Hello Ditch3r, Eagle Dynamics recently removed the dynamic shadows on the inside of the canopies of a.o. the F18, so in the cockpit view shadows created from eg the seat, canopy frame or HUD are no longer projected on the canopy glass (they still are projected on the cockpit panels) which is a shame IMHO. Did they change something to the properties of the canopy glass roughmet files to accomplish this you think ? For the A10C these shadows are still in full swing. Any ideas how to get them back for the Hornet ? I tried changing different channels of the canopy glass roughmet file based on the canopy glass roughmet file for modules like the A10 but to no avail... makes me wonder if it's another setting I need to adjust for the hornet... Thanks for your insights !!
I have not really looked into this, but I will. I was unaware they made this change, but I'm guessing it's around the time we saw the "Canopy Reflections" slider added. I'll take a look, but I'm guessing there is no way to change it back.
@@ditch3rgames Thank you, curious what your findings will be ! It's strange that many other modules are still generating said shadows, it's apparently not a global issue
For the description file, it's the same as any other line. Make sure the file name is correct and it is set to false. If you have more questions feel free to reach out to me on Discord, I can generally respond much quicker there.
Oh man! Wow! Lot's of knowledge applied here great job. I was wondering if there is a way to edit helmets and add my name to a jet to side of the canopy? Would that be easier than this process? Thanks.
The helmets are just another texture file. You can create it in the same way and add it to the description file. Adding your name would be just editing the texture file for that section. You can use the model viewer to find the helmet texture, as it's not included in most template packs.
@@ditch3rgames thank you! I watch your videos to learn how to make the "BOB".helmet from topgun maverick, for my new videos, and also to have my name on the jet. Maybe a tutorial from you about that? I know it takes a long time to make tutorials, just a suggestion, I have not seen any videos about helmet liveries. Cheers!
If you are wanting to change the texture (or font), create the texture and make sure it's being used in the description file. Currently some people are having problems with F-16 numbers showing only as 000 as well. If I remember right the original texture file is named F16_bort_number . dds if you need to find it. If you need more help, hit me up on Discord, I'm around most days. Ditch3r # 3550
Awesome mate, can’t wait to start :)
Let me know if you have any questions along the way.
Nice vid Ditch3r! Very helpful.
Thanks!
What a good tutorial. 👍👍👍
Glad you liked it

I missed where you edit the description file to use the roughmets. This part has been the hardest for me to learn with the f14

@ditch3rgames i definitely missed the line that tells it to use that file, i have it named correctly from the video. Is your discord posted here?
Thanks for the tutorial!
You’re welcome. 👍

Holy hell, that will take some rewatching... Might as well be talking Chinese with most of this stuff. ; )
It's a bit overwhelming at first, but it gets easier and easier the more you do it. Feel free to hit me up on Discord if you have any questions.
