i did really enjoy the utter hopelesness of the setting as it is revealed, how this world is ruled by cruel and capricious gods that throw a world-ending tantrum when their entitled wish for the agonising death of a third of everyone who ever lived is not granted. It feels like fighting against the most impossible odds, and i was honestly a bit confused by the ending originally as i expected that one of the option would be to give up and reinstore the sacrifices and instead i was being offered a vague choice between taking the undone sacrifice place or "devouring the tree" I do greatly enjoy your interpretation of the later through, to finally put an end to all these games and face the gods head on, even if there is absolutely no chance of victory. Better to be destroyed than to continue living under their opression.
the ironic part of their tantrum is that it's likely they unintentionally committed self-dirtnap, the gods sure ain't as rocks fall in s&s1 as they were in s&s2

This video inspired me to get the game (I was a big fan of Salt and Sanctuary), and I had a much more extreme version of 20:00 happen during a daily hunt. It was _supposed_ to be a fated Fungalmancer fight in the mountain area, but a fated Diablomancer and a fated Corpumancer both spawned in the same spot as the Fungalmancer. They all immediately dealt a ton of damage to each other (turns out all three are really strong against other mages), then all three decided to retreat to their lair...which was, again, the same spot. Funny. You play the game taking out bosses with fire bombs and the run ends with the gods answering back in kind. Also, since both of the games were on sale and you made them look fun, I got both Salt and X games for PS4. Wish me luck cause I may need it.
Salt and Sanctuary is harder and had a dark theme, if I remember. Co-op was fun. Salt and Sanctuary is a bit easier once you get into the motions and farm Mages. It's also not as terrifying as the first game. Co-op is fun too, a bit better than how the last game did Local Co-op on the PC. I was a tank with a massive heavy weapon in both games.
Great video! Nice to see some Salt and Sacrifice! I enjoyed it immensely ❤ Just a random thought that crept into my mind: The Convergence mod for DS3 might be right up your alley. There's an alchemist class that focuses on luck based weapons and consumables with all kinds of new firebomb-like items among other things. I know you said you're not focusing on modded content and that's fine, but maybe it's something to keep in mind or check out in private :)
You know I find it kind of funny that you made a comparison to monster hunter, at release I wasn't enraptured like I was in Salt in Sanctuary. I changed my mind when I actually started doing prep work and studying the mages like I would a monster... I had a light bulb moment and started devouring mages like they were nothing. 10/10 would partake in mage eating.

I like the question posed by the ending. Better a never-ending cycle of death and destruction that will leave some alive, or an all out attack from the Gods from which it's possible none will survive? Me, I'm all for devouring that tree.
I played Bloodborne for the first last week and when the fight against Ebrietas got a bit close I remembered the molotoves buried in my hotbar and I maniacally yelled „Firebombs“ while finishing her off and then realized I watched a lot of Backlogs lately

The first time I fought the heart boss I was playing through with a buddy and running a sage playthrough with staves. While my friend took agro I just spammed the ice stave at it and stunlocked it the entire fight. It never left its heart stage, so I never knew it could do anything else until my second playthrough on a melee character. xD

All hail Lemon of the Backlogs!
Patron Saint of Yeet and Delete!
Also I did not realize that this was a sequel to Salt and Sanctuary.
Finally! Salt and Sacrifice! I’ve been waiting for this.
ok im going to say it this man made me a fan doing only firebombs runs in dark souls
I am saving this for after I finally get to play and beat Salt and Sacrifice myself.
My life is fulfilled been waiting on this for ever
I enjoyed it immensely ❤
Just a random thought that crept into my mind: The Convergence mod for DS3 might be right up your alley. There's an alchemist class that focuses on luck based weapons and consumables with all kinds of new firebomb-like items among other things. I know you said you're not focusing on modded content and that's fine, but maybe it's something to keep in mind or check out in private :)
Awsome run lemon cant wait for "Potatoes 2 Carrot boogaloo"
My man really took one look at the complainers and said “skill issue”
Not enough people are making good content for this game, excited to see more sns from you
You know I find it kind of funny that you made a comparison to monster hunter, at release I wasn't enraptured like I was in Salt in Sanctuary. I changed my mind when I actually started doing prep work and studying the mages like I would a monster... I had a light bulb moment and started devouring mages like they were nothing. 10/10 would partake in mage eating.
been waiting for some challenge runs for this game i love the 2d souls like games but really struggle to play them so i get to experience them through u
Thanks so much for this you beautiful human being! You are awesome!
The firebomb saga continues
Man, I am so excited for this game to be freed from EGS.
Ahhh yes the fire bomb classic
After all the hype you gave this game, I was wondering if you forgot about it 😄 glad that wasn't the case
I just want you to know I will literally see a video of yours and run to watch it on my tv
31:03-31:18 Sssoooooooo, they're basically saying that Salt and Sacrifice is secretly Purella Magi Madoka Magica? (If you know the anime, you'll know why I made the connection)
I’d be happy, if the video was working…
(Edit: the video did start working, but only about 40 minutes after the upload)
I like the question posed by the ending. Better a never-ending cycle of death and destruction that will leave some alive, or an all out attack from the Gods from which it's possible none will survive?
Me, I'm all for devouring that tree.
This man is giving everything for the flame godess. Flame for the Flame Godess!
I played Bloodborne for the first last week and when the fight against Ebrietas got a bit close I remembered the molotoves buried in my hotbar and I maniacally yelled „Firebombs“ while finishing her off and then realized I watched a lot of Backlogs lately
Loved the lore man. Great run
this guy tempts me to learn how to mod just to have an elite knight that sells all variants of thrown explosive
Please.
Didn't know Salt and sanctuary has a sequel until this vid right here
Woke up to this alert...going to be a good day.
Look! Even the gods wanted to join in! Their throwing firebombs too!.
There needs to be a game where you either throw flaming lemons or play as a lemon throwing firebombs. We’d see at least 1 playthrough of it in sure
Salt and Sacrifice challenge idea: Last Mage Only
Rule 1: Can only use equipment from the last slain mage
Rule 1a: You can use your fists (and firebombs) to kill the first mage
Rule 1b: If you can not beat your current mage(due to resistances, Etc.) you may use your fists.
and then your normal rules
(also posted on community tab)
Loved the Into the Breach music!!!
Got salt and sacrifice because of you it was vary fun highly recommend
Using the Celeste OST for the mountain world was genius
The first time I fought the heart boss I was playing through with a buddy and running a sage playthrough with staves. While my friend took agro I just spammed the ice stave at it and stunlocked it the entire fight. It never left its heart stage, so I never knew it could do anything else until my second playthrough on a melee character. xD
Dude I’m a fan and follower of the souls series and many games like it just like the salt and sanctuary/sacrifice but damn I will say salt and sacrifice kicks my ass pretty hard, so to win using only fire bombs man I’m impressed
