I’m going to make an art class for you, but it’s going to be like survivor. I’ll fly you out to an island and the one survivor will be the best artist. Jeff Probst will be there for sure. Boston rob too

Unfortunately I don’t really draw so I don’t have many recommendations. but that portrait was amazing! The only thing I’d say was exactly what you said you weren’t the greatest at, the shoulders are a little droopy, I may not draw but I am getting my nursing degree and you have to look at a lot of bodies for that, so I would say the if you made the shoulders a bit wider and possibly a little deeper (like wider but front to back) then you would be perfect! Also remember to make it a little more box like, the neck muscles are more prominent on some people more than others so it depends on the portrait, but I’d say lift the shoulders up a little too. But if it was someone that seems sad, then you would lower the shoulders. Anyways the face mask scared the crap outa me 🤣 love your stuff man Keep at it!

Practicing portraits is actually a very good place to start! It can also help with how the structure of some people's face are like, especially anything with some dramatic lighting could help as well. When I'm studying a pose, a person, or when just drawing freely, I just create a solid color silhouette or I'll take a low opacity brush to create a silhouette with so I can see where i map the arms/ hands and legs and then on top of that I start mapping out the sketch with some details with how I want the face or the body to look. I'm fascinated with the structural way of the human body and faces, including with muscles and such. I say find a thing you really like the look of, for instance, I like drawing structural faces, like cheekbones, the jawline, the chin, types of noses, etc. I also really like how muscles are shaped and how they connect with each other. I feel like as you're studying something you should gradually start creating your own style with it and eventually you'll start to like it and it'll help you remember how to draw it. I hope this helps and I hope this makes sense lol.
