In my opinion any den that will limit eagle attacks is a good pick. I can deal with cougars wolves and bears but when it comes to eagles, no.
Nah man, eagles are the easiest predators to counter. Even if the pups don't make it to the den in time you just have to watch it and simply follow as it tries to grab a pup. You don't risk your health, and it's not some crazy shit as cougar attacks, that can happen in a matter of seconds
@@hvostgallikaI personally think cougars, wolves, bears, etc- just land predators, are more easier. I’ve lost many more pups to eagles than to those kind of predators. Plus, you can still get a pup back after a cougar grabs it. Eagles are just annoyingg. Especially when that one pup just won’t go in the den.
It is easier to defend against an eagle in an open den because you have more space to run to block the eagle. And also this other part only matters in accurate but if you get into a fight with a bear/cuogar/wolves you will have lost health then you can't go to hunt, because it is risky and you and your pups will go hungry and you have to spend a long time hunting hares. But it is your personal choice I guess
Funny how the den for number one was actually my very first den in WolfQuest, the day I got AE. Though, the McBride dens are my personal because there is only three sides where predators can come. If they choose to attack from across, you can easily spot them when swimming over. Also, both dens are very close, and are both wooded with avoids eagle attacks. Eagle attacks I find quite hard to handle in single player since the pups refuse to go in the den and scatter, unless you are lucky and don’t get pup that aren’t very bold. In multiplayer, open or wooded don’t really matter to me since if the pups do scatter people can just pick them up and wait until the eagle flees. Another is that two of my favorite rendezvous sites are right near them. One has beavers which is a great source of prey and the other has a big, open area to keep an eye out for predators. It also has a big field which is a perfect spot for hunting the newborns. One thing I do not like about the McBride dens, though, is that the large lake can make it hard to get around, especially when hunting and the prey ends up not going in your desired direction and right into the water. I feel that you covered most of the best dens in Slough Creek! Keep up the great work, and yes, this is very late lol.

Thank you! One of my favourites is the tree den in the gravel fan because during summer your right at the hunting area and there are four nearby rendezvouses sites! Also you put two threes! Dirt 9 & 7

All solid picks. I like Rock 8 - nice clear view and rocky porch, and Dirt 13 is a near backup for flooding/fleas.
One of my favourite dens is the one beside mcbride lake, predators have to swim over the lake to get to the pups, I usually see them and already have my pups hidden.
I love that den too, mainly for the fact that in that one hex there's 4 dens, makes it easier for moving as I don't have to claim more territory for the double border.

@@Maple.is.adorable the hex with the big cliff with a den in it right next to the water? theres a coyote den right next to it, then north west theres the tree den, and north east theres the rock pile den, they are all in the same hex, as i have moved into all 4 in a save once and have never had that hex drop down because it was the home hex
@@Maple.is.adorable NE rock den and NW tree den both are very close to the border of the hex, but still in the same hex as the two neighboring dens

Without fail every single one of my wolves at the den you guys put as the best den have died to bear attacks, lost over half their litter to bears, or lost multiple mates to bears there. For some reason whenever I pick that den I get soooo many bear attacks. Like, I’ll get like 2 wolf attacks and 1 coyote pet play through while there usually, but then I’ll get like 6 BEAR ATTACKS FOR NO REASON. I get so many I just call it the bear den 😭
Bru how I never get any pup killed, only 1 died but that's because I was trying to get the dead pup achievement thing ☠️
I've had 3 pups die
One stupid child that didn't stay in when and eagle came, 1 to pack affinity dropping and I wasn't there and it got taken, and 1 to sickness.
The eagle and sickness were siblings and the pack affinity was their sister's litter
Them: And this is the number one den! Me: *intense war flashbacks to when mates and pups were killed by bears because they got stuck on the rocks + me not being able to reach in time to save them from the eagles because I get stuck on the rocks* Um, I'll stick with the other dens O.O'
I tend to avoid forested dens so I can see predators coming easily, but I can understand why some would not like open dens. It’s great that there is so much variety to influence the way the game feels to play!
Another great den: The McBride rock den. Despite flooding quite easily, there is 3 ways a predator can approach, either side or the river... making the predator easy to see. Water is also close by, and depending on your luck, fish could fall near your den! Another unpopular reason is that the views are gorgeous, and it is near a few rendezvous! It's nice for being near the center of the map! I would also recommend this one! Though all dens are based off of people's opinions.
there is also a beaver lodge not far from it so it's easier to catch beavers for food once pups are old enough to eat chunks
There is also a couple dens very close to the Mcbride rock den and a rendezvous site with the beaver trail. I play that den too much lol

I absolutely hate that den lol. the lake is really inconvenient since it's so wide and it's honestly kind of ugly and overused. sure, it's practical, but I can't stand to look at it lmao
This was great, ive used a lot of these dens haha. If you have the Lost River DLC u should totally do a follow up video of those dens!

the best den for me is the rock one right by the lake, it has a large cliff behind it and with a lake in front it leaves the left and right as the only places to get attacked and pups cant really wander, I’ve never got a lost pup there, and its super far from opposing pack territory! :)
I know the den you mean! I like to use that as a backup den in case my main den (the rock outcropping just north of the den you mentioned) gets flea infested or floods or something. I prefer the first one because its closer to the beaver dam, and beavers are my main prey because they're reliable. But the den you mentioned is a good backup for the reasons you mentioned. Its a little farther from the beaver dam but its not a hard journey there and back. Also, there's a hole den not far from it so I have a third den option in one area - and they're all close to my ideal rendezvous site!
