I hope they let you stay on this platform and not make you have to move your channel elsewhere, like so many others are having to do right now. Keep up the great videos! And create one where free speech is allowed, creators can create without looking behind their shoulder wondering if they will lose all of their hard work over one thing "corporate" doesn't like. A platform where no matter what the genre is welcome without prejudice. Where they can be paid with or without sponsors (their choice) plis so much more. We need some IT guysy & gal's who can help us create it. 💯

I still carry a Combat Commander but I have a micro 9MM for a dress up gun and a small .22 in my robe pocket. I am 70 and have carried my whole adult life, but only these days find it legal to carry a gun in a bank while wearing a mask. Strange times!
Can't go wrong with glock mags for sure I've never had a problem with any of them and probably have shot 60-70 different ones in different calibers. 45 mags I've shot quite a few different brands in my 1911's. My les baer didn't like much except for their standard issue that came with the gun. Wilson combat works pretty well. I always love hearing your stories from the 60's,70's, and 80's! Was such a great time to shoot and have a lot of comrades. You remind me of my dad, uncles, and friends that would explain the ins and outs of safety,marksmanship, and always bring an arsenal so everyone could try something new or old out! Great times that I'll always remember and pass down to my son and daughter and their friends. Such enjoyable times. You make it fun and educational. I'm not sure if you would ever entertain shooting a ruger bisley in 357 or 44. Two of my personal favorites. Keep up the good work and love your aspects on life in general. Thanks, Shawn Belford

My aunt and uncle are in their mid 70s, are anti-vax, anti-mask, contracted Covid and beat it. Said it was like having a cold for a week. Love you hickok45, you’re the best.
Ironically, I have less problem with a "jab" than i do with wearing face diapers. We've all grown up trusting the medical community, taking medications, shots, or whatever. It's not all that new.
Walking around with a diaper on our faces, especially where it's totally ineffective, is just Kabuki theater. But it does give the Loonies yet another opportunity to virtue signal.
So many people in the world just do not have a good feeling about themselves and lack self esteem. They seize upon any opportunity to "feel good," whether it's nonsense or not.

I bought two Magpul magazines for my Glock 23 (9mm conversion) for the price of one Glock magazine. They are tough and have worked flawlessly.
I was a little late watching this edition of SSA and as usual, I was not disappointed in your deep thought assessments on all things guns and life. Since I am a few months older than you I usually find myself nodding my head in agreement with your mature wisdom. This video made me laugh because you pointed out the "TV Comedians and Actors" you had never heard of. I'm with you there brother. Stars in someones eyes but I guess I missed the performance. I think it was CBS that did a story on "Famous People We Lost In 2021". I usually don't pay any attention but I looked at it. If they had 40 names, pictures and descriptions, I might have known or heard of 5. I still feel my life is great and I didn't miss anything.
Ahh yes my usual Sunday morning routine. Coffee, a new Sunday episode, and some knowledge. As always, life is good.

Gotta say Ive had quite a few Glocks in my 15 years of being into the world of guns and never had any give issues. That said I am a recent convert over to 9mm and Gen 5 (or their like) from Glock 22/27 combo I've had for many many years and the 26 Gen 5 stunned me. Wouldn't feed a round on its own whatsoever! Sent it to Glock and came back with same issue. A friend of mine got one around the same time and he had the same thing. Turns out when the 27 Gen 5 came out I guess Glock changed the recoil spring assembly to being more stout and like gen3/4 is using the same spring on both models. Works fine for 27 Gen 5 but made the 26 Gen 5 unreliable unless shooting hot 9mm rounds or plus P. Took me a lot of forum hunting to find others saying they were having issues too. However I traded it for a 43X and love love love it! Kind of turned my nose up at it when it came out saying if I wanted a 19 sized gun that's what I would get. But love the 43X after some time with it!
So my personal new rule: if its a new Glock and it runs a magazine out of the box with no issues your good to go!

I had an issue with one Shield magazine that was evident right away. I took it apart and discovered the spring was twisted to the point that it rubbed on the inside of the magazine. The other mags ran fine. If you’re going to have an issue, it’s probably going to happen in the first few magazines you shoot.

I have got 3 9mm for a EDC. An carry my Glock23 95% of the time. I have been carrying it sense 1999. I am a creature of habit. An one day I might put a red dot on it. But that might be why I do not carry anything but that 23🤔

I needed to put like 500 rounds through my shield mags before I fully trusted them for carry. Put steel cased, cheap hollow points, frangible, carry loads, and all different brands of fmj to make sure they work. Now I have 6 of them and one of them has the +5 extension on it. Just hard to beat having Glock 19 capacity in the smaller guns

Not being a jerk, but can you remember his first video ever.? It was Hickok shooting a steel Black Buffalo with a wheel gun. Real short almost like a phone video, no speaking. And then it morphed.

