I usually stay on the ship while I Nassau because I've been there so many times. I use that as a day to pamper myself in the spa since there are a lot of good deals to be had.

When I first started cruising - always got to know the cruise director - would see him/her all over the ship - even on some shore excursions- but now the ships are soooooo big - rarely get a chance to interact with the cruise director - but have met other members of the crew who have sent free gifts to the cabin (hotel director - at guest services for instance)!!
Carnival also gives out a Free Cruise I think it's during one of the talks . Can't remember at the moment but every cruise I've been on somebody has one one..

On my 2nd cruise, as my cousins & I were waiting on our excursion, I purchased 20 raffle tickets for $20.(not a gambler) but what the heck, I asked the member to blow on my tickets he blew on the first one, so I asked him to blow on all of the rest, he was so nice to do so, my 2nd ticket was the winning ticket... I won a FREE 7 day Cruise in an Ocean View cabin, aboard Carnival Conquest, AWESOME!!! Great advice, Ms. Jenny & Mr. Tony See y'all on the Lido ;)
In the old days of cruising on disembarkation day - everyone would be waiting in the atrium area (sitting anywhere you could find a spot) and filling in the survey card - there was a box in the middle of the atrium to put your completed survey & if you were sitting on one of the upper levels of the atrium - you’d just toss them down & someone would put them in the box - and one of those cards would be chosen to win a free cruise for 2!! I was never a winner - but just having been on a cruise - WINNER!!

On our first cruise on the Magic there was a raffle for free cruises in the theatre. They gave out at least 4 and there was a group of about 25 with matching shirts that had 2 winners in it. Dr. E told the mixer to do a better job lol. Not sure about the amount of days though. Good video!

I've been watching you both. It's almost like my first cruise (last one was in 2005 on the Holiday)...me my husband and 10 year old daughter leave September 8th on the Fantasy. Thank you so much for the great tip! Be sure and let everyone know to turn their cell phones to airplane mode to miss roaming charges.
The whole life jacket thing varies... depends on which cruise line... just read the info in the cabin and listen to the PA announcement.... and when you do the lifeboat/muster station thing... carry a water bottle with a G&T in it....
One important note that many people may not know (and Tony touched on it a bit), but ports of call are not guaranteed. The cruise line may try to substitute ports, but in case any are skipped, a passenger can get a refund for their port fee, but they must ask for it.
They also give out a free cruise in the casino. I think we’ve seen that on each cruise we’ve been on. Royal Caribbean gave out a free cruise at bingo one day each cruise we were on. We have been offered drinks in the casino, not only because of gambling, but because of tipping the dealers. We get the drink package, so we don’t need it, but they typically give drinks to the whole table after we leave a few tips.

Beware of the term "duty free". Every port and the ship's shops will advertise it but when your cruise finishes, you will be subject to the limits of the return country. Generally, there are limits on alcohol, cigarettes, cash and merchandise. Keep all receipts and be honest on your customs declaration. If your limit is exceeded, you will have to pay a relatively small amount. If you are caught with items not declared there may be a fine in addition to the unpaid duty. Let the buyer beware.

Regarding complaining. After a few days I reported that while FB messenger was working with the wi-fi the ability to collect email was not working. I asked for a prorated refund for the days it didn't work. I was polite and considerate. They refunded my whole payment for internet but didn't cut us off.
La Lido Loca The cd made announcements but was definitely boring. The cd was in the theater doing announcements & it was more theatrical than engaging with passengers. Was a very busy ship, sold out sailing.

Depends on the cruise line and maybe the ship. The Carnival cruise we have been on were salt water. The Princess cruise was fresh water. - Tony
They change the water for each cruise so the water is always cold for me. I have to go in the hot tub first and then maybe the pool
