I remember dreaming about a 16bit sampler when i had an Amiga back in the days… Funny to see that people now buy plugins to go back in time! I wish i had never sold my Amiga 😢
Yea for sure! Everything got a little too clean/robotic and now people want all that old school grit & degradation in the sound. Sad you sold your Amiga 😢. Hope Amigo can be a new friend to help you through the loss 😊
I made my first music with different trackers on my Amiga500, back then. It is so nice to have this back in the box today. This plugin sounds absolutely awesome!
Big ups Dario! :) I had to really with the 8-bit style, so fun! I snuck somehting in at 6:24 & 6:35 I was particluarily proud of 😊 I've honestly been loving the plugins to massive congrats to you guys! ✌🚀
Cheers Dennis! :) Was such a fun video to make. I love the theme - might do everything in 8-bit from now! Amigo is amazing - glad you've gotten into it also. Hope your well mate ✌️😊🚀
Of all the plugins I bought for the last year (and probably longer), this is by far the one I'm most excited about. It just drags me to it. The intuitiveity of the UI, the feeling, the sound. Makes me want to use all the expensive plugins and hardware I have, sample them and drop them into amigo. It sounds so gorgeous and the workflow just clicks with me. I think for the last project I haven't used a single track without it ^^. So good
I agree! I mean the UI is just amazing to work with. It's so simple and easy to navigate - actually makes a huge difference compared to other similar plugins. I've been loving using it for the last week or so ✌️🚀😊
Sounds great in Renoise if you want something fun and crunchy, works great in Reaper for my go to sampler. Timestretch is really cool - like having an akaizer you can automate. Goes from clean-ish and warm to ultra crunchy. For 12 bucks or w/e totally worth it.
I like that "Interpolation on/off" feature. I had a Cheetah SX16 sampler back in the day and you could get more polyphony by turning off the anti-aliasing filters - it gave a similar "crispy EQ" effect and I started using it to brighten drum samples..
Oh that's dope - i've never heard of the Cheetah SX16 - seems like quite a rare sampler these days. Yea turning the interpolation off really comes through with drums. That bit of bright distortion often adds a nice bit of character, especially when you pitch them down a lot.
@@groovining I bought it for the chord memory, I've always wanted to do the one finger chords like they did back in the day. I love Amigo also :) It's dope and such a simple UI. Sad to hear your computers been down and out. Makes you realise how far they've come when your back on an old laptop! Nice idea about the RGB and the multi-output option would be cool also. I will pass on the info to the developers ✌️
The sampler is super cool but your music is even cooler!! Would be awesome if you could breakdown how you made it or at least list the samples you used? Thanks!❤🔥
@@groovining Hey George. Thank you for sharing the above link-im loving it. But what I meant was I would be very interested to see how you put the Amigo VST Walk through video together? (and I'm sure many others too) I'd love more info on what samples you used (I'll buy them :)) And maybe even the automation you used to control the Amigo samplers. I actually have been studying the 'Amigo' vid trying to figure out what you did to put it together. haha It's just a thought! :) At any rate thank you for being an inspiration!
I know it's a huge amount of work-just a suggestion and I'll support your Patron when I can-also big ups to your crazy cool vids.....ok done with my obsequiousness! haha PEACE!
