  • BOWTECH vs MATHEWS "the showdown" - Bowtech Reckoning Gen 2 VS Mathews Phase 4 33. Tim Connor shoots the bows side-by-side and discusses a few of the pro's and con's in a scored format. I work my way around the 3D Archery Course and have a fun little archery challenge. In this video I shoot a newly built Bowtech Reckoning Gen 2 and also a Mathews Phase 4 33. This is a fun comparison video. #archery #mathews #bowtech

Tim it's been a pleasure watching your progression from beginner to what I would now call you( seasoned bow hunter). Not sure if I'm the only one that noticed but your way more accurate by yourself. So that tells me your letting your nerves get the best of you when shooting with others.

I second the opinion regarding the quality of your videos - very cinematic. Since 2010, I have owned two bows: a Mathews Drenalin LD and a Bowtech Revolt X. I shoot each bow nearly the same, although I have more 50 yard, 5-arrow groups that are all touching with the Bowtech than the Mathews. But the Mathews is sooo much more quiet - it may be the better hunting bow due only to that factor. Thank you for the great videos and the informal test.

First of all each bow shot is suspect and subjective.
Me, I personally wouldn’t shoot a Mathew’s bow because of their lousy grips and overpricing. And that Mathew’s is just plain ugly!

    Tim,
Great video and Happy for you going out on your own. I know this channel will grow! I have found that the less time I have in the holding position the more accurate I am. I have shoulder issues and have had a mass removed from my right bicep/triceps, it has forced me to become quicker in my shot, subsequently it caused me to get on target faster and become a lot more accurate. I use both a index finger and thumb release, worked on my trigger slap and got that under control. Overall, speed on target made me a better more accurate shot. I know you like that style of release but I noticed your moving a lot while waiting on the release to release. Maybe work on the speed in which you release. ( wow said RELEASE a lot in that last sentence!)

Used to shoot at a range every day that used those black compressed “carpet”? targets. The friction on carbon arrows actually will destroy them over time. Had a thin wall 23 carbon (vapor 23 speed) actually break during a shot and thankfully it made it off the bow and not into my bow hand. Ever since I refused to shoot at any of those targets. The range got rid of them because they were destroying arrows over time. Honestly haven’t seen one of those targets in like 15 years.

I think a Tie makes sense tho because it proves as long as you practice practice practice both bows can be just as accurate…proves it’s not the bow, it’s the person shooting it

I notice when you shoot the bow tech seems more steady for you ,, I’m looking at bow movement of the bow ,, bow tech just looks steadier in your hands

Don't think that showed anything except that both bows shoot EXTREMELY well and it all depended on SHOOTER ERROR not bow error!!

Great video Tim. Love the tip…”hold the the camera up”! Cause nobody wants to see what’s up your nose!
BTW…. I would more than gladly accept the losing bow from this shoot-off. I’ll PM my address later.

You have to consider how much longer you’ve been shooting the Mathews and you just got the Bowtech, the lady had it figured out from the start🤣🏹 #refusetofollow

They started shedding the "Blow-tech" name they made for themselves with their own laminated limbs. Good call switching to gordon glass and surpassing "the big three" in technology to boot.

You could shoot each bow back to back and score different. You can't compare the two, you just can't.

I agree, just saying each shot is different so very hard to compare. Great job though, love watching your content.
