    Mapex are massively underrated, I think they are the best value drums on the market ( in the U.K. that is)

      FYI to anyone looking at the Mapex Falcon boom stands... the quick set cymbal holders are all plastic and the threading inside strips and they stop working. I know because I have two of them. I don't really mind much, because otherwise the stands are great, and I use the Tama quick sets. I have them on all my other cymbal stands so it doesn't really bother me and they work great, even though they're also plastic ... yeah, I don't know, better design I guess, they're very popular

      about the Metal it’s good for snare stands and cymbal stands if it’s an armory one but the pedals suck

    Hardware is something that's overlooked a lot, but is key for a drummer.

      For sure. Hardware has to be reliable. The worst and last thing you want during a gig is a malfunction. Good hardware prevents you from this situation. It is not a bad idea to spend some bucks on good quality stuff - the Falcon Series is definitely one of those.

    I've used the same Falcon double pedal and hi hat stand for a couple years and absolutely love them. By far the best I've ever played and one of the best drum investments I've ever made. Plus they go nice with my older Saturn Series kit. Nick, thanks for finally giving the hardware some love! Looking forward to more hardware videos.

    I'm waiting for the day nick says at ONE SINGLE CON for anythinggggg. Obviously he works for sweetwater and is trying to sell the product but that also makes these reviews only half honest which is only the positive and good features and the compliments he gives all different kinds of gear. But out of all the kits and pedals and hardware and snares he has reviewed, I know there are things he didn't like about certain things or the way something sounds or feels. But he doesn't mention any con or negative thing which I think is important for the consumer to know. But all that said I do think sweetwater makes the highest quality and best sounding drum review videos. I just think there's nothing wrong with pointing certain things out that aren't up to par. Cause every gear isn't perfect for everyone.

      Yeah or just discuss what is good for one type of player but not for another.

    • @sjang816
      @sjang816 6 років тому +2

      Andy Ham agree completely. top of the line equipment vs low priced 'budget' stuff, it's almost the same review. but like you said he can't go into negatives. they're not so much reviews but showcases. they're trying to sell product, not list pros and cons. but it doesn't paint a totally unbiased picture and sort of does an injustice to someone really wanting to find out the good and 'bad'. but also most things are subjective. I see both sides but I'd like to see one review where nick says 'i really don't like this strainer/throw-off, it's not conveniently placed, etc. but nick is still the best, I'd rather watch a completely biased nick video than others that list pros and cons. even if all kick drums are boomy, 'beefy' and punchy. I'll stop rambling now.

      It's less of a review and more of a demonstration.

      He didn't look convinced during the NFuzd demo with the company rep/developer. No surprise the price dropped from $1600 to $600 after a year.

    I’ve never had more critical pieces fail me in such close proximity (time wise) than on a mapex falcon pedal. Their stuff is BRILLIANTLY designed, and unbelievably cheaply made. I’d steer clear. Go with tama, dw, pearl. It’s a shame, because the falcon pedal was arguably the best feeling pedal I ever owned. Just wasn’t reliable at all.

      @@hoozerob well it should be noted that I play five nights per week, four hours per gig, sometimes more than one gig per day. So I probably was putting waaaaaay more ware and tear on that thing than most people would. But to answer your question, beaters broke, chain broke, spring broke, hinges gave out, almost everything that could break on the thing, broke on the thing haha. Switched to a dw 9000, and am currently on a set of speed cobras. Love em!

    Mapex hardware is in my top 3 of best hardware, behind DW and Pearl

    • @AMDpc067
      @AMDpc067 6 років тому +4

      CR7TheGunner disagree, dw cymbal stands are not smooth and sexy like the mapex, dfw stands are bulky and each segmented adjustable section is square. Mapex all the way

    • @paradigmshiftz7
      @paradigmshiftz7 6 років тому

      Jesse Morin I understand your point, and I agree. Also, DW's high end hardware is SUPER heavy. The (high end) Mapex Falcon hardware is really light.
