Not sure if this is supposed to be a ladies only club (first video was directed at 40+ ladies) but thought I would toss an idea in since I was going through the series. I record my videos using my phone (iPhone 15 Max Pro) and have now added a second phone to the mix. AT&T offered me an iPhone 14 for virtually nothing so I took the offer for this purpose. It’s silly but I also grabbed a clapper board so I can record with both phones at the same time and synch them up (if you like this idea, toss your Amazon affil link out there). Thank you again for such simple, but profound tips! I really need to get a base camp set up so it's easy to record. And I really need to work at recording in public.
Thanks for all the great tips and tricks - But can we also maybe address all the stuff going on before hitting record. The preparation starting with coming up with an idea for the video, and not just the one at hand, but you need more because how else can you segway into another topic or video. How to structure all that without being overwhelmed and lost in time? I find that really difficult.
Some of these will be challenging on a motorcycle or standing next to it. Recording on the go will be most of what I do. Base camp and location will take some thought. I just don’t want to overthink.

I tried the scripting… ugh! And I’m still editing Tuesday’s easy fish taco video…it’s Thursday, so I’m filming and trying to edit at once… also I’ve noticed my views on YT were way higher even in a longer video, before I started to lose my hair… looking old sucks!
I find people recording in public annoying and inconsiderate. Especially when there are strangers in the background. Do you guys ask everyone if they don't mind featuring in your recording and to be later in public videos?
Theres a lot more than keywords. Main thing is to get people watching with your thumbnail and title, keep them watching and get them to feel something so they engage.
Great tips! I fly by the seat of my pants! I know the topic and then wing it 😬😬 I like your bullet points suggestion and solid tops! I always love your t- shirts! I need to go shopping. 😊 I have now posted 4 days and have tomorrows ready to go.. I’m a few days behind you 😊 I want to get better at moving locations and actually having a hook!🪝
That's awesome! Yes if you add a little structure and make sure your audience knows what the video is about and what theyre going to get right at the beginning, you can increase how long people watch. When that happens you'll get more views. I like to test it to see if little changes make a difference.
I feel like I need a cleaning lady to deal with the house mess And a cook to cook the food and teacher to help the kids homework then I will be ready 🫣 for now One video a week is already challenging for me as I use lots of visuals in my videos and I use prompter to read the script because I mess up when I dont and I edt 3-4 days

OMG! Permission to use the front camera... I've just upgraded my iphone for this reason ;) I was looking at a new camera and for the cost I could get a better phone. I love recording on my phone
Scripting takes me a lot more time. I just take a moment to think about what I want to talk about and then hit the record button.
The hate on front camera must stop😂 done is better than perfect. A reminder to myself to lessen the friction to keep the momentum
Is it really that bad ? I have to do a test on my android and see the difference. But I think the mic picks up more on the screen side.
I tried the scripting… ugh! And I’m still editing Tuesday’s easy fish taco video…it’s Thursday, so I’m filming and trying to edit at once… also I’ve noticed my views on YT were way higher even in a longer video, before I started to lose my hair… looking old sucks!
How to get viewers to watch longer
I want to try all of these tips!! But the most beneficial will be to set up a base camp!!
Yes! That’s a game changer!
My takeaway. Setup a “base camp” to accelerate your YT speed run.
Yes I find it’s helpful if it’s not a popular place at the house. No one hangs out in my laundry room but me 🤣
I find people recording in public annoying and inconsiderate. Especially when there are strangers in the background. Do you guys ask everyone if they don't mind featuring in your recording and to be later in public videos?
I need to get better at keywords because I’ve done 200 videos and only have 54 people.
Theres a lot more than keywords. Main thing is to get people watching with your thumbnail and title, keep them watching and get them to feel something so they engage.

my biggest problem is that i have cats and i have to tear down and set up every time.
My biggest problem is my dog 😂 who loves to participate in the video making process by whining 😩
that's a lot of work anyways... i don't have time for it. Like my comment if you feel the same way;)
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerrthank you!! Will do!
I have a new UA-cam channel, Patty B. Gardening, and I’m going to jump into your challenge! I love your teachings and tips! (I’m 51 and new to recording, editing, etc, so I need all the help I can get!💚)
