    I'm glad you let us watch the modification. You may think it's boring, but it's not(IMO). People watch you sharpen, so watching you mod shouldn't be less interesting. We're entertained longer 😁.
    I think it looks great, but silver hardware would definitely add a point.

    Are you ok? I seen that shank coming out and getting wobbly then you edited it out put back in shank deeper..Your stone was loading/creating a groove..a high grit sanding disc/drum works great for light work like this but still an awesome job modding Jared..thanks for your time and effort brother..

      @@NeevesKnives Knice...I like modding or tweaking knives too..two things happen...
      1)Usually it becomes a better knife/tool
      2)It becomes yours because its something you crafted in gratifying way you did yourself and can't buy that way..
      So it's real knice to see UA-camrs do it because while you enjoy it at the same time it teaches or inspires other to do it to..

    I will personally never understand micarta. No appeal to me at all but it’s nice that we all have options.
    I was looking at this knife and the Kapara as the carry profile and blade shape is similar. I decided on the Kapara and It just arrived 15 minutes ago in the mail. Wow! What A knife. Action is awesome and incredibly sharp right out of the box. Love it.

    I am thinking of going with a stainless pocket clip for my Gail Bradley 2 with the original scales and screws… the black screws blend nicely with the carbon fiber scales and I just thought it’d look better with a stainless pocket clip to go with the blade??? I'll tell ya a lil secret that I do, I take the cloth buffing wheel and spray a ken schwartz 1 micron diamond spray on it and then after I sharpen a knife I very very lightly and on low speed go over the edge and it completely removes any burr and leaves you a stupid sharp polished edge!

I’m also wondering if there’s any chance that maybe some two hole pocket clips would work like that from a Benchmade??? My micrometer has a dead battery and I’ve been unable to measure em’

  • @lavenderpants8695
    @lavenderpants8695 4 роки тому

    I definitely plan on doing the same to mine. Haven't decided what scales I really want yet though. I need to get a green stone for finishing first before I start.
    I also planned on smoothing out the teeth on the lockbar itself. I think the serrations are rediculous and unnecessary. I have calloused thumbs and those serations just shred the callouses right off my thumb. It's really excessive. The spyder hole is also sharp. I really never understood why they leave the edges of the hole as sharp as they do.

    • @lavenderpants8695
      @lavenderpants8695 4 роки тому

      And before somebody says "it costs a lot more to chamfer", yeah maybe for small makers in the US is might, but this is from Taiwan, they have the machinery to do that. Honey Badger puts an amazing bevel and chamfer on their deployment holes on the D2 models that make the inside smooth and a general pleasure to use. And those knives aren't expensive.

    • @NeevesKnives
      @NeevesKnives  4 роки тому

      Yeah I kind of like the holes to be semi sharp but a small chamfer would do well, when the chamfers are big thats when you slip off when they are small thats when they are perfect, my jimping isnt very sharp but could have been with the way its cut, they must have smoothed mine a bit, and the green stone does smooth it out but the orange is pretty smooth as well, the buffing wheel would work also because its already so smooth, but the green does kinda help blend it all in its a very soft stone though. What is your detent like? Mine is on the lighter side
