- In the ongoing adventures of Gordon Freeman, he comes across a rocket launcher on the side of a really, really narrow cliff face. I worked on this on and off, but overall it didn't give me any problems. Enjoy!

The way the normally irate, loudmouthed Gordon actually takes on a hushed, reverential tone when he sees the launcher. There are some things even he respects.

Freemans Mind is such a good series too. I had forgotten all about it. I was watching back before it was on youtube to my knowledge.
These animations give Freeman a real Deadpool vibe.

Amazing video and the animation has a nice flow because I know you focus on it better than the lip syncing and facial expressions but do you think you'll ever do both some day?

I'll never forget theese cliffs. It take me three tries to paly through HL1 as a child.
1st try ended in "On the Rail" because I lost my way (thankfully BMS cut some stuff out there).
2nd try ended on that cliff, because I missed the crossbow in "Questionable Ethics" and did not know how to kill the enemies there.
3rd try worked. Cliff Headcrap scared the shit out of me though.

you don't have to hide your feelings. its alright. so what if you're insecure with moving the lips of your characters, and hide them with anything possible, such as hands, masks, or particular camera placements with objects in the way... we don't care! #OvercomeYourInsecurityGoogley

You're good, really good.
i just notice that the HEV suit(with a helmet) makes gordon freeman look like a Power Ranger.
But with all the armor, and the fact that he's not part of a team, he's closer to a Kamen Rider.
I feel like you'd have a field day with the "modern major general" scene

And thus Freeman dropped his shotgun in the stash cave, and shortly thereafter he realised that a rocket launcher, even with a laser guidance system, does not make a good close quarters weapon.
It's missing background music but i like it.

the fact that he isn't wearing a helmet it's clearly a problem to some people the argument that you don't want to animate a face is wrong because most people's interpretation of what's going on is that the vocal track happens inside Gordon Freeman's head anyways so all you would have to animate was facial expressions which would not be as hard
1:04 would've been nice if it switched to absolute madness like in Meet the Pyro.

Personally speaking, it feels like an even longer dry spell to me because I like many others don't have a 5mx5m area of free space to set up and swing around room-scale VR controllers. I mean, VR is cool and all, but they could hardly have chosen a less practical setup to be pushing as the standard.
That, and while I don't doubt they're still working on Source 2... they've been allegedly working on Source 2 for a _long fucking time_ at this point.
