Hi, great video. I have 2 waves soundgrid setups using self build servers (like a hp desk computer with the specs of an extreme server, which cost me only 230 euros instead of 2500 each) and a mgb and mgo interface. I can connect to any madi enabled console, coaxial or optic (digico, soundcraft vi,...) or midas aes50 (throuhg a klark technic network bridge with a madi card) without adding latency. The only limiting factor is the connectivety options/ports of the console. Thats why I mostly have to work in a 48khz environment due to the lack of connectivity. BUT it ALWAYS works. As a monitor engineer i need the very lowest latency, therefor i always use shure ur4d (0 latency) or sony dwx (codec 2 mode, 1,5 ms) or axient (1,8ms) vocal mics. So it's an affortable way to use the incredible 0,8ms soundgrid system, and I love it. I've run over 1000s of shows without any problem (also with extra's eg midi over ethernet snapshot control trough ableton etc....) LATENCY is my key word, so i first want to know what kind of 3rd party vst plugins i can run on this new system. Now i can only use a selection of the waves plugins for iem use due to additional latency eg mv2, c6, c4, clarity vx,... I really wonder how many 3th party vst's will run without adding frames... I've seen prices for the fourier box over 10400 dollar. Not very cheap :(:(:(. I have also tried to convert madi to dante via a klang vokal interface on the yamaha ql/cl series, but in some way it was increasing latency enormous. The only way to run waves soundgrid on these yamaha consoles is by using the 16ch waves io cards, which is very limiting for multichannel use. Thats probably the reason why a soundgrid to dante network bridge is sooooo damn expensive. So it felt strange to notice that the fourier system only runs by dante and the new waves system allows both??? I thought dante was to slow...

I’ve been using LV1 daily for around 6 monthes and have been LOVING it. Would be amazing for them to add 3rd party plugins to that!

I will say ive been running Superrack Performer over USB with my Behringer Wing and it got the update to allow 3rd party plugins and its been really nice. Using Slate Trigger live on all my drums in the room.

That sounds awesome. Have you had any issues? What's latency like?

      @@rayok_zed192ms for trigger 😬
If u have a big room (800-1000 seats) u won’t feel the latency..

The thing that makes me suspicious is I feel that Waves have had this capability for some time now and it took the Fourier transform engine to push Waves to release something to compete

Looking at the Soundgrid servers this box will just be a PC with consumer grade hardware in it running Windows and SR Performer. I think it will just add interface cards for Dante and Madi to have the lowest possible latency. In the end you will probably be able to recreate this box without paying the Waves premium, just like the current SG servers.

What would your dream live guitar vst setup be? Mine: Amek 250, Neural suite, eventide suite, waves ir suite, Valhalla supermassive, waves key gates, Abby roads tape, amek 9099, elysia alpha.

Ooooo I like this question. Currently I’m using the Morgan amps suite from Neural. I’m running everything in ableton with an La-2a compressing my dry tone before the amp. Post amp I’m running wet/dry with a sound toys echoboy, supermassive, and a little radiator on a wet bus. My dry bus has a micro shift and a tremolator after the amp that I can switch on via midi. I also have an extras bus that is kind of just a creative sandbox. Right now I’ve got a crystallizer feeding back into the wet bus that sounds really crazy but is dope for ambient stuff.

Yeah, it just wouldn't make sense if it wouldn't work with superrack or lv1. I'm gonna scrap stuff together to sell to get it when it comes out. I'm on the dlive platform. I personally haven't ran into bugs. On a mac m1. and i have a pc that i use for our mobile rig. but for the most part waves has been really solid for me. other then the subscription issue. What bugged me the most was the licenses would have to be repurchased. I think this was in large because people would use cracked licenses and get all of the waves plugins for free. So I think the audio community (the pirates) kinda brought this on to all of us. not justifying waves stance, just seeing it from a monetary perspective. I was furious about the subscription model. But it was going to cost where i work close to 2700 to renew all the licenses we have. so we decided to go the subscription route for now. and we just left multirack cause our macs were being dumb. So, all that to say, i'm glad there is two vst engines/servers on the market. i hope there is more.

Yeah I definitely agree with your last point. The more competition, the better.

Transform.Engine update: 1-25-24; you’ll be able to swap your digico waves card for a dante card when you purchase the transform.engine 👍
