TL:DR The make and model of the transmission is Daewoo Damas, a small van, so yes it should be able to handle least up to 500kg vehicle so any home made smaller size gocart maybe even cross cart driving. You can take any differential or hard axle of a car or get heavy duty oil bath 90degree gearbox and run chain drive to your own axle with chain and sprocket. On the input side of the gearbox you can mount any kind of engine and use ether centrifugal clutch or better yet CVT to get low gears and reverse, while CVT does the most of the work, though mind CVT will waste 15% of the engine power, but this makes good crawler type of vehicle into slight offroad applications and changing driving speeds. With added chain drive while not great for off road (cause branches etc might get between the chain even snapping it), you can adjust the gear ratios to suit your needs and desired speeds. Currently building something similar, but havent found short enough gearbox for this build and this too is too long for me, but might work for your project vehicle. Just remember to put the brakes on the axle instead of the gearbox, cause if something snaps you dont have brakes. Also if you run the CVT that kinda needs to have engine and gearbox side by side connected with CVT, you might want to add additional bearing to support the input side of the gearbox, cause it has not been designed to be pulled sideways. Check the explosion view of the gearbox before purchase and think the things trough if this fits to your build.

Yes it's working out of clutch simply coz no engine is connected....
the engine is already not engaged hence no need for clutch
The clutch is meant to disconnect the engine from the gears
