So she got a stuffed Siamese cat with a wrist watch around his neck. We opened our mouths & looked in the mirror, to see what I had & she didn't, to identify tonsils!😺😸

Haley Mills was my FAVORITE teenage film star when I was around 12 years old. I had ALL the pictures that were carefully torn from teen magazines. My bedroom wall was all of her! She was a young girl like myself whom I could relate too. She was my best friend who always had this great big glowing smile along with some of her other photographs where she shared the cutest, wincing little "crinkled nose"side of herself. Her magical presence and infectious smile was my rock through the excruciating adolescence of my time. Thanks Haley...you are still a class act!

When I was around 12 our family was going through trauma which lasted for a few years. It ended up with my dad leaving. I discovered Pollyanna and then The Parent Trap. Those two movies "saved" me during those years. I latched on to Hayley Mills in those two movies. At some point I started collecting movie magazines (25 cents at that time!) and kept up with her for years...way into my adulthood. I am 74 years old now, still have a heart for her and smile when I think back to those times instead of dwelling on the bad stuff. I have kept all my scrap books and movies magazines after all these years. I still get them out every few years and enjoy looking at all I collected. I still enjoy finding something she is in now. Glad you put this out...she really has had a good life. We all have poop hit the fan sometimes. I loved "The Truth About Spring" when I was a teenager. She was cocky and pretty!

@@DTD110865 It was cute in those days and tried to straddle very young (children) fans as well as those of us who were just becoming young teens. Maybe had some awkward moments but Hayley did save the day! 😀Her mother seemed to hate most of the Disney/Hollywood doings she was a part of, so that doesn’t surprise me. I think her mother could have more enjoyed her great success with Disney; it wasn’t supposed to be Shakespeare! 😅 (I also still don’t agree with her “parents” decision to not let her attend the academy awards the year she won. What a special moment and she wasn’t even told about it at the time; let alone allowed to pick up her special award for herself.)😔
I hope - since then - Hayley’s realized these movies were just what we all wanted as young ones in those days.. light and fun and relatable. She brought it all to life with her personality! She was a very unique Disney star (when Disney was a studio with standards) and I’m glad she speaks so highly of those days for herself now. There will never be another Hayley Mills (nor Disney as in those days.) Note: I hope you realize this wasn’t all written as a reply to your comment, lol, once I got going I felt like I had a bit of a forum to say a few things regarding my opinions about what I’ve read about her life.

Hayley Mills was definitely one of the favorites of my childhood. This was very nice, but later she gave wonderful performances in two films that made her even more memorable: The slightly older girl in "Tiger Bay" with her father Sir John Mills and Horst Buchholz; and years later in a serialized TV program called "The Flame Trees of Theka," where she played the mother of a young girl in early 20th century Africa (we saw it here on PBS). I can't exactly remember when this was, but she was Anna in "The King and I" in either NY or London, and received great acclaim. I was elated to see her in both. When I was a pre-teen I had a sort of “girl crush” on Hayley Mills. I first saw her in a black and white movie called Tiger Bay, in which her father, successful British actor John Mills, starred. I was captivated by her performance and loved her accent! I said if I ever had a girl child, which I never did, that I would have named her Hayley. I was unaware of her breast cancer. I, too, am a breast cancer survivor; but, she and I have an even more coincidental connection in that we both had breast cancer in both breasts at the same time. My doctors told me it is quite rare, that only 3-4% patients diagnosed with breast cancer get it in both breasts at the same time. I am glad to hear she found her own way to heal. I haven’t really kept up with her career for years. Thank you for this video!

Wow what an incredible person Hayley Mills is I had no idea that she won an Oscar for Pollyanna but it was well deserved and she always had such a vibrant smile on the screen I'd have to say my favorite movie of hers was that Darn cat she was more in a supporting role in the movie but it was a great movie and she did an exceptional job in the movie and every time I watch Pollyanna how that movie ends always makes me cry

ALWAYS my favorite. In fact when I was a young girl I always said if I had a daughter I would name her Hayley. It was such a unique name for that time, you never heard it anywhere. My Hayley was born in 81, ppl loved her name, saying they'd never heard it before. And for many years it wasn't popular but as the decades passed it came into play. Many many Hayley's now. But when I named my daughter that it wasn't well known. everyone loved it because they had never really heard it much. My Hayley was special too. Sadly she passed in 2021 but whenever I think of Miss Mills, my beautiful daughters name will be forever mine, thanks to Hayley Mills. 😊

I was obsessed with Hayley and watched all her movies. I still have a scrapbook book of magazine cuttings from that time. Also, still have an EP of Summer Magic songs and 2 Pollyanna books. I've made my grandchildren watch Pollyanna, and they actually professed to liking it. All my life, I've adorned my home and windows with crystals. Strangely, one of my daughters was the spitting image of Hayley when growing up. I wanted to be Hayley Mills and will always adore her. I almost cried when this youtube came up on my phone this morning. I was so excited and it has brought back so many memories.

Thank's for this topic on You Tube. 'Whistle Down the Wind',a B W British Movie is a rare jem from the early 1960's to watch because of the cast including Hayley Mills, which for myself placed a certain kind of magic within a strange story the likes of that has never been repeated as far as i know. i was 13 years young when i saw W D T Wind, and she would have aged to 15. i am now 75 years of age living a gentle life in Fiddle Wood,Old Catton,Norwich,United Kingdom, with my Dear Wife and Bella our strange but lovable dog. Thanks to all for reading. BB

Whistle Down the Wind is my favourite all-time film. It is sweetly innocent in how Cathy(Hayley) believes the wanted Man, hiding in the family barn is Jesus and little references throughout the film lends support to the story. It is a beautifully told and acted film and I never tire of watching it. Simply lovely!

I was born in the 80’s and my first exposure to Hayley was with her show “Good Morning, Ms. Bliss.” At nine years old I was absolutely smitten and forevermore, my girlfriends and, eventually, my wife, had to be blonde 😁 I was crushed when she was replaced with Denis Haskins, regardless of how much I enjoyed his buffoonery as principal of Bayshore High.

Hayley has been our hero since we were about 13! That is, my identical twin sister and me. One of the first movies we ever saw was The Parent Trap and loved it. (Those days we didn't get to watch a lot of movies). I have the DVD now and I now realise that the movie spoilt us for future movies because it was sooooo good and not an ounce of boredom! I read her memoir last year and was shocked by the money grabbing British government tax system! The tax she had to pay was 'highway' robbery!

My junior year, I was taking one of the many drama classes my high school had to offer, and we decided to do a summer camp story for our improv show at the end of the semester. We talked about summer camp tropes used in books and movies, and I remember one girl (she was a sophomore) who rudely told me that I was dead wrong about Hayley Mills being played by only one actress. The black box, the classroom that we had for our class, had no service, so I couldn't pull out my phone and get in her face about me being right. It's not that she was insisting that I was wrong, when in fact I was right, that this sticks out to me. It was the notion that, once again, a student was rude to me IN FRONT OF PEOPLE, and no one did a damn thing. Gotta love high school, right? Wrong.
