This is one of the best videos I've ever seen regarding the deep ocean. Thank you so much for making it! I've watched almost all of your short videos, so I was delighted to see you put out a longer one. Keep up the GREAT work! :)
8:14 crab: "Wait no no *grab* no NO no no"
We have only scratched the surface...I appreciate seeing this part of our planet anew, and hope MBARI does more of these longer, more encompassing videos. I firmly believe that all of our past and all of our future can't be possible without this mostly uncharted frontier.
Some of the best deep sea fish footage I've seen on the internet.
Impressive documentary, well narrated, with interesting content and plenty of footage.
Yes, we do appreciate the comments on the copyright warning. It was originally added because this was a DVD distributed in much higher resolution to schools and libraries (about 3,700 copies). We do hope that people will respect the copyright and not post elsewhere without permission. Thanks for watching!
Lol
It might be difficult :). But what you could do is following us on Facebook (search for Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI)) and on twitter (@MBARI_news) if you want to discover more exciting animals and learn more about us!
Thank you xxxx enjoyed this and have saved to show my daughter who I know will love it xxxx
I love how the crab just grabbed onto the giant worm and flew away! Great video I wish it had more views! Plus the part with the lights was golden and answered most of my questions about bio luminescence!
Ze zijn mooi van lelijkheid 👍👍❤❤
That video was absolutely amazing! Im always surprised by the diversity that is found in the deep ocean. Thank you to our loving Creator for his wonderful works!
I feel so stupid. This whole time I assumed the "sea cucumber" was just a type of plant that grew in the sea that was in the same family as a cucumber.
Turns out its an actual animal like a starfish
Its sad they don't show anything like this on TV.. Everything is about
'rare' footage, dramatic music, and 10 cutscenes in a minute ..
Isn't it just basic supply and demand? If people were brighter, then you'd see almost nothing but programming geared towards inquisitive people, since that's where they money would be. As it stands, the average person has the attention span of a hummingbird combined with the mind of a child, and needs constant visual stimulation, like watching the Kardashians. "Smart", just isn't as profitable.
Het is een wonder dat deze dieren kunnen
Leven zo diep in de oceaan.
Ongelooflijk
From a recent study of fish and their vision; from what I understand is that the eyes of fish and some sea creatures are meant to pick up or see sparkles and the glowing lights of everything underwater. It is as if their night-vision is distorted not in forms of silhouettes or figures; what the sea creature see are dots making the bioluminescent creatures to become even more illusive and distracting. It is as if the underwater-world is filled with fireworks, like in outer-space.
Intressing.
What was the song during the ending credits? It's really pretty
i like this video.. :)
Bio lumenescence is awesome how is energy used to illuminate
What was the jellyfish that was shown at 13:33
8:12 Why is this so funny??
15:50 is this a blob fish?
the ocean is large...
very very very large... and people dont usally go there, so we dont know that much about it. Even if every human on Earth started explorering the ocean today, we wouldnt be done before 2100. We know so little, because there is so much of it.
9:00 bioluminescence
I really wish I went to college for this. I wanted to explore the sea. I guess a teaching degree does not qualify for employment....
they are all kaijuus
Like if UCI Aguilar Roca recommended you to watch this! XD :P
cuuuuuu hagfish
Help me please. I have contacted you prior no. One got back to me. I found a little octopus at the beach.really sick. I brought it home nursed it back. When I brought him back. He would not go...I brought him home. It is great. I give him bottles to open. He loves clams.. I put a mirror in with it...it's whole body blows up it tries to fight the mirror. Maybe he escaped someone who was going. To eat it.
pretty sure you can't stop people copying a video you've uploaded to youtube.. Cool video anyway.
Very nice.. Until you said that "E" word...☝️🙏😇
Sexy voice.
But, overall, nice coverage of the deep sea.
Who else is watching this boring thing because of school jeez.. I have to catch up to Mr.Beast

Boring is honestly reading your pointless message! You might actually learn something if you have enough attention span in that "brain" of yours!
My teacher made me watch this😡😡😡😡
So sad for poor you! Maybe you actually learned something! SMH!