Haha all good dude - Do you mean the video editing process or the just the music? I'm definitly going to do a breakdown of my full editing/animating process at some point as lots of people are asking for one. The automation I'm mainly doing in this video on on the forwards/backwards button in Amigo. Just automate it on/off with step automation. Also automate the phase control with breaks & the amount of glide for the bass. Glad you enjoyed the vids anyways :) 😊🌴
This is a realy great sampler the logical upgrade would be to to have it go up to the Modern sample rates and keep the clasic rates as well ,Tal sampler does that then it could be your ful goto sampler But hey I do luv it its great
Yea I think it's great 2! The new version coming in the next month or so does have increased sample rates which is dope. I haven't used Tal as much as I'd like as both Renoise & Logic have great in-built samplers. Amigo is where I go for everything else these days as the UI is so easy to work with :)
I love my hardware samplers ❤️ but this could well have an impact on people thinking about going the Amiga -Octamed/protester route. For £10 and none of the hassle it’s great. 😊 🚀
having a weird issue with mine, just purchased it and using it on ableton, dropped a sample in and i play a key it keeps playing to the end of the sample and doesnt stop when i lift off the key and i cant change the colour of the sampler. weird
Mannnn the first beats I ever made were on a Tracker Program 😂 I think it was called RTtracker maybe? Anyways that program in windows kicked off a lifelong obsession for me. Looking back I had no clue at the time where it would take me
Yea it’s crazy how it all begins like that. Some shitty free/lite version of a daw when your 15 and then years later your still cracking away at it. I love trackers - specifically Renoise these days is the best. 🚀
what device are you using to map the break 1 and break 2 phase and then have them both on another knob??? thats so dope in ableton it wont let you control them independently once you map them to a macro!!! about 4:53 in
In Renoise it the Inst. automation devices. They respond to different instruments so you can combine multiple of them into one Doofer (Macro device). One way to do this in ableton would be to map each to a midi controller individually. then map them both to another midi CC on the controller. 😊✌️🚀
Thanks for the great review. I started using Amigo this week I love it. Question about mapping. I'm using the Alesis VI49 keyboard controller, but I don't know how to get the samples mapped to the pads on the keyboard. I haven't seen a mapping or midi learn feature on the Amigo UI. Any suggestions?
You don't need to map as Amigo just uses the keyboard notes . i.e C1-C4. You need to find a way to transpose the pads on your keyboard controller to hit the right midi notes.
Maybe I missed it but what exactly is the gate function for? Also when I use thru mode I’ll draw how long I want the note too play on piano roll and it doesn’t matter how short I make the note or how long the sampler will play the entire loop from where I sliced it on the sampler. Just getting into jungle producing and having a bit of a rough time 😅
Gate is exactly that. With Gate on, drawing in a midi note or holding a key dictates how long the note plays for. With gate off the note just plays to the end of the whole slice when its triggered.
@@groovining hell yeah I knew it! I figured that now I’m gonna try with thru on been loving this sampler! Also noticed that using the pitch makes the sample play back faster for me for some reason am I doing something wrong?
This is exactly what happens when you pitch sounds up - they speed up also. The only way to get around this is through timestretching. DAWs like Ableton and Logic etc. have this function where you can manipulate pitch and time differently. But the old-school or natural way is how Amigo does it.

@@groovining nah the audio is in there too my bad if I didn’t explain well. So far I’m am able to get sound if I go to piano roll but I can’t just press space to run the track in amigo. I’m having difficulty with getting the slices to actually run in play back too
@@andreslugo6660 The track won't run in amigo. You will trigger it via midi from the piano roll & play from FL. Same as the slices - then will go from C2 up the keyboard I think the default is.
For most people the cost & effort to setup and learn Octamed on an Amigo is too much. Far easier to have a plugin for £10 that gets you close to what you want. :)
I use Renoise which is bascially a combination of all the best parts of those old trackers. Amigo does it's best to emulate some of the 8-bit sound quality an actual Amiga. It's also just a dope sampler VST for £10
@@paulfrieda6486 I use raum by native instruments and H-Delay by waves. They are pretty much my go to delay/reverb. A great free delay is ‘deelay’ which is similar. Valhalla vintage verb is a good alternative to raum. But I love the air setting on raum :)
Akai timestretch, sample start/end modulation. Sample rate reduction, true 8 bit. There is a lot of cross over and Renoise is better for most things with all the tracker FX but Amigo still has value for sure 😊 🚀
The vocal is actually from Justin Timberlake tiny desk where I chopped up his performance, pitched and added lots of FX. The speech is AI eleven labs and the pad is the same as 3:12 and is from my sample pack - www.groovingbiz.co.uk/aquaticdreams
I have a Digitakt/Digitone & have used Polyend Tracker in the past. The sequencer in Renoise is a beast by comparison and super creative with all the Tracker FX, Step Automation etc. It also interfaces really well with hardware through midi/midi mapping/ midi macro's controls etc. ✌️

Just program them on one lane in Renoise with gate on. The lanes are monophonic in Renoise.
