I want to congratulate you on putting so much effort into this video. It could have been easier keeping the transfer case on the suk but you decided to remove it and put it in front of the camera for us to see. I know it made your work harder. Congrats, my friend, for doing an awesome job.
Main problem was that there wasn`t oil in it. I topped up but it ran out again (seals). And this pto stuff was busted, removed it and did aluminum plate for it to cover empty hole in transfer case. Also replaced all bearings. These counter shaft trust washers, they're actually made of steel but coated with copper or some that kind of stuff these were pretty bad too. When the counter gear have too big side to side play on its shaft it gives a noise. Disassemble it and i`m sure you find something
Good vid but one problem mate, NEVER use instant gasket on a transfer box, the paper gaskets allow for the correct clearance, if anyone else is pulling one apart, please, buy the proper paper gaskets and save yourself the problems you WILL encounter. Other than that, great vid mate!!👍
It`s a 4x4. There is so many gears because power train is bigger than it is on ordinary rear or front wheel drive car. Gear whine is common with many transmissions, particular gear shape or wear and varies in loudness with speed. Thicker oil can make it softer but not cure it.
You also have a severe universal failure in progress. Thats that wicked shudder at low speeds and th constant shaking of gearsticks. I think its the gearbox to transfer shaft unis. Beware!!! They can take the shifter section off the back of your gearbox and also tear a hole thru the tunnel right where your leg is when they fail!!
You sir deserve a medal for this! I've been looking for a solution for this problem for literally 6 months! I have the exact same issue you had, that annoying whining noise. Mine is actually loud as fuck and it got unbearable. Can you tell me hat parts do i need to purchase for this fix? is the petrowork transfer rebuild kit enough to fix this problem?? Thank you in advanced!
You skipped out the bit where you realised you put the bearing on the front output shaft too soon. Haha I nearly did the same thing when I rebuilt mine
Why did you rebuild it? what was actually wrong with it? I have a transfer case that the output that goes to the front is getting lose and I want to fix it before it starts eating up the gears inside or something.
i have a problem with my sj 413 case the worm screw for the speedo just spins in the tranfer box and the speedo doesnt work the clock work and the cable is fine we have replaced the gear and it still doesnt work ? help please
hello. Im about buy a 2002 suzuki jimny and it has one issue: the transmission does not shift gear well while it in 4wd. but it works fine in 2wd. what could possibley be the issue?
Easy 10 minute job! Just replace the transfer lever shift sheet, buy a poly one and you'll have slick shifts for longer! (lowrangeoffroad.com stock them).
Hello my friend, first of all take it easy. My suzuki is a 1.3 engine and I have difficulty going out on hills. I travel a lot on long roads and fields. How can I work with differential and transfer case gears without losing much speed? My differential rate is 3.90, my transfer case rate is 2.60 and my tires are 29.5 m/t
Hey, I AM from Brazil and I own a 95 samurai. It makes a weird noise that seens to come from the T case. I AM struggling to find someone who understand and could solve It. Could you give me some advice?
+Adam Czerwinski I guess all these problems together made this noise. When bearings are worn out gears can't work right there will be lots of play between gears and their teeth and it is noisy.
hey very nice video I teared mine apart because it has a lot of play when i turn the flange I changed all the bearing but the problem is still there do you have an idea of what could it be?
Alex Sanchez If not much thicker no but with lower temps in winter period you get higher gear resistance and fuel consumption. Also when it happens to be very thick this may can not flow there where lubrication is necessary.
nothing in the trasfer case got greased right? cause I am about to rebuild mine cause theres chunks of metal in it. Drove it a little to hard at a river
DaFonz29 Actually there is oil that will lubricate all the bearings and gears but bearing must be "opened" another type where is no rubber covers at least on one side. You see I have rubber covers and of course I greased them.
grease all needle bearings with wheel bearing grease and put gear oil on all open ball bearings. grease the gold thrust washers. if you don't bearings not sitting in oil will run dry until oil is slug up. to be safe change you oil after 10 miles then 100 miles. shim it if needed
Paper Gaskets and proper shimming of the case are important, not just permatex to seal it all. Guess you know more than the Suzuki engineers who built it? There will be noise and play without them.
Well close but no cigar guys. Gears in them are helical cut so have lots of side thrust. Over time the thrust bearings on the intermediate shaft wear. As does the gear itself. Wen rebuilding them fit new bearings and thrust washers. Leave the rest alonne!! And no gasket just silicone or stag or whatever your favorite jointing compound is. Bolt her up. Then turn it over. If its turning with your hands reasonably easy not tight or binding all is well. Yes they are shimmed at factory. But not very well. They are amazingly tolerant of a little freeplay
Hello taimo, I wanna ask you something about this video, i got the same car. If you can send me your email or something else to can tell you some questions please. Thanks a lot
This is the first time i have ever seen a samurai tc with a PTO box and it looks like it came like that originally.
Nice work.
came to see the rebuild... keep coming back for the tunes. ☺

I want a samurai so bad , cool video !
Great video! Thanks! I'm about to tear mine apart and now I know what it will all look like. I appreciate it.