I remember when you, Gresham and others went to the 9mm after the FBI adopted it. I started watching you in 2010 when the glock 23 was your go-to. I always thought you did very well with it. I wonder if it will ever be what it was. God, I cant believe that was 11 yrs ago.
G-23 is still my go-to. Bought a Gen 2 in 1996 and still to this day have not had a malfunction. My buddy limp wristed it years ago and stove piped it but later on told me he did it on purpose because he thought I needed to see what my gun looked like when it was jammed up.

Up in the mitten state have a sa-35 on order, so extra happy to spend time with you today (always enjoy your perspective on life, liberty, guns and family). I retired over four years ago and one of my passions besides bad golf, is enjoying my weekly range time trying to improve my skills, but mostly just have fun. May God bless your family! PS/after thought as watching your video, my ruger lcp max worked great thru 50 fmj and 17 jhp and I feel comfortable with it in my pocket. My 3” 1911 is a different story with dependability, it would probably make thru five rounds with no issues, #6, and #7 45 acp are still having intermittent fail to feed. Too intermittent to trust my families life with.

I’m up to 3,510rds through Shield Arms mags. 1,200~ of those were with gen 1 mags. I had a nose dive malfunction every 150-200rds or so. SA swapped those for gen 2’s and I haven’t had any malfunction in the last 2,300+rds. I’ve shot all the HST offerings, Gold Dot’s, Winchester Ranger T and Underwoods defense rounds and a majority of the fmj’s have been Freedom Munitions 115, 124 & 147gr new and reman. I trust my SA mags. If I had issues I surely wouldn’t. I know people have had issues even with the gen 2’s. If they work for you, enjoy. If they don’t, Glock’s 10rd mags work excellent. Hopefully they work for you, sir. Thanks.

I live in East Tennessee so I know exactly what you’re talking about. Tennessee weather is like having a bipolar child it’s all over the place stay warm today getting that snow.
I was thrilled to get a hold of the Shield 15 round mags for my G48. Then one day I had two different failure to feed problems using HST's. The lip of the hollow point was catching on the bottom of the feed ramp. After close comparison of the Glock versus Shield i realized the Shield was a millimeter or two shorter in height. Now I only use the Glock 10 round mags. It scared me to think about having a failure to feed in a life or death moment.
Mind if i ask you if you had the generation 1 mags or the new generation 2?

As soon as the 43X was available in all black, I picked one up. For some odd reason, it's the only Glock I ever shot that gives me slide bite. I've shot about a dozen Glock formats (including the standard 43 and the 42), and none of the others do. Anyway, I went and sold it for that reason.

Since you are experimenting with extra capacity mags. May I suggest you try Magguts for your P365 XL and P365. The XL is 14+1 and the reg one is 12+1. It is a new spring and follower in the same mag body. I’ve used them both for awhile now and have had no issues.

I bought 2 Magpul G19 mags. I wanted to test them. I shot them a lot. I bought 4 more. Not one issue. Yes, I did save a few bucks.
As far as PMags and the ARs? Zero problems. I bought a bunch more. Hex mags as well. No complaints. Those two are all I use now.
MecGar mags in my CZ 75? Nope. Did not cut the mustard. Only CZ mags for all my CZ pistols.
You are spot on ref 1911 mags. I like Wilson, McCormick, Springfield in that order. That is all I will use.

I have the Shield Arms mags with G43X as my EDC. Both Gen 1 amd Gen 2. Also the metal mag release. 100% reliable and I shoot it regularly. Love having 16 rounds in a compact package, particularly for appendix carry.
Can you still use the Glock mag with the metal mag release?
@@zmanphx Yes, I use the Glock mags with the after market mag release at the range and they work fine. I have extended mag releases on other Glocks and never have had a malfunction or damage to mags.

I had problems with the gen1 shield arms mags falling out of my G48 after taking a shot. Went to the Gen 2 & have had 0 issues 👍. You never know until you try it. Good vid Hickok

The video Glock fans have been waiting for. I've got the gen 1 mags with the aluminum mag catch. Haven't had a problem, but always wonder if it was a good idea.
I wish you and all who buy those mags the best of luck. I have a shoe box full of the first gen. that I do not trust except to run stoppage drills. The old sayings, there is no free lunch and fool me once come to mind. My Glocks are for the most serious of work and there is no room in that equation for self-imposed variables with regard to reliability. For me it has come down to this with Glocks, if Gaston didn't build it, with the exception of sights, I don't need it.
