Had the privilege to know Larry back in the East Village, and shared Garage space with him. Super generous, unpretentious, Spiritually amazing human being. I was mesmerized with Grease Monkey, and Larry let me sit on it…it really was unnaturally balanced. Rode with him a few times out to Conney Island to go Polar Bear’ing. Still 😢miss him
I remember watching that bike (Chain Of Mystery) being built on TV. I was 20 years old and I thought it was the coolest bike I’ve ever seen. It still is. There are thousands of people who would genuinely love to own one of those bikes. But very very few on this earth who deserve one of those bikes. All of us who love to ride have a bond with our motorcycle. It becomes part of us, its alive. Even looking trough my phone screen at those bike I can see the soul in them. I’ve never seen either one in person. But Im certain those are the coolest bikes on this earth. -Bless your soul Larry.
I had stopped riding for several years due to raising kids, but got back on in 03, I’m now on the edge of possibly not being able to ride much again due to a back injury, Just loved Indian Larry’s work as well as so many others, they were iconic men in my eyes RIP Larry Who ever gets this bike is truly lucky..
Wow amazing I have Indian Larry buttons I got from his shop...... Bring from the East Coast he is my favourite bike builder and he's definitely inspired me in chopper building.....rip brother....
RIP Larry much❤️ Nice to keep our loved ones in our hearts and prayers Happy New Year safe travels Nice bikes and garage. Always put a personal signature on the bikes. Gone but never forgotten.
Thanks for detailed, insightful and respectful review of two great pieces of art by IL. This was the first video that actually took the time to go over both bikes in detail. Thanks man.
I remember watching them try to tune the 2 carbs on that chain bike. Larry is a legend. RIP Always liked his minimalist style, " if you take one part off, it won't work"
I went to a show in Connecticut seen both of those bikes and met Indian Larry only a few months before he passed amazing man amazing bike builder and two awesome bikes!
I'm from England and visited Indian Larry Legacy in Brooklyn in 2014 and was lucky enough to view Larry's other Discovery bike, Rat Fink, a really beautiful bike, one of the best.
I like that Larry’s personnel bike wasn’t flashy but I’m sure it handles great and has all the performance your gonna get out of a chopper. I think it represents Larry’s style and philosophy to building bikes perfectly.
I remember my grampa talking about him,,,didn't he die after getting drunk and riding his motorcycle 120 ...then stood on the handle bars or something? People said,,,"hey, isn't that larry", as he went by standing on the handlebars, no helmet, beer in his hand, then the obvious happened.
This came up in my recommendations and I did not know anything about the builder. I made a joke below not realizing that he is dead. I want to be clear these bikes are incredible. That guy had more talent in his pinky then I do in my whole body. These bikes are awesome.
I do recall the episode when Larry built the bike going up against Billy Lane episode 4. Larry said that bike was the best, most comfortable bike he had ever ridden and ever built. As always an amazing work of art and Larry was a true artist. May He Rest In Peace.
I met Indian Larry at a motorcycle show in New York City a year or 2 before he died. We spoke about building bicycles. Apparently before building motorcycles he built bicycles. I was just some guy who had a similar interest, building things. He was the nicest guy. He spent his time talking to a complete stranger about bicycles, at a motorcycle show. He really was interested what I had to say. I am glad he spent the 10 or 15 minutes talking about bicycle frame building all those yeas ago.
Indian Larry is, to me, the greatest motorcycle builder who ever lived. It's a damn shame he's gone, he's irreplaceable, but at least we know he went out in a fitting manner doing what he loved best.
Bar none the best in the business. The bike world will NEVER be the same. Loved his style, loved his way of life. This man is a legend, he was even one while he was alive. RIP
You look closely at the details he had put on these and he was not only a bike builder but a true artist. Nothing comes close to what he had built RIP sir hope they keep your legend going for many years.
I love checking out other peoples work .Both are beautiful. I would not have expected to see the 'chain of mystery's gas line almost against the rear pipe, that close to the head heat. Not picking, more like suprised.
Sure would love to be rich enough to own that one there the Springer's man in the chain Larry. Is it all right there for me thanks buddy for sharing with us
I never get tired of looking at those bikes. He had great taste in choppers. Love the "Grease Monkey".

Something spooky with the black cat roaming around the bike Larry died on and meowing

For anyone wondering, the Grease Monkey sold for $220,000, the Chain of Mystery sold for $165.000,
both to the same guy....
Anybody else notice, as soon as he mentioned that, that was the bike that Larry died on, the black cat immediately meowed?
Very beautiful and astonishing!!!

Very nice and fitting video. I think you said it all. Thanks for sharing.

Larry is a legend. RIP

Larry made me want to ride bikes rip Larry can’t believe it’s been that long since he passed away
This came up in my recommendations and I did not know anything about the builder. I made a joke below not realizing that he is dead. I want to be clear these bikes are incredible. That guy had more talent in his pinky then I do in my whole body.

Rest in Peace Larry
I don't how much that bike was ridden and handled, but crazy how that chain frame held up.
That cat is Larry..
We think the same... at least in the moment.
that man truly built a bike from ground up
Marla garber (and scooter) and Indian Larry were my idols growing up. Would love to have met them.
That panhead is nice. I am building a 55 pan right now.
Those bikes are unbeatable
