    You should do supercar spotting with your bike.

    Good to see you on the bike. Tip for refuelling.. sit on the bike and keep it upright whilst filling up. Use both hands to hold the pump and only just put the nozzle in so you can see the fuel. Means you can brim the tank easily. I have to do that on my RSV4RF as the hole for the nozzle is tiny haha. With parking spots.... ALWAYS leave the bike right outside the entrance to the supermarket. It’s more secure when it’s visible to shoppers, staff and potentially the supermarkets security cameras.

    you can get a lot more fuel in after the first click btw! its got a 17 litre tank. and just park where you like haha, you dont have any less rights on a bike

    Hi Paul , being a fellow biker i can tell you that every big supermarket will have a dedicated bike parking area ....in fact Sainsburys are one of the better ones , you just have to find them ...keep going with riding , you get more comfortable and enjoy it more the more you do ....and lean back a bit more !!

    Ride and practice as much as you can and in all weather conditions. Otherwise, you will really lack confidence when caught out in the rain on a fair weather day. when you feel up to it, maybe do a weekend road trip to Wales or an offroad riding course to get a feel for how the bike feels when it loses traction. Finally, what about a cars and bikes meet up with one of the other You Tubers? - maybe Mr JWW?

    Been riding for 6 years now, use your bike for decent rides mate not going to the supermarket, more hassle than its worth lol, although I would park on the kerb right at the front and use a chain if poss, lot of bike theft about. Would be good to see you mod the bike.

      Also, why shouldn't you park your bike right outside the supermarket? You take up a space regardless of whether you're on a bike or in a car. Bikers have as much right to park were they want as car drivers, especially if the store doesn't provide bike spaces.

    • @Guuggel

    okay so at a super market, just park out the front, along as you're not blocking the doors its generally okay.
    Most supermarkets do have places for motorbikes to park but they're not in your face about it.

    Half the joy of using a superbike is gettting to filter through traffic and be able to VIP park at the front door of the local supermarket. I cant believe that you missed the empty space at the front door of Sainsburys and choose to park all the way towards the back of the carpark. Rucksack is very handy for the shop on a bike. Especially when you have no panniers. The other joys of a motorbike is the sheer acceleration and maneuverability in the twisties that one can only dream of in a supercar.

    don't leave your bike too far from store entrance and chain it up as much as possible.
    also don't care if you take up a parking space on a bike however most supermarkets have motorbike parking (smaller spaces).
    great vid though 🤘🏽

  • @malp6280
    @malp6280 4 роки тому +6

    it takes a opportunist about 5seconds to steal a motorbike, parking your bike as you did is probably the most stupid thing possible "if your wanting to keep the bike!"
    park the bike upfront & chain it to something sturdy!! even if you park it in a car parking bay next to a trolley stall so you can chain it up!! dont care about what other drivers think "ITS YOUR BIKE!!" so if you wanna keep it be sensible with it.
    ps most if not ALL cyclists park the bike straight outside the stores! for the general safety & convenience of having a bike

    I used to own a Honda CBR600FX as a very experienced rider and it was a fast bike. I can understand your fear. Make sure to look car drivers in the eye before trusting that they see you and position yourself near the center of the road as you pass T junctions so that you can avoid slamming into the side of the car as it pulls out in front of you. And on corners, push on the left bar to go around a right-hand bend. Apply hard brake to the front when upright to stop quickly, not much to the rear. Practice. Watch the road surface for grit, cow dung, diesel spills and wet tar crack repairs. Don't look at a tree when overshooting a corner.

  • @chtpcpo
    @chtpcpo 4 роки тому +6

    Use the rear brake when you're coming up to a stop mate, stops the front end diving and destabilising the bike. That's why you nearly dropped it at 5.07

    • @Unfunny_Username_389
      @Unfunny_Username_389 3 роки тому

      The number of dicks that halt on the front brake is confounding. It only takes a small patch of loose gravel or smear of oil/diesel on a forecourt and the bike's on its side.

    I think it should be mandatory for people wanting to learn to drive a car, to also have to pass their CBT as part of the process. Cagers have very little understanding of what a life on two wheels is like and consequently don't really giver bikers a second thought. If CBT was compulsory for a car license, they'd have no choice but to understand spacial awareness, the vulnerability, the neccessity of extra observations and the metal weapon they will be in charge of when they get their car license.

    I don’t get the car-park hierarchy mind-set - first and foremost you are a Sainsburys customer, not a car driver, not a biker. I guess it takes a few miles to shake off the ingrained ‘car is king’ attitude. Anyway, if there’s no obvious dedicated motorbike parking, or there is but it’s in an absurd location, just use a car-sized space near the store where there are more shoppers, staff and security milling about to supplement your own security. Park towards the back of the space to improve visibility 👍

    HI Paul, I agree with Bike Lover you need to sit more upright as you'll be much more comfortable. I'm not sure of the rules in the UK but here in Australia a motorbike has the same rights as a car in a supermarket car park. When parking in a car space place the bike in the middle of the parking spot so you have maximum room around it,

    speaking as a health care professional, stay safe - i see many late night idiots on bikes that lost a leg or two (sometimes not their fault, obviously) who say they would do it all again.....

      It's almost like a bicycle ride while the sun is up. I'm torn I've owned 3 motorcycles and love riding but know the risk. Hate being on the freeway but love carving a canyon. Currently don't own a motorcycle but this video makes me drool.

      Don’t stress about the gears pal. They are really easy to learn in no time at all

    So many remarks. A sportsbike as a first bike is a really bad idea. For normal people A bike costs the same to run as a car. A large motorcycle or an estate diesel get the same fuel efficiency.
    I often go shopping using my motorcycle (I have paniers) and if there I can't leave it near the entrance I'll just pick the first available spot. Most people in their cars also drive alone, so I d'ont see any problem with it.

    The pavement outside the shop where the trolleys are is where I would have parked... 11:31

      Literally always just dump it somewhere near the door / on the pavement. Park it that far from the shop and it won’t be there when you get back 😂

      @@ukcarscene8695 Lucky we don't get our bikes constantly stolen in Finland.
