I have the same radio for my tahoe. Double check your DVD player. That pink brake wire will actually prevent you from watching movies if you don't Ground it. Ground the pink wire to the radio exterior metal case to by pass. This will make the stereo think its in park and your passenger can watch a movie while you drive. Worked for me. Just double check it. I found out the hard way when I tried to watch a movie while parked and the player wouldn't work.

I have this unit and I think it sounds great. I have all of my door speakers running right off of the head unit and it puts out good sound, is plenty loud and has minimal distortion if any. I also have an under seat subwoofer. Thinking about adding an additional subwoofer in the back and daisy chain it with my under seat sub to get a really good low end.
Thanks for sharing, mostly those screw points to remove the covering, had my sub a bit rigged up through the rear speaker outputs but finally gonna take the time to throw a decent unit in, my tape deck was annoying af... would always randomly stop the music to clean itself even though i never use that part haha... Props!

Good video, but I do recommend using heat shrink butt connectors, instead of electrical tape.

How is the amp on this unit ? Can I play it loud for like 2 hours straight without it burning up ( when I was young I would have cheap units that burn up after playing loud .. Sony never burned up )
What about the SWC thing that was on the back of the Aftermarket Radio harness ?
If you have a 02 under the steering wheel the fist cover he removed there are two screws that have to be removed or your braking that panel as well as two small levers that pushes a plastic cover down.
What kind of harness adapter did you get? I can’t find one out my way

I got the same radio, I replaced a aftermarket radio that was working and had sound. I hook the harness correctly and have no sound coming from the Dual XDVD269BT. Please help me with any tips man. I’m going CRAZY!

My Monte Carlo is 2003 SS as well but it had two fuse connections that connected onto the factory stereo. I'm trying to install an aftermarket one but it only has room for one wire harness. Help please?
Must be an amplifier
The brake wire would need to be ran to the parking brake itself. There is a bypass that can be done so that you can use the DVD player which would be running it to the ground wire. This isnt recommended due to DMV regulations for video playing while driving, but unless you want to run it to the parking brake itself...its a quick fix.
Just mount the brake wire to the chasis so u can watch dvd anytime to bypass the parking brake

Be careful with them Monte Carlo. Sometimes when take factory radio u can't reset the security light when it come on. It going make your car don't start til security light come off

I keep getting a "no signal" reading when installing my aftermarket radio. I believe that everything is connected correctly but still get a "no signal" reading. Does anyone know why this is, and if so please comment below. Thanks
Check and make sure your antenna is connected in the back.
The stock radio communicates with the main computer with settings and all that. not good to change out radios

Is your system amplified ? If so can did u run it any problems
no its not
Know this is an old comment, but factory amped systems from the general require the amp to be on the blue wire. The amplifier receives power via the blue line, and you'll have the factory system bumping with the new head unit.

Painted dashboard is dope asf. Your video quality and song are excellent. I recommend doing the jobs with the camera mounted somewhere. Dont do jobs with 1 hand whole filming with the other..

Make sure you clean it well first and dust it off. He obviously didn't.
You would have to take it apart and spray paint it if your going to do red use rustoleum sunrise red because it matches victory red almost perfectly
You want to use some adhesion promoter too. It’ll help the paint stick better to the surface. I have a beige interior so red would be awful for me
The wire at the end that says brake is the one that stops video while driving. It works like a ground. Idk what the blue wire is, couldnt read the tag..
Blue is the remote wire if u wanna use a amp to power a sub

Just tuck it in behind the stereo, its not used.

Good shit. Real talk. That install would be $200 minimum. You can melt wire ends with a lighter, if you're good enough. If not you'll get burned asf
