My mother was raised Jewish but she converted to Christianity later in life and raised me very lax as far as faith; adopting the system of “if you’re happy this way, do it.” I’ve always been fascinated by the Jewish faith but I was nervous about possibly converting. However, the reform sect seems to calm my nerves. Maybe one day I’ll get the nerve to walk into my local reform temple and see if it resonates with me.
if your mother is jewish then you are jewish- no need to convert. even if you convert out of judaism you are still a jew and your children will still be jews as well
@@Annie9452 actually no that isn’t accurate. If someone converts out of Judaism to another religion they are no longer Jewish. Even if your mother was Jewish a person is no longer Jewish if they convert to another religion.
@@Annie9452 I presumed so, and since the temple she and my grandparents attended was Orthodox I believe her conversion upon adoption was Kosher which also backs up your logic. So thank you for the insight.

This religion was only "made" after they threw out literally 99.9% of the original religion and just said "Nothing actually matters, I just want to light a candle on friday" Then you might aswell just be an atheist and be honest about it. This is just weird

Honest question? Othorodox Jews believe such restrictions are commands fron god. Why would modern life supersede these restrictions? Wouldnt you work around gods law (is it?) than god's law around modern life? Im not a theist so I havr no issues with theists, but just curious?
