Your delivery is excellent. You capture the nostalgic, low-stakes “comfort show” feel of the series in your voiceover while still remaining engaging and even suspenseful. Your wry humor is well delivered and doesn’t interrupt the pacing or tone. The clips you choose to include work well with your telling of the story without seeming too choppy. You seem like a UA-cam veteran. Top-tier content! I’ll be sure to recommend it to others.
In lieu of writing my own praise, let me just re-iterate what this person has said. They're good points. You're VERY good at this. The one other thing I'd raise is that summarizing borderline nonsense such as The Evil of the Daleks is undoubtedly a ton of work and you hit a perfect balance of omitting and including plot points.
It's really interesting to see the origin of the many monsters that later appeared on new who. The daleks and the cybermen are the obvious examples but it's almost more interesting to see the origin of the Martian ice warriors, the great intelligence or the macra (the crabs, idk how to spell them)
These videos are incredibly well made, and a fantastic recap for the best show out there. Your dry humor and deadpan delivery mixes extremely well with the over the top acting and concepts of Doctor Who, and i am very excited to see the next episodes of this series. There's still a long way to go!
Wow! The first appearance of the sonic screwdriver and the “John Smith” alias!! Thank you for all the effort, u do great work and ur narration is so soothing and comprehensive.
I guess his words to Victoria about missing her family were supposed to be comforting to her? And to us, as well? Maybe I'm in the minority, but I find it depressing, how quickly dead loved ones are forgotten. I've heard of people being in a new relationship/remarrying within a year of losing their (supposedly) beloved spouse. You haven't even processed a full year of being without that person for the first Christmas, New Year, birthdays, etc., and already you've got someone new? Gee, thanks a lot!
Season 5 is one of the very best, if not the actual best. The Wheel in Space kind of spoiled it somewhat with the introduction of the miniature pretty robot.
Doing these seasons with 40+ episodes takes ages. Hopefully when we get into colour these videos will go up a lot quicker because the episode count is much lower.
So much fun, thank you! I love this ridiculous show. And I love black & white TV in general, so that's even more fun. I'm almost done with Tom Baker's era. I've been binging like crazy, so it helps to get a reminder of prior eps/seasons.
Great breakdown as always. I’d never really thought about how brutal The Doctor’s disposing of Salamander was. Obviously he’s a shit but it’s very cold and ruthless from The Doctor.
That's one of my all-time favourite Who story endings! The Doctor just wanted to leave Salamander to face the legal consequences after all his sneaky murdering had been discovered. It was Salamander who dematerialised the Tardis with the doors still open and then got himself sucked out into the vortex, it wasn't the Doctor's fault at all. Salamander reappears in a couple of novels and a comic if you're interested in his fate afterward.
I've binged all your videos over the past 3 days, and I must say, this is quite fun! I do have to complain about one thing, though: you call them "Classic Series" when, as near or far as I can tell, they were called "seasons" in the classic series. Even if they weren't, that's still the convention as I understand it now! Still, though, one little quibble over the title detracts nothing from the humor, wit, and summary of each story! You've got a subscriber, #541! Can't wait for more episodes!
Thanks for the sub and feedback! Much appreciated. You are correct about the series/season thing. I put "season" in the actual video (and on the thumbnail) because, as you say, they were called seasons at the time. The reason I used "series" in the UA-cam video title is because I thought more people would be searching for things like "classic series summary" or "classic series 1" so I'd get more hits with that title. These videos are aimed at people who aren't as familiar with the classic series (although I hope they're enjoyable, too, for people who are!) who might not be aware of the series/season distinction so I thought I'd go with the most commonly used term in the title to make it as accessible as possible and show up in more searches.
@@doctorohosadventures3476 That's totally fair and makes sense. I had a reason that was what you were doing. As a fan of the classic series, I find this quite accessible and helpful, and would recommend it to anybody I know trying to get into the series!
Great Videos I love it and wait for more. Just a few tips that I think will make them a little better (at least in my opinion): -Make sound the same level (dw clips are way higher volume than narration) -Split 1h video in around 3 parts. Easier to watch that rewinding every time I want to go back to watching and might help with putting videos out more frequently.
Thanks for the feedback, glad you're enjoying my videos. Was there a specific part you were thinking of with your comment about the sound? I went through and made sure all the levels were in the same range before uploading and it sounds ok to me. I considered splitting the videos up into 5 minute individual stories so I could post more often, but if if I had hundreds of individual stories the series would become intimidating again for people who think there's just too much to watch it all. people also wouldn't watch them in the right order because UA-cam would suggest random videos rather than from the start. I wanted it to make classic Who as simple and accessible as possile and I don't think loads of videos is the way to do that. These last couple of seasons have been really long because of the number of episodes. They'll get a lot shorter after season 6!
@@doctorohosadventures3476 Most of the clips seems high volume (I am watching on phone speaker at night and constantly changing volume) in comparison to Your epic narration. 5 minute clips would be for sure to much parts, how about 20-25min? I love your videos either way so I'll be watching them in whatever episode length :D
"Where would you like to go" the doctor asked, as if he had any choice in the matter.

Thanks for your kind review, it really made me smile this morning. I'm glad you're enjoying the series!
@@doctorohosadventures3476 you’re welcome! Your channel gets so many things “right”, it was fun to go into the all the reasons why

These vids are exactly what i was looking for to appreciate new whos appropriation of the lore
You’re absolutely amazing for putting these videos together. You deserve 1.7 million + subscribers.

I love these videos! Helps me catching up with the story line of Classic Who, I love your narration! 🤩
“It’s always England…”,yes Jamie,I’ve noticed that too,and honestly…it’s ain’t bad

Damn, I was actually thinking about your channel yesterday, and here you are! Thanks for your work, as always!
You're welcome!
Just when I finish the previous four videos, you upload a new one... what a nice surprise! Love your work (and your commentary lol) :)
Same, I literally found the channel the other day.

That unbearable pain can often result in a desperation to escape. Anyway, anyhow.
Tomb of the Cybermen is awesome in billions of ways.
I see one of your uploads arrive; I click. It's that simple. Brilliant, thanks.
Thanks for the support!

Amazing summaries! Will come back for the next season whenever it drops
I love these videos - clever and funny , celebrating the wonderful black & white years of Who. Thanks!
Fantastic video my friend. I love the narration. Keep up the great work.

Sexual Air Supply - All out of Love
Makin' Cybermen .. out of nothing at all
You sure you're not related to the guy who voiced "How its made"?
I've just checked out "How it's Made" on UA-cam and I can see why you would think that! (as far as I know, we're not related though)
Ah, back in my school days, when someone shook his head at me and said: 'What? You still watch Doctor Who?'
All that flirting is suspicious.
This is the Closest storyline of classic doctor who series🤓. I hope u make more videos of doctor who recaps soon🙏🕰🧐.
I'm working on the last story of season 6 at the moment so the next video should be finished very soon...
