- A Morning in the Infantry | THE HEAVY CARRY
I joined the Mortar Platoon on week 2 of their cadre where they had the heavy carry - essentially a whole morning of carrying all the mortar kit and going through various drills.

That’s why the infantry have knackered knees later on in life 😩
What a posting yous are on! Epic place to be living. Morale and vitamin D at its highest, class video 💪
Looks like Cyprus.
@@VenatusVox 10 points to Griffindor
Another awesome, amazing and epic video! You must really love the army life to live life to the fullest!
Great short video. Love the DPM.

Any chance of doing a Sniper Cadre? Snipers seem to be the most prestigious role in the Forces. Would be good to see a modern day Cadre 👍🏻
Best part of being a grunt is carrying a pack in excess of your body weight.
50 cal was 2 belts at 15kg each plus a part.
From the top of my head the body was about 28kgs.
When you weigh 60 odd kgs life gets painful
It's a bit like when I carry my mother in law 😉
When you first join the army, how do they introduce you to running with a lot of weight? Do they begin with having you walk a long way with the kit and then introducing running? Or do they just make you run straight away?
In basic I did a 5k run without weight as a taster of what would come, then they introduce weight at around 5kg and it’s a mix of running and speed walking pretty much, and then slowly increase weight to 20kg on your last tab, then depending on what role you choose it can go up to 40kg+ in phase 2 and in regiment
@@corripresh194 ahh ok cheers 👍
Where is the moustache ?
where in the world are you?
how long are you there for?
I think he's in Cyprus and was there for 2 years... I'm not entirely sure though
Awesome video sir, we'll post it on our page so the guys can get an insight into the mortar platoon requirements of load carriage and it seems DPM is the ally! Check it out on our FB page!
What's the name of that bergan! What make is it? And 30 to 50 kgs is no joke!
It looks like an issue PLCE bergen that has been modified by sewing on the extra pouches.
@@barryalexander2909 aye I see it looks modded, thanks for that though mate
They look like the mods JayJays in Brecon do. Look up their website.
What's your Rank and Unit please? The Vikings 1st Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment based at Woolwich. I use to be RAR. I was Junior Soldier at Bassingbourn Barracks then served in TA at Hemel Hempstead. Come on you Spangles!
He's a gentleman by definition lol being an officer aka Captain 😂😂😂 so don't forget to call him sir
@@kitpimpuk7949 I thought he was still a Lieutenant 👍
@@Katmando376 I don't know him but at the end of the vid he has the 3 x pips so that spelled it out 😂😂😂
@@kitpimpuk7949 That's a Captain. He should stay on seems a good Officer and a nice chap.💂
@@Katmando376 Awesome videos as well.
Be very suprised if any of the men where carrying 50kgs. Marines would only carry this and possibly the fanny para’s
Easily 50kg there
Mortar barrel: 12.7kg
Baseplate 11.6kg
Greenies: 10kg
Personal weapon: 5kg
Loaded march kit: up to 40kg
As an attached medic on Herrick our patrol load was over 40kg, more for longer patrols. But yeah, only bootnecks carry heavy loads.
Don’t forget the Bipod 11.8 kg.
@@barryalexander2909 try the 50cal lol
50 cal sucks more
Can the girls carry this kit?
Can they fook.