@@groovining new to renoise 😞. How I turn gate on a track? 🫤
@@emuthaslice Gate in Amigo. Program on one track in Renoise
@@groovining agh 🫠. Got you 🫡
ive been struggling to get this on ,y FL studio
any suggestions
Should work fine whatever DAW your using. The biggest thing I think people have is dragging the vst3 into vst folder rather than vst3 folder.
Just got this🔥🔥🔥
It's wicked - great for breaks ✌️🚀😊
dude, how do you edit videos like this, i am just watching it like "how"
Photoshop, Midjourney Ai, Premier Pro, After Effects and of course a year at hogwarts 🪄 :) ✌️😊🚀
I'd be curious to see your opinions on Beepbox/Ultrabox.
I’ll check this out for sure! Just away for a few days :)
can you please do a tutorial on how to install it? Ableton is not reading it somehow :(
You've got to make sure you drag VST3 in VST3 or VST to VST. seems to be the problem most people are having :)
Bought this wicked bargain a few days back. Am I right it thinking you can't stretch a loop to the actual DAW tempo?
you do it the old school way :) using pitch and finetune by ear u match the sample to DAW tempo
@@stekker1 cool, thanks for this amazing vst.
@@stekker1 you could time stretch all the loops you want to use beforehand to the same BPM. Then bounce each loop to a WAV and put them into Amigo.
@@forestsunset9617 ofcourse that works too :)
hi,what was that tracker u used? and how to connect it to this plugin? is just midi ccs you are somehow sendig via it?
I use Renoise. To use the Plugin you just load it as a VST software instrument and send midi to that instrument.
how do you get the Amigo sampler to play? It shows up in my VSTs on FL and i can pull the program up but it won't play
You need to drag audio into it. I think you need to look up what a sampler is :)
Yeah I was bugging 😬😂 I didn’t realize the slices would register from q through p on the laptop keyboard. It’s cause I’m not using a MIDI
@@andreslugo6660 Glad you got it sorted 😊✌
why use a plugin that emulates the sound of old trackers instead of actually using the old trackers?
For most people the cost & effort to setup and learn Octamed on an Amigo is too much. Far easier to have a plugin for £10 that gets you close to what you want. :)
@@groovining what about the ft2 and protracker ports?
I use Renoise which is bascially a combination of all the best parts of those old trackers. Amigo does it's best to emulate some of the 8-bit sound quality an actual Amiga. It's also just a dope sampler VST for £10
I'm having massive trouble getting amigo to work on MPC beats, anyone have any ideas???
I haven't used MPC beats much but it should work just the same as any other VST. Does MPC beats let you load software instruments or just FX?
Hi Groove in G, what Reverb and Delay have you used? Thanks for reply. :)
@@paulfrieda6486 I use raum by native instruments and H-Delay by waves. They are pretty much my go to delay/reverb. A great free delay is ‘deelay’ which is similar. Valhalla vintage verb is a good alternative to raum. But I love the air setting on raum :)
hi i have a question where do i pay in US currency?
I'm sure you can just pay via card or PayPal and it will auto convert?
@groovining ok thank you
Are there any features that you don't get from just stock Renoise?
Akai timestretch, sample start/end modulation. Sample rate reduction, true 8 bit. There is a lot of cross over and Renoise is better for most things with all the tracker FX but Amigo still has value for sure 😊 🚀
can somebody please help me add this to my plugins in FL... i never had a problem adding ant vst to FL until this one. i have over 20
it's a vst3 u need to install in the vst3 system folder, read the .pdf manual included it tells u exactly how to install
@@stekker1 ithanks i got it already i wa putting it in the wrong folder lol
what the sample on intro?
The vocal is actually from Justin Timberlake tiny desk where I chopped up his performance, pitched and added lots of FX. The speech is AI eleven labs and the pad is the same as 3:12 and is from my sample pack - www.groovingbiz.co.uk/aquaticdreams
hi whats the old school tracker you are using ? Thanks
Renoise - my channel is largely built around this DAW. It's the best modern day tracker ✌️😊🚀
Thanks for getting back to me , I mostly use a hardware sequencer but this looks right up my street . Thank you
I have a Digitakt/Digitone & have used Polyend Tracker in the past. The sequencer in Renoise is a beast by comparison and super creative with all the Tracker FX, Step Automation etc. It also interfaces really well with hardware through midi/midi mapping/ midi macro's controls etc. ✌️
