. This. This I don't like.
That's why map vision is important. Like virtually all Terran drops, you really need some kind of early warning of mine drops to effectively counter them.
In other words: if the first time you notice you're getting dropped is after the units have already landed and are attacking your base, you've done something wrong.
@@sirprize8572 Yaya. Its just so hard to notice the medivac on the minimap.
@@BrendonReimer Agree. I think it would be really awesome if spotter units could be put in some kind of "Alert" mode that generates an alert ping the moment that unit spots an enemy, regardless of if it's engaged in combat or not.
I'm honestly surprised that function doesn't exist in this game, considering how important spotter units can be.
The true friends we found this match was the mines we found along the way
he has the same problem a lot of people have when there's to much going on
his obsever is part of the grp and not following, therefore it arrives first cause it uses the same attack move as the army and dies first
It amazes me, how people cant see their own fails so often. x)
For all of the Protoss operators: 19:30
19:39 was pure gold
As big a fan of harstem as I am, What I personally think he means by ''forced'' to walk over mines, is the fact that his units were chasing targets, that where not them selves mines, and he may not have him self always ordered them to move where they did, just a thought.
It's not like a zealot jumped out of the screen to held a psi-blade to his throat and forced him to chase...
Turnip should just leave 4 gateways as is and keep them producing then when he forgets to warp in at least something will still be building
After the most painful week, this sassiness gives me life.
Love the protos operator bit
I thought the report was from a zerg player, this imba report was wrote by protoss. That put things into perspective, using protoss against mine is rather easy comparing to zerg.
16:53 I'm always surprised how these fights work. Like, get 5 stalkers and left click an observer on them and they are practically immune to widow mines. An a move could probably have won this fight lol
Love your videos man, sadly i never watch them all the way because I fall asleep half way, not trying to be a dick, there's just something about your videos that helps me get some shut eye.

Okey the real question is, why do we dont have an funny image at the complain page HAMSTER LAZYNES DETECTED
Hm? I do not fill out those forms! That's the people who send in the replays! It's just a very very VERY big coincidence that they all have the same pen and handwriting :)
@@hamster_designs lies xD
@@hamster_designs I panicked and thought I missed where to submit a drawing, then I realized it was a perfect rendition of the Widow Mines from my pov. Very clever!
That Rammus OK stamp was Legendary indeed.
His name reminds me of the common phrase I hear all the time here in the U.S. " Get ready two turnip the heat ". Never understood what it meant...People here say it when you gotta get something done seriously...give two turnips the heat!
After watching this, I am left wanting to see, why the terran was behind so much. What did T do wrong in this battle? It's not that the P moves: Build a warp prism and warp in 6 DT which do nearly nothing is such a compelling reason, after all...
I like how he uses DT's while calling mines imba.
yeah, terran is by far the least cost efficient detection and dt'a are quick and cost efficient stealth units
@@thewired4607 A single raven against DTs is pretty damn cost efficient.
@@2639theboss a single raven costs a fucking ton of gas and is useless for players who still have no good control

Even he did not handle the mines that well, they weren't the reason he lost.
18:45 OH LAWD!
most of the time his observers where chilling barely out of detection range to see the mines xD i think after seeing this video he definetly is able to deal with them. and not enganging with little groups that just die to everything. also he forgets his prism a bit. maybe just a zelalot warp in when terran moved out would have dealt much damage. and like zerg is going forward with one zergling to draw mine fire he propably couldve walked a zealot in front of his army if he wasnt shure where the mines where. well gg i personally dont think he sucked ;)

