The iAiming 617 has a 640 sensor and offers decent clarity as far as thermal optics go. It's one shot zero certainly works making zeroing a quick easy task.
Awesome review!!! The same things would bother me as well!! Its like you just want to grab it and go . Not be pushing a whole bunch of buttons and choosing options. My phone has great lenses and takes great pictures . Every time i have to use it i have to mess with something. The worst is when the damn thing is taking a picture of me!! Who wants to see that? Set it and forget it should be it. If i want to change it that is where the time and work should take place.
with these types of scopes, if you put your eye up to the eye piece is there enough 'buffer' so the scope doesn't smack you in the eye/head with larger calibres - ie: 6.5CM or 308 etc
It's funny how you brushed over how it was made in China in this video but you went to town on the Zerotech scope about being made there! I thought you'd never own a scope made in China?
Would it be possible to do a review or at least answer the question for every $500? What's the best bang for the buck 500 $1,500 to 2000 2500 3,000 all it's a 5 or 6,000 suppose a man is a $2,000 budget. It's saved him a whole lot of grief. If he knew his best choice was a sets and such at $2,000 or the bedrooms 4,000 or the budget was only 900. Thank you
Thanks for the good review Ozzie. I just bought the 612 the other day. It has an amazing picture and is easy to use. The record and distance functions are a bit annoying but hopefully that gets fixed with a firmware update. I heard that apparently there is a microphone built in but it isn't used yet but I can't confirm that yet. Have you tried it on any center fire rifles yet at different distances to see how accurate the drop compensation is?
Sure, this will work on a rifle chambered in .22lr, in standard conditions, however, it's quite ambitious to put heavier calibers as pre-defined settings, that does NOT look secure enough to handle .308 or even .223 without that housing getting thrashed. In fact, this kind of looks like a toy, with the fake cup on the eye relief.. the fonts and name just scream "Сhinеsе". I would honestly save.
He's either a primary producer or got a Feral Animal Control Business so he can have one... For normal everyday shooters they are almost impossible to own legally.
Nope, you just need a license which takes a few months to obtain, and you have to do a safety course and show a genuine reason you want a firearm (hunting, competition, recreation, etc)
I've got a mate that owns one. It's excellent optics and picture in the viewfinder. HOWEVER..... I'd never recommend one, nor buy an iAiming if you paid me. Getting any recorded video off the device is a nightmare involving multiple steps and requiring a wireless connection to a phone/tablet. Most of the time it dosn't work. It's hit and miss, but most of the time it doesn't. The software is utter shite. There is no USB connection on the device and no "record" button on the device either. You have to start recording on your phone/tablet, but the video isn't stored there, it's stored on the thermal device. Transferring the video, or finding it on the thermal device is a random occurrance. DO NOT BUY any iAiming device if you want to get recorded video reliably saved to PC.
@@StayFrostyOfficial Nah, thats a Cat C. Rimfire semi auto. Pretty simple to get for primary producers. You're bang about Cat D though, thats semi auto centrefire and only for pro cullers.
Check out our review of the Pulsar Thermion XP50 Thermal Scope: ua-cam.com/video/tx1ZokqNR7A/v-deo.html
And that is your opinion of the I aiming put a link to the Pulsar lol
@@aynjeleyes no, it’s a link to a similar product I’ve reviewed just as you’ll find the iaiming link on the pulsar review
Do you think you'll review the Hikmicro Stellar SQ50 and InfiRay TH50?
Love how Hank has your 6 covered.
Good dog
Thanks Ozzie! Great review, nice to see the actual video footage.
It's good that the couple of issues you had are easy fixes with a firmware update.
Seems like a very good optic from a bang for your buck perspective.
Love the ransom master mat you are using in this video
Thanks Ozzie , My pet hate is no stand by off function , a problem when stalking in

Pulsar Thermion 2 XQ38 is almost the same price too and an absolutely quality optic.
what other option then are you looking at ?
@@FkRoP except it’s only a 384 thermal sensor…
Designed in Australia made by the chows
is there a day mode where you dont have to use thermal
My 612 has had a work out . I'm still impressed but some menu items are annoying. Id at long distance is incredible.
So jealous you got a semi auto
@@nevadacario2000 to me it looks like a semi. In my state of QLD we can own straight pulls on a cat b licence which is easy to obtain
This optic seems amazing but the lack of LRF makes me a little skeptical especially for hunting, is that a drawback?

Just wondering how you ranged the hare? Is there a built in range finder?
Dudes probably killed more hares than mixamatosis
No range finder.. Wish it had one..
looks alot like and reminds me of my pard008 lrf, cool scope good review:)
no predator vision selection on the palette ? bummer
Can you charge while in use with the usb?
I have an ATN xsite and I use that heaps, gives much longer shooting time especially with the wifi on.
Awesome review. Can it be helmet mounted?
What was it mounted on?
Will you buy it Ozzie?
Stood up lol sorry about it my guy
hey Ozzie, do we get pistol august this year?
that little knob on the left hand side of it looks really cheap and nasty...
Where u get it

Been using mine for close to a year now on a .270.. Works a treat..
I thought semi autos were not legal in Australia?
He's either a primary producer or got a Feral Animal Control Business so he can have one... For normal everyday shooters they are almost impossible to own legally.
He’s a professional pest controller, so he’s allowed one
Would you own one?
Hello friend,
May i know are you interested in the latest thermal scope? regards
I thought guns were banned in Australia?
Hahahaha. Nope. Just lots of hoops to jump through to own one.
Nope, you just need a license which takes a few months to obtain, and you have to do a safety course and show a genuine reason you want a firearm (hunting, competition, recreation, etc)
I sent an email several days ago asking where the optic was made. No reply. It's Chinese. Better to go with a Pulsar Thermion.
Still no response. Very telling. Not a shining endorsement of their customer service either.
Who gives a fuck where it’s made
Guess what.... the Pulsar is made in china too !

Is that a military rifle? I thought they were illegal to own
A professional contract shooter with the permits can own a semi auto rifle no problem. Not to mention that is a .22 lol