Thanks for sharing really good video and apreciate ur effor to put this up for Us
haha nice! That looks like way more fun than when i had to pull the np205 out of mine. I thought there would be broken ribs before I was done.

Yeah, I agree but I didn't have a paper gasket. It's actually very hard to get anything for such a car.
@@TTR8310 years ago it was very hard to get parts, now you can build a brand new 2023 samurai from the internet
@@FreddyFunderbunz Do you mean for 2023 model year?

You are a pro! Great video!! Greatings from Portugal
Atleast someone have compassion, it is hard to fight with samurai.

I wish we had those PTO cases here in the USA
thanks so much for sharing!! is gonna be useful for me
Thank you. Very useful video.
Thank's for the good Video !
bravo

Thank you. Good video.
Good question!!
You skipped out the bit where you realised you put the bearing on the front output shaft too soon. Haha I nearly did the same thing when I rebuilt mine
I made the same mistake! He did not corrected on the video and unfortunately is the one I follow!!😬
Nice job
Why did you rebuild it? what was actually wrong with it? I have a transfer case that the output that goes to the front is getting lose and I want to fix it before it starts eating up the gears inside or something.
I wanted to do that but had no pipe this time. Compressed air was another thing I missed so lack of tools:(

Nice Work Bro...

Thx for the video. I rebuilt mine cuz my case got stuck in neutral. After rebuild I can't get it too shift. Seems stuck in neutral still. Help ! Thx.
Take the shifter out of the box and try with some bigger screw driver gear shift fork shaft should move back and forth.

Great vid bro
hey Taimo cant seem to engage my Suzuki sierra into gear after having it into 4L its stuck In neutral would that be my bushes in my transfer case
When that happened to my Suzuki it was the bushing under the shifter.

I use a three-legged bearing puller.
I want to support the fallopian
A do these vehicles just whine in the last three gears or what? when you went into 3rd I heard from then forward? thanks...

I put it in gear but it is not moving but the gearbox is working and the transfer box is working too
what numeration are theses deep groove ball bearings?6011 6009???
What spray are you using to clean the parts?
This was brake cleaner spray but gasoline is also usable there must brush then.
great video and how do I get my hands on one of these cases with the pto?
Good suzukiman

I just came here for the music.
hello my friend , i have one question , transmission inside parts of suzuki jimny's and suzuki vitara's are same ?
Can`t remember, randomly chosen at audiomicro.
To be sure - was any of the bearings causing the problem with the noise? Or just the oil level? Or just the PTO?
+Adam Czerwinski I guess all these problems together made this noise. When bearings are worn out gears can't work right there will be lots of play between gears and their teeth and it is noisy.

How you jack out the bearing from the shaft?
What happen to the PTO unit? Wish we had them here, I can think of many uses for them.
No oil this was the only reason I guess at first place.
The problem is where to order this replacement parts.
You can google or go to nearest dealership that sells spare parts for Suzuki.
Hi good video and how called new bearings, info ? Thanks :)
These are ball bearings can order them by size no need to buy from dealership.
hey very nice video I teared mine apart because it has a lot of play when i turn the flange I changed all the bearing but the problem is still there do you have an idea of what could it be?
I guess it is between the gears depends how much you have it something must be too much can break details. Gear sleeve is also a point.
there is going to be some play. download a manual. also check for in and out play may need to shim
How did you get the gears off without a press. I don't have a press and can't get them off. I'm in the middle of changing to 6.5:1 gears.
Bearing puller.
TheSierra1983 If I put thicker Gear Oil Other then what is Recommended for my manual transmission will it mess it up
Alex Sanchez

Thnxs Man, Keep up the Good work!
Also what should I put, Gear oil or Transmission fluid,or some other Fluid, thnxs
What is that red thing? Silicon?
What is the function of additional gearbox beside the back shaft ? 0:25
Andre Efriza This is PTO box and possible to attach oil pumps or something additional to it.
OEM or custom? I have some custom pto box , but it make oil flow from the gap
Andre Efriza OEM.
