The GB 2 is one of my favourites and I love the fact I can put in my pocket on a Saturday night and Monday morning it’s ready to work hard. The Carbon Fibre over the G10 looks classy and feels nice and is pretty tough, but still I would love natural micarta scales on it. Take care loved the video and subbed.
I’ve wanted a sebenza for 15 years and thought it was the holy grail. I recently got the 31 and it’s a great knife but not exactly what I was expecting.
Great video brother. GB2 is one of my all time favorites. If you want m4 thinly ground on a hollow grind, it’s the only game in town! It’s absolutely no nonsense and meant to just cut. Lots of people seem to forget that’s what all these knives are for after all! 🤘🥃🏝
Funny, i watched your video on the malibu when i ordered one, and you made me very happy with your review, and when i got it, i loved it. Now, i just ordered a GB2 and found your video 👍
I just picked up a GB2 in the Millie, PM2,Para3 club. Had to watch your video and get your opinion of it. Can’t wait to get it and use it. Probably gonna end up putting those micarta sharp dressed knives scales on it too. I like micarta for my carry knives. Thanks Jake for a great thorough review!
I sold mine and I've been regretting it. I just scored another one on the secondary today and I can't wait to have it back in hand. I plan to get sharp dressed scales for it soon. 👍
People nit-pick about things they find from open/closing a knife like 20-100 times in a row, which is something you do with a fidget toy, not a tool. The purpose of a folder is to pull it out, open it, use it, close it, put it away.. once. Not 30 times in a row. Just my .02
That’s fair. But most people in the hobby do open and close the knife 30 times in a row haha. Of course it’s ability to cut effectively is most important. But it’s possible to make a knife that does that and is fun to play with. It’s the expectation at this point and I think that’s good.
Knives are adult fidget toys, fidget factor in a knife is something knife people look at over almost everything else. A knife can be a tool, weapon and a fidget toy.
My problem with this knife was the liners extend out past the dimensions of the scales. do these new scales extend out further than the original scales? are the new scales the same dimensions as the liner? Or do they duplicate the specs of the micarta?
Hey bud quick question if you don't mind. You said it at the beginning but I wanted to be sure. For the scales your referring to the ones called "Natural Brown Canvas Micarta" it's all the way at the bottom. It looks like what you have but I just want to be sure cause I'm doing pretty much the same setup as you (sorry but it looks awesome haha) Love your videos and keep up the hard work man. 👍👊
Just picked one of these up and I’m digging it so far. The stock scales aren’t my favorite, will be looking to swap to micarta and I’ll probably Dremel out some more access.
I really like my GB2. It’s one of my favorite spyderco’s. I agree I would like it better as a compression lock but I have no real gripes. I need to get some sharp dressed knives scales for mine.
I wasn't gonna get it because of the price but was able to pick one up yesterday at a great price so I'm looking forward to having it in hand and seeing how it feels. I think if they put a compression lock on it, it would drive the price up by at least $30-40 Would love to see it as a back lock. That natural micarta looks awesome on it. I'll wait until they come back in stock or maybe even get custom wood scales for it.
I agree to all you said about this knife, as you know is one of my favorite, less the detente that I found a little weak (you can open the knife with a wrist movement - down and up) Thank you for the video Jake (SDK have sent the scales yesterday ;) )
I get the impression this is the knife that sooner or later you’ll `gravitate‘ towards. Since it came on the channel, I’ve transitioned from not really liking it to `maybe‘ this has a place in the collection after all and the scales, are subtle and really sweet. You were right to pick this up and, it wouldn’t surprise me if I do the same. As ever, thanks for the review Jake 😄👍
Hi Jake. I do like your upgrades to the Bradley. It gets me thinking that it might be a big improvement. I do however hate the lock access. I can get to it if my thumb is dry but if I have any moisture, like hand lotion, or anything that might soften the skin on my thumb...forget about it. It’s just not a pleasant opening...lol. I too have considered grinding it down a bit but I think this was an easy one and should have been part of the original design. I mean, WTF? Other than that I really like this knife and maybe just enough to spend the extra bucks on on the scale and clip upgrade. Thanks for the review and that suggestion.
I agree that it should have been designed for it to be easier to access the lock and also the hole, but it is not hard to reduce the show side. And it makes it so much better. I ground mine back farther than most people do so that the hole is also completely unobstructed. I took the hump all the way off on the show side. Even just taking the liner down a little will help alot.
Beautiful knive, I’m struggling picking between Which of 3 knives I want right now. My budget only allows me to have one good knife around $200 every month or two because so use Sezzle(which is amazing). This is a fantastic review and I agree about the PM2/Benza baby comparison. Both are phenomenal lifetime knives that are meant to be used. Both are beautiful and have wonderful blade shapes/steel/Ergos. It has a Sebenza Size and kinda ergonomic shape but the Spyderco look.
Good video! I did the same to my GB2 and came to the same conclusion regarding the Sebenza comparison. The lock on mind sticks like crazy which is more of a problem than the access (even though I did the mod). Why no love for Chris Reeve?
@@beardedgear I agree, not a fan of the 21 myself. Have you tried the 31, Inkosi, or the Umnumzaan? I really think they are both better than the 21, mainly for the ceramic ball detent
Why is it that Spyderco can’t fix the liner lock bar access with a GB3. Everyone complains about it. I’d like to buy the knife to add to my Spyderco collection, but hey Spyderco… I won’t buy it until you fix it!
I like spyderco. But all they do is the same thing. Just different steels or names. Change it up some spyderco. I have a manic with a saber grind. G 10 scales. Manix. Not manic. Un

Good review. If you had a choice between the M4 blade and the new Cruwear version at Blade HQ which would you choice blade steel wise?

The more I see your thoughts on this knife the more I want it. Now, let's see the CRK fan boys go crazy! 🤣🤣🤣
Haha I do have a special way of stirring up the CRK fanboys 🤣🤣
So Kyle did you ever get one?
@@jimmymassie8420 Never did. Always something else to buy. 🤣🤣
Your impression it's a hard use work knife is spot on. That's what Bradley designed the original model for.
This knife is really awesome and the review is worth watching great video and great scales that you swapped for

Have one on the way now. I'm just worried about the liner lock. I hope it's solid like everyone says it is.

Ordered one after your watching your video. Contacted sharp dressed knives if they ship to Holland👍🏻
Such a great looking design. Great to hear your thoughts on it.

Now that rivers edge does cerakote I might get my liners and blade cerakoted

Appreciate you taking the time to watch as always man! And I’m glad you ended up more interested in the knife, it’s a good one 👊🏻
Would you rate the Mini Adamas against the GB2?

How is the detent?
Just bought one a couple days ago. I need those scales though lol
For sure man! They make a big difference! Stoked you got one 👊🏻
GB3 a’la para3 and it would be in my pocket. Prefer 3” blades max...I’m city slicker thru and thru
Wish Spyderco would put a compression lock on that bad boy lol. I'd definitely buy one if they did bc I love the compression lock

Holy shit. Thats like a folding machete. That thing is enormous!
I like the slimmer profile.
Too bad they’re sold out of micarta scales. The ones I got for my PM2 from RGT made a world of difference
I bet he’ll have more soon!
