I like to think that freeman forgot to turn on his intercom so throughout half life one he could speak and hear other people, but they couldn't hear him. Of course that doesn't explain hl2's intro but semantics.

They did try to kill Gordon first; he tried being diplomatic and talking to several of them but they didn't listen and he had to wrack up several counts of "self defense" prior to this encounter.
I just want you to know that, after eleven years, every time I have to quickly climb to a higher spot in an emergency situation in a video game I STILL shout a panicked "habbidibibobdeeboo" and it is EXCLUSIVELY because of this video. Thank you for shaping such a weird, core piece of my personality. 👍
awesome video very well made and definatley hillarious ... but there is a problem gordon freeman isn't supposed to have a helmet in the first freemans mind he remarks that someone stole his helmet and in several episodes he makes a few quotes about how he wants a helmet to protect his head. other than that a great video
It is, but half life two models are really bad for facial animations unlike the tf2 ones. so it would look really bad. I figured that I could spend more time focusing on animating the scene rather than his face, which would look crap in the end anyway. Besides, he isn't supposed to be talking really, it's all in his 'mind'.
