I used a 3/8” x4” laundry hook plus a fender washer to thread into the ball head. Now I have a neat little hook to hang my rangefinder or my lunch bag!
Great video CW, you are going to really like this set-up. My Sunwayfoto tripods are set-up the same way I can use the clamp or go to arca. By the way I bought the smaller version of the vise and I love it, I love being able to swivel at multiple places. Have a great week.
CW, I have a bogpod. Also, I have made three wood mounts for tablet , cellphone and binocular mounting , they are just wood blocks with a ¼ x 20 bolt for holding them to the bogpod.
Mornin' CW, archery season here opened a week ago, rifle opens in about 2 weeks. Only time I used a tripod for shooting it was with a Browning 1919 Belt Fed. over 40 years ago. Darn thing was heavy. haha.
Morning man! Not exactly sure what your asking. The existing head unbolts. The new head (dozens on-line available) all bolt on same way. You just need to pick up appropriate washers or bushings then proper thread and length bolt and bolt it up! I like the use of a Eye bolt for this suggested in these comments so one can hang weight in windy conditions.
@cw2a i know where to get the ball head. I know how to attach the ball head to the tripod opening. I need the square aluminum adapter or shoe that connects the bog clamp to the ballhead I have no problem drilling for the 4 holes
@@MrBowmanmt I didn't use that part. I unbolted everything. I would say if you want to retain that... Its probably something you would have ta make yourself. I have not seen any such adaptor myself. But maybe someone does. Sorry I do not know. Good luck and Id live ta see what ya come up with!
@@neumandl564 Im not certain. But this long hook idea is top shelf!! Longer than needed add a nut and length isnt a issue. Big add of weight is big help on inclines & in wind.
@ You helped me tremendously with some accuracy issues I was having with a .500 Smith and Wesson Handi Rifle. I think it was 16 or 17 years ago now. You knew your stuff, and were very generous with your knowledge, I’ve never forgotten it and the rifle still shoots well, so long as all its needs and quirks are satisfied. Thanks again. I’ve subscribed and I look forward to getting to know you through your videos. Thanks again.
PVC pipe….great idea! I would’ve wasted hours trying to find just the right size of sealed bearings on the Amazone to stack up and then had a land anchor. 😂😂
Hey guys just did the swap to ball head. Pro tip. If you keep the bearing cups a 3/8 fender washer sets in them perfectly and perfectly centers the bolt as well as holds the ball head center. I spent 1.87 at bomgaars on 1x 3/8-16tpx3' bolt and 5×3/8 fender washers. Also a 70 mm arca rail is the exact size of the saddle mount foot print. Took me 8 mins to drill 4 holes . So I spent a total of 42$ for a 48mm ball head ( not the small 32mm) 1.87 for bolts and washers , 28$ for the extra arca plates (mlock 3.15' , basic 80ml )
If you swap out that bolt for an eye bolt youll have a place to hang a backpack from. Helps with recoil and holding the tripod down.
@@qbertatx Ooh WESOME TIP!!!!
Thank you !
