      Just finished mine 27.5 hour fast. First time trying it too. I eat pretty healthy in general so it wasn’t too difficult. I don’t really each sugars / refined carbs. So i feel like i was prepared
      Will try 36-48hrs next time

    I water fasted for 84 hours and breast lump and neck injury disappeared. Just don’t go back to eating trash afterwards ppl- all problems will return.

    I've been doing the OMAD 1200kcals a day keto diet with 1 hour exercise and have been losing 14lbs a month for the past 12 months . . . .Still got 100lbs to go.

    Great presentation. I do a 36 hour fast (aka Monk Fast) once per week and it has made tremendous difference in my overall health and well-being.

    I’m 28 and I’m looking into fasts. I’m average in terms of height and weight. I just want to be as healthy as possible. Reduce inflammation, heal, detox and repair my body now as a young man. That way it helps me in the long run.

    I do a 23 hour fast every day. I have gotten a lot of of the benefits he mentions about mood, anxiety or depression, better sleep, etc. I can clearly see though you are not taking enough calories in for athletics so it would not be something I recommend on high activity days or for an athlete.
    I’m cutting weight so I have added some cardio to my routine and that seems to work just fine. This is a diet you can stick to.

    Doctor, you are amazing
    Breaking down the gut mucus and inflammation and why explains so much as to what’s been going on with me and my body!
    I learned how fasting can help my stomach heal itself and the second part with the mucus that my immune system lives in and inflammation response comes heal and regenerate!!
    I can’t thank you enough! I’m going on almost 23 hours of a fast and about to go to bed, when I wake up early tomorrow it will be 36 hours for me! So grateful
    I never thought I could do this! But here I am!

    Currently on 10 hours of my 24 your fast .. my second fast of the week. Been trying to do 2, 24 hour fasts

    Some great tips and love how you break down the science. I’ve been implementing 24 or more hour fasts for 7 years now and find it so beneficial, I feel so incredible when I do that I want to do it all all time and know that there is a “Goldie Locks” sweet spot for how much is too much. Maybe you can touch on that on

      No more than 72 hours. After that point you may run into muscle loss and mineral deficiency

    Gained 50 pounds in a year. I have Depression and anxiety. Medicine messed me up.

      Many different kinds of anxiety and depression- my main recommendation would be to work out whether it’s related to a chemical imbalance in the brain or whether it’s situational.
      Ie if you’re life is in a bit of a mess and you don’t have any meaning or things that bring you value, it’s not unusual to feel depressed about that. Medication wouldn’t be what I would want in that situation but a mixture of being healthier, going out and doing some good for yourself and others (try doing good deeds without anyone knowing about it- it’s harder than you think and if someone finds out, it doesn’t count!😁), cutting out alcohol/drugs if possible and bad food- then connecting with people and things that you get value from. You will hopefully start to feel better soon.
      That said, I’m not a doctor so if you have a chemical imbalance in your brain speak to a medical professional you trust and get a second opinion if you don’t feel comfortable with what you’re told.
      But being healthy and being good to others is a surprisingly simple way to feel better really quickly.
      Good luck whatever you do from me over here in the U.K.
      Ps I started with a 7hr fast every day for a week then an 8hr fast and so on -as I struggled with 24hr fast and just didn’t stick to it. It was easier for me to build up but even the 8hr fast helped me lose weight, eat what I want and be mentally sharper at work.

      Try going carnivore diet. Life changing. I've been on weekly injections for psoriatic arthritis for the last 12 years. Totally off that medication now.

      Agree! He took the time to explain the details and minutia about the mucus and the immune system, etc. I did not know about any of that before he explained it. I now feel more informed.

    I'm going to try a 24 hour fast for the first time. I pretty much fast 15-16 hours most every day just because that's how my schedule works and when I'm hungry (dinner to 1st meal the next day). So, I'm thinking this should be easy for me ha ha! Question, during the fast is drinking bone broth okay or just drink water? Thank you! This was so informative and motivating!!

      It seems that bone broth contains protéine which might break your fast. Personally, i drank water mostly and Apple cider venigar mixed with water (drink with à straw) to cut the hunger and ít worked very well for me.

      Bone broth breaks the fast but it is great to have when you are done fasting...after having the bone broth eat solid foods

    I do mostly 24 hrs fasting a day and no carbs.also i do extenred fasting once in a while like 36 hrs amd 48 hrs...i lost 5 kg in 1 month

    I did a 7 day fast at the end of December and a 5 day fast at the end of February. I can now eat dairy, eggs and peanut butter. I have been making up for the years I couldn't eat them. Now I'm wondering if I should do more long term fasts to help my prefrontal lobe and vagus nerve because I still have chronic sleep maintenance insomnia. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

      @@GodmadeTrends I increased my potassium about a month ago and I think it helped. i also dropped a very stressful rental property in my life and I started sleeping better immediately.

    My old manager is Muslim, and he told me that fasting is good for you mental health, no anxiety,depression, it’s because you are hungry and all your care about is getting you next meal you just don’t care about anything else, we both started cracking up😂😂

    I have very bad gut issues, cant eat lots of things including blueberries, wheat etc. very bad insomnia & low energy levels too so I did a 24 hour fast for almost a year in 2022. My goodness, a few months down I felt so healthy & energetic. A few more months & my sleep had returned. Am a good heavy sleeper & suddenly i could sleep up to 14, 16 hours. I was so happy. Am 5'7 and have always been slim but i got very very thin and had not noticed! I got shocked when someone I knew very well did not recognise me and the scale showed I'd gone from 60kgs to 45kgs. I panicked and went on an eating spree. I should have concentrated on gut building foods but i did not, including fast foods. I started getting issues after a month or two. So i believe I'd been healing slowly. Am planning another year of OMAD working from home and i believe this time will be a success.

    What can you drink during the fast? Is cream in coffee ok? Or bulletproof coffee? Can this help with Crohn’s?

      Cream is not ok. In metabolic fast you can drink cofee/tea with coconut oil or MCT oil. And of course, water with a bit of salt during the day

      I don't know if there is evidence on whether 24 fasts will improve Crohn's disease, but I would be willing to bet it would. Resting the GI tract once or twice a week will reduce the inflammation and toxins in your gut. I think fasting can do wonders for all autoimmune diseases that plague the American diet.

    Thanks for the great info. One question: Can I eat a solid protein based meal after the 24 hrs? Im trying a lunch to lunch fast and want to eat a healthy meal right after is this recommended or do I have to ease into it?
