Alyson being on point as always. There was also something she said once before in a different act when she was doing the post magic interview too that really impressed me. It was not so much sharp wit but instead rather insightful. So she's not just sleepwalking her way through this stuff. She is always fully present and, above all, listening.

this really shows why teller not talking is genius. he is so ready to play any role physically including improv. just an extremely well rounded performer.

Teller has also had the most emotional responses to magic as well.
seems like a really sweet guy.
He has talked about this in interviews (ironically he has an amazing DJ voice!). It started very ealry on as a method to stop hecklers from interrupting him. By not talking, there was just simply nothing for them to interpret. Hecklers would quickly give up once they realized he wouldn't engage with them - because now he didn't have to.
But he quickly discovered it also made his routines much better. He learned that if you tell somebody a gimmicked prop is real, they will naturally assume you're lying. Utimately bustsing your own trick before you've started it. But if you can show that the prop is real, the audience will then tell themselves it's real, and you've got them. Or as he put it "the most powerful lies are they ones we tell ourselves."

Dude, the feeding everyone treats as if they're ALL trained dolphins is absolutely hilarious! I love when magicians put comedy in their acts, because one: I love comedy. Two: it effectively draws attention away from the techniques used in the trick. I don't think of it as comedic magic; I think of it as magical comedy, and I love every second of it!

The bucket was quite important in the trick. When he pulled the treat out for penn, he accidentally pulled out the inner bucket and had to cover it with the blue bucket.

This was so happy and joyful. And really fleshed out a simple idea without making it feel bloated, padded and overlong.

I feel like a lot of acts on Fool Us are either funny or capable of fooling them. Yours is wonderfully both. I’ve never seen magic with a trained dolphin before; brilliant! And handing Teller the $20!

Of course, there is the problem of how do you find out what's in the bucket
So many times, when I watch Fool US, I find myself smiling ear to ear at the end.

I absolutely LOVE this routine... I won't say trick, that goes without saying, lots of people do great tricks. This is just something so very special, the comedy, the participations (with added treats), it all just goes into what can only be described as an act or routine that is about as near perfect as you can get.

Teller is such a trooper. His devotion to this character is incredible. He's the old man with the goldfish bowl between his knees. The act started before he even got to the venue.

If I were to guess. A different scent is applied to each object, with corresponding scent applied to each pictured card. Dolphin first placed in relative close proximity of object, held by Teller. Then dolphin trained to hiss when corresponding card is presented, near Allison.
Willy and I love you forever for calling him a Dolphin :)

I think snakes are smarter than we give them credit to, absolutely genius tricker make snake to hiss. Glad you spoke over that earie sound effect, it made my ears ring, LoL.

I really love the performance, I think you have improved a lot from the chicken act and you managed all the details such that it is entertaining throughout with all the jokes clicked. I think only people in the mindset of trying to figure out the trick will get confused but you're even responding to those confused comments which shows how humble you are. No doubt you will be one of the best magicians in the world if you are not one already.

I also love this one more, first time that I am myself during filming. I do agree a 100% that magic wise I made a mistake by not pointing out some things, would have made it so much stronger.

Teller really is the consummate performer. This would feel insulting with a lot of participants, even though it's tongue-in-cheek and not meant to be. Loved the act and loved the interactions. 👌
Agree there, we maybe did a major TV show where they did not enjoy fooling around so maybe that one never got aired :) Luckily most of us still love to play around and have fun.

I, too, am a big animal lover! Were it not for the need to feed them rodents, I would own a snake, too (or as I like to call them, Danger Noodles). Your dolphin-identifying snake is adorable!
Danger noodle is such a great name!!! Love that. And I do feel what you say. I also have a pet hamster and used to have pet rats. Feeding Willy does hurt a little but I want him to be happy.

I understand your point of view. Its confusing by the edit. Alyson did not see the object, the snake really gave her a signal. All items where 100% examible also.
Yes, I'm watching on my phone and it was really hard to hear the hiss. I had to go back and play it a few times.
The little sound effect they added almost blocked the hissing sound.

I don’t understand all the confusion about this. Alyson wasn’t in on it as that isn’t allowed under the rules and the effect was exactly as presented. Teller had something unknown in the bucket and ultimately Alyson only said ‘yes’ when the snake told her to say yes. The seemingly impossible was achieved and that’s magic. Very funny too.

Im sure you can tame a snake in a way to make him do what you want.
I also think the object can be connected wirelessly to a device on him wich vibrates or something when its close to him.
Not sure if its done that way but i feel like it would be totally doable that way.
Alison wasn't blind folded. She saw what Penn placed in the bucket. The snake was just a distraction from the obvious

When snakes stick there tongue out it means they are smelling something so he could’ve put the sent of something they like on it like the sent of mouse.

Snakes are able to detect infrared radiation. Meaning they are able to detect prey even if they’re behind a bush/out of sight. So while the snake is covered by the blanket, it can still sense the heat signatures of the people, and perhaps each of the objects is marked in some way the snake can detect in infrared. So I suspect this ability of the snake is the secret to the trick. The rest is training the snake.

Hi Nico, I understand you. The edit was a bit tricky. She did not see it and if I would do it over again I would have Penn put his item in the bucket under the cover of a blanket or something like that. Learning :)

@@jo_de_rijck Doing something unethical to the dolphin would be an "easy" way to achieve the effect of Alyson knowing the item.
But I don't think that's something you'd even consider doing and it wouldn't be allowed on the show. Both you and Penn & Teller are way above that. And that just leaves me even more baffled how on earth you did it... knap gedaan, ga zo door.

Okay so if I was Alison, I probably would have ran the other way. Holding the snake, would be terrifying! Even if he thinks he’s a dolphin. But as far as the trick and entertainment goes, I would definitely pay to watch a full show. This was amazing!
