I saw her years ago at Starfest Denver, and she was one of the most gracious guests I've ever seen. She conveyed the joy of falling in love with her 2nd husband and we were all moved.
Oh man, I was in love with Col. Wilma Dearing. Erin Gray was my first crush. But seriously, Buck Rogers was an awesome show, and watched as long as it was in syndication.
I was wondering why you didn't mentioned Silver Spoons another great show. But than again she stared in it she wasn't always on like in Buck Rogers. I am glad to hear about how Gil helped her out on the set, and how they still get along.
I didn't know she suffered from so much abuse in her personal life. I remember watching her in both Buck Rogers and Silver Spoons. About twenty years ago I met her and Gil at a convention, she was as sweet and charming as she was on screen.
Great actress! The two of them had such great chemistry. Even when the plot lines dipped in satisfaction levels I still would watch just to see them. I remember her also in an independent Star Trek performance. Loved those shows. More important to tell a story with great performances than glitzy sets and costumes. Good luck should always be hers.
Always loved this girl! Saw her in magazines in the early 70's with that crop of models like Maud Adams, Lauren Hutton and others, while I was studying photography, composition, lightning and such. I always thought: Who's that girl? She's awesome! She's a babe! Then I saw her in commercials, bit parts and such and thought: who IS she!? I finally knew her name when she co-starred in "Evening in Byzantium" with Glen Ford; one of my favorite mini series, about a year or so before Buck Rogers. (Wish I could get a DVD copy of it!). Then I followed her career as best I could from there, as by that time I was a young filmmaker and paid attention to many actors in case I might be lucky enough to work with them one day. (And also because Erin has always been so gorgeous to look at!). Most recently I've seen her in a Cognium commercial, and as Admiral Gray in Vic Mignogna's excellent fan series "Star Trek Continues", which also sports a lineup of many other great guest stars. She remains a quite comely lady to this day. As an aside, we got our first TV in 1960 when I was 4, and I immediately cut my sci-fi teeth on the Buster Crabbe serials "Flash Gordon" and "Buck Rogers". That was my gateway, along with the George Reeves "Superman", Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, and the great (and the not so great) movies that ran on the weekends. Years later, it was a great fanboy moment for me when Mr Crabbe guest starred on the new show and told Gil, as the new Buck, "Young Man, I was doing this sort of thing before you were born!". Gil: "Oh, you think so old man?". Buster: "Young Man, I KNOW so!". Still gives me goosebumps to this day; awesome! And so is Erin Gray! Anyway, I'm proud to now own all three complete series in my collection. Now if anyone knows of Evening in Byzantium available out there, I would like to hear about it. So far, had no luck finding it in any video catalog or online. Would love a copy autographed by Erin herself! Happy watching, everybody!
I loved "Buck Rogers"! I always thought Erin Gray and Gil Gerard were friends. Their chemistry was good on screen, and the first season was so much fun!

We didn't have Buck Rogers here in Italy, at the time, so I fell in love with her on Silver Spoons. She had a bit of that "I know how stunning I am" attitude, but she combined it with a very honest look in her eyes, which made a perfect combination imho. After all, goddesses have to look somehow distant and unreachable, right? Best wishes to her and her family!
I watched both Buck Rogers and Silver spoons. I kind of see her as Jennifer Connolly of the 70s and 80s. Of course Erin came first . so sorry to hear about the abuse none of us knew about. But it’s amazing how she didn’t use it as a crutch , she survived it and moved on and helps others do the same.
The perfume commercial she did years before Buck Rogers is one of my first memories not just of her but ever, I remember being 20 something in the early 90's and finding out she was pregnant in that commercial in a where are they now just like this
Met her in Louisville, Ky, at i think a car show. It was during the TV show off time. There was a long line to get to meet her. So my brother and i stood off to the side just watching. Somehow, my brother made eye contact with her, and she surprised us by walking away from line and coming over to us. Well, she came over to my brother. They flirted with each other, and i was regulated to taking pictures. I must say she had on one of Buck Roger's outfits, and she was gorgeous . I hope my brother still has the pictures i took.
I am glad she has been able to move forward and address her personal issues. On Buck Rogers, she had a great character to play. I had wanted it to continue with her in it.
My favorite Erin Gray movie was The Six Pack with Kenny Rogers. That is one of my top 10 favorite movies. She has also been a celebrity guest at Dragon Con Convention in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. She is amazing.
I got her autograph at a Star Trek Convention. I was aFan of Buck Rogers. Season 2 was so bad - I tried to watch my DVD of it and gave up after 67 or 8 episodes. It was almost as bad as Lost in Space. Like the short dresses the female crew wore though. Remember when women actually had legs?
Wow what a beautiful and strong woman...sad to hear of all her abuse from all of the men in her own family not one of them were her hero's 😥 and I know the husband that came home from the Vietnam war obviously had his own nightmares and the government's at the time abandoned them all very sad indeed. I can only imagine his feeling empty inside after all of that senclessness of a "war" God help them and us all . The soldiers that go into these conflicts not being told the truth of what they are doing there . I digress... Poor wonderful lady she deserved much better from the men in her life.
She was beautiful AND strong while playing Wilma Deering but it didn’t seem to me that she disappeared. I saw her at a convention in the 1990s and she was still beautiful, confident, and well-spoken. Now Gil Gerard, HE disappeared.
I've loved her from Buck Roger's and Silver Spoons. I do have an autographed picture 📸. Unfortunately I haven't met her. I've had some conversations with Gil And his wife. I do have a few autographed pieces from Gil.

I do remember her from Silver Spoons -- but for me -- her most memorable role was as Layla -- Kenny Rogers' love interest in the movie Six-Pack -- I absolutely love, love, love that movie -- and I was just asking myself recently -- whatever happened to Erin Gray? Thanks for sharing! Peace!
My favorite story about Erin Gray that popped up years ago...Was that her son was in high school and they knew Erin Gray was his mother,so they would playfully tease him by saying bee bee bee, which was the robots catch on the show Buck Rogers.
met her at a Comic Book show many years with Fatass Gil Gerard - he was a rude prick, and she was fabulously sweet and kind.....as well as absolutely gorgeous! one of my childhood crushes :)
She didn't disappear, She has over 90 IMDB credits. For comparison Jack Nicholson has just shy of 80. Also I took classes in person from her multiple times, not about acting but Tai Chi and Qi Gong. For someone who disappeared, she is pretty present.
Am I missing something? It says she was abused at home by her father and step father but then goes on to say how they helped her by teaching her how to reach her subconcious through writing and using the left hand. Was this misread or misheard? I was 8-10 when buck rogers aired. I liked it all but her in the first season were my favorite. I am sure I didn't know why I liked it but I definitely liked it.
