Scott Bradlee moved from NYC to Los Angeles. He had not yet settled in his apartment. So this video was shot at a bar in an ad agency. This is the first performance Haley Reinhart recorded with PMJ, though she was seen prior to this on the bar during Casey Abram's performance of Stacey's Mom. The two were introduced to Scott Bradlee by Jacob Scesney (the clarinet player).

Only Haley can make this dark depressing song turn into a light carefree melody that brings a smile to your face. What a performer. Analysis and reaction as right on point. Thank you.

Haley never fails. I'm going to see her in Disney World in November. Can't Wait!
Another singer you should listen to is Dianne van Giersbergen. She is a Dutch spinto soprano who does symphonic metal music. Please listen to her song A Symphonic Tragedy. I know you will love it.

This is why you can't watch these vids just once. Scott puts together outstanding talent, and you can't really catch everything that each one is doing in a single pass.

In this song Hailey and PMJ definitely put the fun in dysfunctional. I mean, the character's life is a complete mess, but she's scatting, whistling and having a good time. Since it's PMJ, we're having a good time right along with them. I just hope the hangover doesn't get us.

This is the first video Haley recorded with PMJ.
It gained much popularity due to a TikTok mashup with the original by Tove Lo.

Hiding the drummer was a personal joke by the group for a while. Not sure why, but no disrespect to him. I think it was just to irritate OCD people. :P This song was her 1st video w/ PMJ. Just a bit before the '15 Euro tour that was her break out. Weird, funny song sang like it's just typical. Love it.

great reaction daniel... this studio bar setting was only used for this and "stacy's mom" featuring casey abrams which is also neat. introduced to scott bradlee by their friend jacob scesney on clarinet, haley and casey had just joined the band and scott wanted to get some promotional videos of them out before going on tour a short time later. this one took some time but has really grown on me the more times i watched it. it has great melody and love her playfulness even though it doesn't stretch her vocals like some of the others. i don't think i have seen a drummer so happy and peaceful before. similar to "don't speak", the whistle on this is amazing. they even did real 1935.version here: ua-cam.com/video/BrBr5bHb7Yg/v-deo.html enjoy! 😎

Absolutely love the sheer enthusiasm you have in your reactions. I am a huge PMJ and Haley fan. There are so many great covers done by PMJ you can spend weeks listening to them non stop. You should try some of Haley's live performances. As for her whistle and you only knowing of two people who are able to whistle with vibrato, I have one more to add to your list, he is Marc Martel and is someone you must react to. He does a series of one-take videos doing covers of Queen that will absolutely knock your socks off. Although he does a section where he is whistling in Killer Queen ua-cam.com/video/VVeuYPLaDWI/v-deo.html you must start with Bohemian Rhapsody, ua-cam.com/video/QkCxE2Lh458/v-deo.html This is arguably the best Queen cover of all time, but don't take my word for it, check it out.

Her voice has such a rich texture to it. If a grandma who smoked menthol cigarettes sewed you a multi-patterned quilt, this is what that quilt would sound like lol
