Haley Elizabeth Reinhart is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She first rose to prominence after placing third in the tenth season of American Idol. In July 2011, Reinhart signed a recording deal with Interscope Records. Her debut album Listen Up! was released on May 22, 2012 to critical acclaim. Reinhart garnered widespread recognition in 2015 for performing and touring with Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox. Her most notable collaboration with the band on a jazz cover of Radiohead's "Creep" spent 58 consecutive weeks on Billboard's Jazz Digital Songs chart. In the same year, she gained additional notice when her cover of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love", which became a viral sensation, peaked at number 16 on the US Adult Contemporary chart, and was later certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America on July 31, 2023. Reinhart made her live-action acting debut in the 2020 film We Can Be Heroes. On September 4, 2022, she released her new EP, "Off the Ground".

Great reaction. As a fan myself the words “character” and “Unique” are certainly among the qualities I love about Haley. Her performances also have a spontaneity and musicality which makes them feel fresh, even on repeated listening. Look forward to more of your reactions.

@@CedricGegel1 I've been spending some enjoyable time going through her discography. She is versatile. Her rendition of "Oh! Darling" has to be one of my favorites. I would love to hear her take on some of The Civil Wars songs--"Dance Me to the End of Love" or "Barton Hollow". BTW, if you have not heard the short-lived duo, The Civil Wars, I recommend searching for them on whatever platform you use.

Haley's appearance on AI was one with a lot of firsts (jazz duet with Casey Abrams) and a lot of songs (A lot more than what they do now). She's a really talented vocalist, and has a vocal resonance that I find really appealing. My favorite singer for over a decade (and I was lucky enough to see her with PMJ back in 2015.)
At one point in your video you mentioned how your channel content bends toward movie (theater) scores. A couple of years ago I came across a band who recorded a song that sounded like it was from a movie score, at least it did to a lot of viewers of the video. The band originally recorded it on video which was released on DVD in 2013. Nightwish is the band, the song Ghost Love Score (live at Wacken 2013 performance). Also, their vocalist can almost keep up with Haley vocally with mastery of her instrument. This was the first time Haley appeared with PMJ. Scott Bradlee (the man/piano player/arranger behind PMJ) had just relocated from NYC to Los Angeles. That's why this isn't being filmed in the living room of his apartment as was the norm then. The location is a bar inside an ad agency.

I think somebody already said it, but this was Haley's first performance with PMJ. If I remember correctly, it was actually the clarinet guy who introduced Haley & Casey Abrams to Scott Bradlee. Anyway, my favorite Haley songs with PMJ are Don't Speak and Lovefool. Seven Nation Army and Oops I Did It again with her & PMJ bring out a bit more character in her that the filmmaker in you would probably appreciate, though.

I think I mentioned it in the video, but I'm a big Haley fan and think "Creep" is one of the top two covers of all time (alongside Disturbed's "Sound of Silence") so unfortunately, I'm already *extremely* familiar with it!
