You know what? It actually is fun and satisfying to go to the gym if you keep going. Changing habits is the hard part, once it's done, you start to enjoy the experience. You feel good as fuck after a training hard.

I'm a gym noob, I can never position my hands comfortably doing these barbell squats, like theyre stuck and cant go further back until a certain point so the bar is always on my neck. I see patty position her hand perfectly and she seems comfortable. any tips?
i put my pinkies on the outer ring! like how there are little grips on the bar (usually 2-3)

You probably have tight pecs and lots of knots in ur shoulders giving you poor mobility. Patty already has God like mobility so it might never been an issue for her. I too had the same issue until I worked on stretching and joint work... Also check for Kyphosis(mostly not the case but still worth checking)
most gyms have Safety Squat Bars which should remove the issue, you can then look into working on positioning for a standard bar if you wanted to or stick with the SSB

You’re a tough strong woman 💪. I’m rather impressed. I have the following suggestions:
- German Volume Training 10x10 squat
- Tom Platz routine 1-2 x 20-50 squats
- Parking Lot Lunges
- Farmer’s Carries (Your hands will get stronger) & suitcase carries.
- Front Squats
- Box jumps
- Pause squats
- Wind sprints
- Wrestle a bear
- loaded carries up the stairs
- Surströmming challenge
- Roman candle fight in honor of July 4th🇺🇸
- Light a stick of dynamite held between your legs, count to 3, then throw it.
- Can you swim at all?

@@kevamor435Calling LBP lazy and unhealthy 🤦♀️ Have you seen her? Not doing squats =/= not working out, sometimes an exercise just gets out of our work-out routine, no big deal. And even if the commenter didn't do any exercise in months/years, this is not the way to go about it.

Its been around 2 months since I stopped doing barbell/hack squats, and my knees never been happier. I have even noticed an increase in overall leg size doing other leg exercises, not planning to do these again in a while. Great video Pat.
Hold on now, squats are still very good if done properly. Knee pain could mean weakness or tightness in your hips or somewhere else. I think everyone starting out should stick to the basics before moving onto machines and other stuff.
Yeah interesting.. I've been doing squats , increasing weight over time and going to failure etc etc for two years and have zero knee pain.. I'm 40 btw with a background as an infantryman in the army and a Wildlands firefighter .. so yeah each their own???
@@Plslevmelone Im not trying to say barbell squats are bad for everybody, but for some ppl they hurt even if you doing them right because its a problem of the knee itself

I am stuck doing at home workout stuffs. I just have a set of dumbbells', it is working out fine for me but I find it extremely limiting in what I can do with them. I would like to see you do a video on more stuff that can be done at home or possibly simple equipment that can be bought to increase the diversity of muscle groups you can target or make a more well rounded exercise program with. :D

I sort of followed your whole warm up then working up to a working set, which I've never really done before today. Finally squatted a PR of 205! (it's not a whole lot but it took me a while to get there) For some reason I never thought to do more sets of four reps when increasing weight [fart/mixed with bruh sound effect] I love your videos, so kind and I really can appreciate a fellow goofy goober goobin