Not a fan of the notification sounds when the text boxes appear
Loved the tutorial on killing mines without detection 😄🧡
Harstem, you are making infomercials great again. Turnip needs to take notes.
This is such a strange way of playing Protoss. I think the easiest thing to do is go up to skytoss. If you're alive at 10 minutes, and you have 5 bases, you can go nuts with the carriers. Just make sure you have defensive units at home.
The Terran at least made some air.
Walking up that ramp without clearing the junk, he is basically constantly funneling his army into the oppo... SMH... even Bronze players know this is bad.. might as well get his units in a single like and march them into the oppo army, would be the same thing
great stuff as always capt
number 4 - recall
Mine Tutorial is Pro, toss a Disruptor shot at clump of mines! Smooth operator with hand out of pants. GREAT STUFFS! 👌🏻
A really fun and great video!
Thanks for it! :D
Can we all agree Ghosts should be a "light" unit?
Honestly toss being frustrated at 18:40 is VERY understandable. I'm sure both players forgot they were there with all the other craziness going on.
Edit: forgetting your upgrades the whole game is unforgivable, though. Even at gold league I remember 2 forges by 6 minutes and starting upgrades when they're done
Edit 2: wow and after that mine hit it seems he got really tilted and just threw the game
Yeah, pretty spot on. I was frustrated after I walked over the mines twice for no reason. Also, this was one of my first times trying out this build so it was like putting out fires the entire time. I always felt like I was one big push away from death so I kept delaying forge, my b.
@@turnipthebase4199 look, I'm a silver league Terran/gold league protoss. The only thing I can really judge is the upgrade thing, and I'm sure you do it much better in other games. You almost won this game without them, anyways, with your control.
@@turnipthebase4199 and I also understand feeling "I'm one push away from death" with Terran. I feel that's the race I struggle the most against
note to self, when starting out as terran in low leagues, build mines.
As a gold zerg I fully agree, mines are imba
out range them or suicide a cheap unit, ie 1 zlot, 1 ling or 1 marine
being in gold, you can walk 1-2 units spaced out, in front of your army and they are the scouts for mines. if they die, maybe safe now. if they live, hopefully safe.
@@whateverppl1229 The thing is, that in this league he will float 1k res after he did that x)
IMBA doesn't mean anything below GM.
Roach/Hydra is fine below Masters & don't even need detection to see mines (Ravagers).
I loved your PSA
It always annoyed me that mines splash observers to death. You look away for 3 seconds, and suddenly boom, 2 Stalkers and 2 Obs dead and everything else like EMPed. Then you have to wait for a minute for the new obs to arrive. I imagine this must be frustrating for players below masters.
A simple solution would be to limit the splash to either ground or air, depending what it hits. If mine targets ground, air units don't get damaged, and vice-versa. I don't believe it would affect high level games whatsoever. But I have a feeling now that a big wave of Terran hate is coming my way...
Anyway he didn't lose because of mines, but because he pushed his army through a choke into a sieged up defended position. And lost 5k more army value.
Which unit is in your opinion the actual most imbalanced?
Did you also know that light speed is INCREDIBLY slow! I often wonder how the Millenium Falcon gets around in Star Wars with such a slow warp engine! I mean...It's slow as hell! "0.5 past lightspeed." Even at those speeds it would still take around 4 years to get to the next solar system! Star Trek was a bit faster...I believe ( Correct me if I am wrong ) every warp is X lightspeed...So warp 1 would be lightspeed, 2 would be 2x etc...Still pretty slow.
Eve Online got it right...Their warp engines travel at Astronomical Units per second. A AU is Sun to Earth...So if your traveling at like 4 AU/Sec your hauling ASS! Everything else is just...Too freakin slow!
That doesn't make sense either. How do you travel at light speed or faster? No time is passing. You'd never be able to slow down. Even a computer can't do anything without time. I don't even know what would happen if you crash into something. I think you'll be fine because nothing can happen. I mean, if frozen in time for all eternity is fine.
Unless you're not actually moving but you're folding space or space is moving around you. But that probably isn't possible. And you aren't actually moving at a speed :)
The bigger issue is the time that would be passing for the rest of the universe while you're traveling. The Milky Way Galaxy is 50,000 light years across. It would make sense in a way for Star Wars. It would explain how isolated all the planets were and how they had little idea what was going on.
Distances in space are just sooooo freaking insane. I honestly can't blame the writers because I cannot wrap my head around these insanly large numbers either, ngl ^^ And yeah, as Scott mentioned there also is this time slowing down with speed thing which makes it even more problematic... Very interesting comment though! ^^
@@hamster_designs I think traveling at light speed is only possible for light. Or I should say something that like light that has no mass. Everything without mass travels at light speed :) Any force produces infinite velocity divide by zero. But if you could it would be indistinguishable from death. You couldn't tell the difference. Nothing would happen, forever.
I don't think anything could reduce your speed. But it's hard to imagine not being instantly vaporized by anything that could do it. So I say no thanks to the light speed :)
@@Jordan-Ramses I would not count out warping space just yet. Once we figure out gravity ( Which can stop light dead or pull it in ) I think long distance space travel would be possible.
Star wars space travel doesn't make any sense to me. Vader flew to mustafar system to murder the separatists...It didn't take him 4 years to get there lol. How long did it take Yoda to get to the " Very important " Wookie system that they could not afford to lose "...6 years lol.
Despite the fact that at least one episode (in a scene set in the future) mentions speeds past Warp 10, the actual lore is that Warp 1 is light speed, and Warp 10 is infinite speed (i.e. unattainable). It's not a linear scale. So getting around the galaxy really fast in the Star Trek universe is at least plausible given the fictional rules.
I have an account called easyai was hoping this was me cyclone pf rushing someone lol
is the form of the iods disable? I can't open that page
